VISCERAL . LOVE IT
Wow, the enemy design is constantly changing and it looks and sounds great. I could not be happier so far. It is hard though. I am using a trainer to make it casual friendly. Highly recommended.

This game is fantastic, probably one of my favorite Souls-likes ever. No stamina meter, so the flow of a fight is determined exclusively by attack and defense, allowing for some hyper-aggressive playstyles. The parrying feels extremely satisfying, and the combat has a satisfying weight behind it. The riposte animations are phenomenal, beating the ever-living ♥♥♥♥ out of a guy that has a tentacle for a chin with his own tentacle is endlessly fun. The devs have learned a lot between their first game and now. All of the clunkiness and almost all of the jank is completely gone from this title, and a lot of the more unique systems they wanted to implement before are back and better than ever. The shells all feel unique with their passive and active abilities, the weapons all feel good, and the "Hardening" system from the first game has been *vastly* improved with a shortened cooldown, and an instant refresh if you get a perfect block. Hardening is optional, too, in case you want to use a defense style that's a little more familiar; You start the game with a more Sekiro-esque blocking/perfect blocking system, can unlock a more Dark Souls inspired Parry right after the prologue, and can swap between the three of them on the fly. They've added a refilling healing flask item into this game, and getting knocked out of your shell is no longer an instant death sentence. This is genuinely the most fun I've had with the genre in a long time. The game runs in Unreal Engine 5, but it seems rather well optimized; With max settings, I can easily get over 100fps without frame-gen, and can cap out my monitor's refresh rate of 180hz with frame-gen. Are there some bugs? Of course there are, but I haven't personally encountered anything game-breaking yet, and the team is very active on Discord. They're always on the lookout for bug reports and other player feedback, responding in a timely manner, and gathering as much information as possible to make the game even better than it already is.
