About
Experience life as a vampire in a magical town full of werewolves, witches, mermaids, and more! In this heartwarming, supernatural life-sim, you will raise mystical crops, learn spell-casting and potion-making, and befriend – or even romance – the locals. And at the same time, show your skeptical father that a life of compassion is possible – even for the undead.
Settle down in your family’s abandoned homestead and make it your own. Build your farm with magic crops and livestock, customize your cottage with gothic style, and make friends with other creatures of the night. Embrace immortality and unlock ancient abilities, all in the name of a more bountiful harvest. Unravel the mysteries of the seven families that inhabit Moonlight Peaks and bring a bit of light back to this spooky settlement. Just remember to be back in your coffin before the sun comes up!

Customize your perfect vampire persona and build relationships with the people of Moonlight Peaks to learn more about the town’s history. Uncover the secrets of the seven families who dwell there – and maybe even find your “tomb” love from any of the two dozen romanceable characters in the process.

Design your cozy gothic homestead, turning a forgotten farm into the ideal sanctuary. Obtain new tools and develop your property to grow even more enchanted crops and raise magical livestock.

Embrace your supernatural lineage! Shapeshift into other forms to explore all the town has to offer, and study witchcraft to learn spells that will help you on the farm or when gathering resources.

Beyond the farm, you’ll be able to enjoy fishing, foraging, and potion-crafting, along with activities like embroidering, flower arranging, and more. You can even collect cards for the town’s favorite game, Nokturna, to play against other residents.

In it's current state the game is virtually unplayable for longer periods of time. I'm having frequent issues with framerate and stuttering despite having a decent PC. The stutter can be improved by restarting the game or capping your framerate. But this is not a long term solution and, honestly, I don't want to have to restart Steam every other in-game day - I don't have to do that sort of workaround for other games with much higher requirements. This is not an issue unique to me, the Discord and Reddit have multiple posts experiencing similar issues. It's a real pity because I do actually enjoy the general gameplay and this would be a more positive review if not for this glaring issue (bar gripes I have about the weaker social aspect and some very odd writing choices for the bachelors when compared to the bachelorettes *cough* Ridge and Orlock *cough*). Once the framerate issues are fixed, I'd be happy to switch this to a more positive review (with caveats).
If I had to summon the game up in one word, it would be endearing. It's absolutely stunning, walking around the map even before the speed boost is not a problem because there is so much to visually admire. The game doesn't rush you and there is a lot to explore. The dialogue is cute and silly, but also touches on relatable themes. Knowing all that dialogue was written by just two people makes it all the more impressive. This is the perfect game if you like stardew valley and animal crossing, peak cozy game experience!
In my view, Moonlight Peaks captures the game mechanics and aesthetics of Animal Crossing New Horizons while incorporating the farming feel and relationship dynamics of Stardew Valley to create this wonderful cozy game.
I am very sad to leave this negative review on a game I wanted to love so much. But, here goes. 74 hours in and you are telling me I still can't have access to bat form to get to gold easier and upgrade my tools? Mermaid form is meh at best. You can get a few gold nodes here and there from swimming to a certain area. Story quests take SO LONG to pop up the next one. Not to mention, if a date pops up (and sometimes they pop up and ask you on a date without you having to ask which is cute BUT) it prevents some quests from triggering on that day. So if you are bored out of your mind from no quests and decide to date everyone to pass the time, its only going to make it worse. I have spoken to devs on the reddit and the discord and they say story as nothing to do with relationship grinding so why isnt there something updated yet letting us know whennnnn we will get the next part of the story? I have literally lost so much sleep over this game because I want story, I want gold tools. Which is my own fault but as someone on the spectrum, and a completionist, I need the story to keep going so that I can actually enjoy the game in full. Spacing the story out, yes cool. But 74 hours? I should have been able to enjoy my upgraded tools and all 3 forms along with decorating at my hearts content because I should have had the tools to do so. I should have the gold watering can since growing many crops is super annoying even with the iron one. I should be able to have better access to hardwood which speaking of, once its all cleared you spend days wandering around hoping for another large tree log to chop or more willow trees. Its such a grind and not very cozy at all. Sitting around waiting on a letter or someone to pop up at the door for the next quest gets super upsetting when it just comes to a hault. The job board is the only quests I can get and I dont want to even do that anymore. Just be honest about what unlocks the story if it isnt relationship based. I feel like I have wasted my sanity this past week and hyperfocused on something not considerate of my time.
Love this, Everything about it is so cute, Hope we get more character customizations and clothing options added in the future.
Game of the Year for me. Look, it doesn't always have to be something big and expensive to make like Pragmata. I'm also aware that RE: Requiem released this year, and it was phenomenal. Still, I base these things off how much happiness I feel overall, and this one takes it.
Zaj*biste <3
I have almost 50hrs in. My first save file got bugged and i couldnt buy the witches wand and upgaded my magic... the fruit trees took 3(?) months to grow instead of 1 month. I also CANNOT DATE THE MOON GODESS??? tsk tsk
