Yes I'd recommend this game-- BUT--- only if you get it on discount. A big discount. Overall this game is pretty addictive (i've got about 90-ish hours as of writing this review so I think I'm allowed to comment a little). At the same time its kinda...shallow? It's like buying a really fancy and expensive looking cupcake, but when you bite into it there's not much flavour. And what I mean by that is I feel like there should be more story, more depth, lore for a game that has vampires, werewolves, mermaids, withches and seers. And before you come at me, I'm pretty much endgame at this point and I still feel there's something missing. I've been following the growth and development of this game since it was announced, I thought there'd be more? For me, my main gripe is the NPCs are cute but there's just not much to them. They have detailed descriptions on social media but in actual fact...I think maybe just one or two have proper personalities and are more than they seem, the rest just kinda feel really cookie-cutter. Yes, cookie-cutter because even vampires can be boring hahah. I didnt feel any incentive to talk to any of them tbh, apart from the ones I want to romance, the rest just face into the background. Befriending any of them doesn't come with any perks, not even store discounts or extra side quests (theres the notice board but its also just meh). Even the game mechanics feel very surface level at times. It pretty much just feels like animal crossing with some romance and farming. I don't feel like ive contributed anything substantial to the town apart from decorating a few parks and trimmed some weeds. There also isnt much furniture and clothes that is available to purchase and craft tbh. The town store only has like 4 things for a sale a day, and you unlock some crafting recipes later on, discovering more whilst digging or diving in game and thats about it. Clothes you get 6 choices a day and more often than not, it repeats fairly frequently. It's good if you're wanting to buy and have no money, but late game its the same 6 dresses in different colours. When it comes to using magic, its also...meh? I only use the watering spell, thats it. And thats also because you can only water magical plants with magic-- if i didnt have to to do this, i wouldnt use the wand at all. Having said all that-- I think thats probably why I've clocked in 90 hours. It's simple and relaxing. Thats it. It's not difficult, it's not grindy; i like that i can shut my brain off and just enjoy feeding my venus fly trap bugs and fish. The one thing I did really enjoy is the watering mechanics. I wish all farming games had this! I don't need to water square by square and can just water a few plots at a time!!! Plus what other reviewers said; the story unlocks game mechanics over time can feel really slow; this is actually a big feature i really really like. I've played so many farming games and I'm ALWAYS overwhelmed at the start, the learning curve feels steep. I like that it helped make me feel like I was actually settling into a new place and learning about the different things I can do overtime, rather than just have it dumped on me. It blended pretty nicely into the story as well. I did like that this game explored different species like vampires, werewolves, mermaids etc, but again, its pretty much just aesthetics when it comes to the NPCs. They don't do anything besides transform once in a while. You don't even have a birthday to celebrate in game! After the first year everything just kinda feels repetitive with little incentive to experience anything new as of right now, my character wakes up to water plants, harvest, pet animals, say hi to one or to npcs and goes to bed at 10pm. I don't think this is a game I'd replay once I finish the story, as it is, I'm just trying to rush towards the story ending and marry after. What I'm trying to say is just don't expect too much depth or anything deep, its simple game. Since i feel it relies on the aesthetics and cute vibes to do the heavy lifting. Which is fine if this is what youre looking for and I'm glad i got to play it! Haven't been this addicted in a while and the devs really did put a lot of work into this to make it look good. Plus they've been very very very kind towards feedback on their discord. I look forward to their next game.

I really tried. There is a lot to enjoy about this game, and if it was $20, this might be a different review. As it is, I can't recommend it at its current price point for a few reasons. The good: Some genuinely cute animations and animals, with a story (albeit shallow) Devs seem to be making some updates The bad/not great: Many weird bugs like an item required to grow a certain tree that will not stay on (and thus, won't help your tree grow) if you leave your farm, or enter the barns, or your house. Speaking of that item--it is required to grow a certain tree, yet I only learned via forums—the game has no info about this. It also cannot be crafted, and, even checking where it is supposed to be sold every day, it didn't come up until after in-game year 2. Any required item should not be RNG. And anything weird or different should be explained in the game. Limited character design, and very limited clothing options Dating is boring (same date every single time for each character, even after marriage) Marriage is pointless aside from an achievement. They don't help, there are no children, it's just another thing to pet in the mornings. Although new areas open, the map is still fairly limited, with not much to interact with on each screen. As mentioned, the story is shallow and doesn't really make sense. It feels like they fed some scenarios into an LLM and it spit out this nonsense. Controls are clunky Musuem awards are not great, especially the one where the character tells you to go buy a new kind of building and it's like $50K. As a "prize". After getting through two in-game yeara, there isn't anything to do. Even though I still haven't completed the museum due to the aforementioned item issue and seasonal seed availability, but other than that, eh. 🤷🏼♀️ I kept playing for a while, but ultimately this feels like a very short game for the price, and not as deep storywise or wxploration-wise as other titles with much lower price tags. Wait for a sale.
The game needs a lot, and I mean A LOT, of polish and bug fixing and just work in general. My first save I had to start over because the event that was supposed to give you the Keg, one of the primary money making machines in the game, simply never triggered. Got all the way into summer without it happening, and it's supposed to happen in the first week. Then the second save, after I unlocked the bug net, I went on a Soul Blob catching spree over two days. I got to 23 the first day, and 51 the second day, meaning that the game gave me the 50 Blob reward and just completely skipped giving me access to the 25 Blob reward (which is the ability to slow down the way too short days). This game desperately needs more checks to make sure you don't miss vital, game shaping mechanics. It's a shame, because the aesthetic of the game is fantastic, but it's not worth playing when you can just lose out permanently on exceptionally important mechanics if the game just forgets to check it's own flags.
I would have recommended this game when it got more polish and fixed a few bugs but now I can't because of the last update that made it a grind fest! Its already bad enough that you have to wait a few days to get milk and eggs but now wine only sells for 100 gold! That doesn't make sense when it takes so long to make! 300 to 400 gold made alot more sense! Now its pretty much impossible to make money without it being more grindy then graveyard keeper! I just bought a new farm sim to replace this one because I am done until its fixed! If its not then I will never play this game again DO NOT BUY Unless you want a game thats as enjoyable as chewing ice cubes!
I cannot, in good faith, recommend this game in its current state for the price point. It feels like a half done game. Everything is just surface level enough to pull you in, but then there’s almost nothing under the hood. The aesthetics are beautiful, but aesthetics alone don’t make a great game. When you have things like sprites not matching their portraits (two very different and very obvious eye colors), patches that have to go in for incomplete button guidance, bare minimum stories, and early bedtimes because there isn’t enough to fill the day, it’s not worth a $35 price tag. We are the beta testers on a game sold as full. Additionally, and the biggest issue, you can’t trust the game. A month past go live and farm building, the devs introduced a huge nerf to try and address a problem that no one said existed. People were saying the opposite. It invalidated many play styles and they then decided only some of those play styles should get relief from the nerf after the initial outcry. They aren’t even addressing it despite people continuously bringing it up on the subreddit. It would be one thing if they weren’t addressing anything, but they do respond to those that compliment them. It feels more like they thought people were progressing too fast and instead of focusing on content additions, they made the grind even more ridiculous than it previously was and only fixed it for the loudest voices. Then they sent out a survey that included an ask if we’d pay for DLCs. It may not be their intention, but it leaves a bad impression. I will say the devs have done a lot of work post go live to address bugs, which are important. I hope they can address the poor nerf decision and build out more content because the game has a lot of potential, and hopefully in the future it can be worth its cost.
I wouldn't recommend the game yet or at least at full price. I'm enjoying it but at same time there are important things that for me are lacking. I wish steam had a neutral button. I would give a 6/10. The graphics and aesthetic are very nice and pleasing for someone who likes cute supernatural. Nice level of character customization and decor in the game, some funny dialogues. I like the casting spells process and the cooking. Something personal but I don't really like the UI - is too clean (feels like it was made for consoles and not PC), there is no mini map or quest track on the side, you need to always to click on the tab to check something, bleh. Biggest downside for me: the story is too slow and for NOW feels flat, the events are BOOOORING. I played Wydle flowers and my time at sandrock and hooooly, i can't even compare which makes me sad. The romance part is okayish, the males are super bland for me. About the energy/money aspect I don't really have complains, is a bit painful at the start but its always like that. If you want to play for the aesthetic, decor and farming I guess its fine. If you want something more engaging/ story driven, not really.
