This game is so good, Amazing pixel graphics but realistic character portraits. I love how cute the storyline is and how much detail went into the game to really give it that city feel. I also really enjoy the phone option to see all your contacts. It gives me sims urbz vibes but cuter! It's a really enjoyable game and you can tell the developers took their time and effort into it. Love it!!!
First off let me say that I think the only “cons” to this game are side effects of it being in early access (limited daily activities, some UX/UI things, some crashes) & the dev is super responsive on Discord to those things. So I want to instead talk about the pros - as I believe this game is a diamond in the rough & deserves more attention & players!!!! So the pros: the creativity of the premises and gameplay so far is awesome (moving to the city instead of the country, litter being the scavenageables, different apartment building storylines etc), the artwork and cast of characters as well as the music are all charming AF, it’s very cozy and relaxed while also balancing the need to eat and sleep which I appreciate as necessary to pacing with the “city developing day by day” type storyline, the player interface being a smartphone is clever and cute, lots of buildings to explore, and 5.5 hours in I’m still hooked, which is usually the make or break point for me. All in all, it is WELL WORTH the cheap EA price in particular, and I have a lot of optimism for how the game will unfold from here.
This game reminds me a lot of Stardew Valley mixed with Harvest Moon/ Story of Seasons just in the city. I enjoy playing the game and I think it has a lot of potential, so I am excited to see where it goes. However, it is quite buggy, that said, it is an early access game so hopefully with development this improves (the developer is also quite proactive with this on discord which is great). In summary, it is a very enjoyable game with a cosy vibe and a sweet soundtrack.
An extremely underrated cozy game! Even though it's in its early stages, it has SO MUCH potential and I absolutely can't wait to see more features and what the game has to offer! Since I always like ending on a positive notes, I'll start with some things I hope to see in future developments. The most prominent thing I wanted was more interactions with characters outside of the events. Since it is a life sim game, most of my gameplay was me working my way up to events so that I can chat with the characters (Who were all so well written by the way). I just expected more conversations and interactions outside of the events since after (And even before) romancing or completely befriending a character, I was kind of left thinking "What now?" since there were no more interactions to have with the character. (I totally understand that it's an early access game, but this is just more I'd like to see in the future since a life sim with limited chatting when there was no upcoming events, at least for me, left me wanting more). There are also a few bugs when it comes to characters wandering around, whether it be in rooms or outside, but I'm sure that'll be fixed soon. I really love the mini games there are (Like the fishing in the petal festival and the part-time jobs) and would definitely would like to see more! It's also great that there's more to do outside of just growing plants which is what a lot of cozy games lately are centred around and being given all these activities really upped the experience since I'm not so good at farming LOL! I also just love all the characters in the game! They're so flavourful and have such diverse personalities! Overall, this is definitely a cozy game you should support and share if you're looking from a change from the usual farming sim games. Even though I still have more to play through, I cannot wait to see more added!
It's sooooo freaking creepy and annoying that sage is EVERYWHERE doing EVERYTHING! Hell no! Change it PLEASE 🙏
didnt enjoy this game at all unfortunately. it's just not for me. it's not complicated exactly but it's extremely scattered and disorganized
This is such a cozy, cute, and underrated game. The color palette and lofi music are so relaxing. The gameplay is unique and engaging. 100% recommended!
Absolute peak
I'm so surprised that this game is not getting the attention that it deserves. It is so fun and addicting! Like the city version of stardew! It is the type of game that I'd rather buy full price instead of buying on sale, because I want to support the dev this much! (That being said it is on sale now so GO GRAB IT NOW IF YOU HAVENT) I grow up in a big city and I have a very urban lifestyle, so I'm really excited to play a life sim where it is set in a city! It does not disappoint! I love exploring different areas of the city (by walking or taking the subway!) and there's so much to do everyday - gigs refreshing daily, condo building stories/events, fishing, garbage picking, tree cleaning, foraging for tea making, rock collecting... I barely have time to do it all in one day! There are always some types of goals you'll want to achieve - making more money to upgrade your backpack, buy that expensive furniture or tea recipe, move to a bigger apartment or different building, raising relationship points with the other residents in the city... Not to mention the arts are just beautiful! By the end of spring, the trees all turn pink and the city looks incredibly gorgeous. The pedal festival is so beautifully done (and I regret not buying all festive furniture). Some tips: I think the quickest way to make money is through fishing, especially after you buy a better fishing rod to catch bigger or rarer fish. You only need to purchase the medium rod imo, because the city will reward you a golden fishing rod after you've completed the 5 stamps on fishing (number or rarity? I forgot) which is fairly easy. Tea making is also lucrative, however I find the ROI a bit low considering the amount of time you need to wait for the herbs to dry and the amount of money you need to spend on recipes. I haven't tried cooking much yet. Priority wise, upgrade your backpack first, otherwise it'd be really annoying with only 8 slots when you have so much to pick up/purchase throughout the day. You will have to unlock the fashion boutique in the mall to do that (took me so long to figure this out). Buy the medium fishing rod early so you can catch more fish to make quick money. I chose to live in East Garland because it is close to a large body of water and super convenient to fish. The museum is right next to it so donating new fish is easy, lol. This is more of a cultural area with library, museum and pubs, but I do find the building manager really obnoxious. Garland CBD would be my second choice because it is close to the mall, bank and private detective office. Also close to Garland North where the tea shop is. Garland West is kind of meh because it is just a college town? Not too much going on in this area.
I tend to play pretty much only life simulation games because they are my favorite kind of game. I first tried the Demo and then proceeded to buy the full game because I found myself really enjoying it. The graphics are well designed. The vast exploration aspect is nice, and the job noticeboard keeps you busy. I think my daughters will enjoy trying this game, too. The only real disappointment with the game so far for me is the interactions with others are disappointing and unrealistic. Conversations are too random for my liking. As in, when trying to continue conversations with the same person - they will talk as if you weren't already stood there talking to them and do fresh greetings. Other than that, it's fun to play and I will continue to do so. :)
