Genuinely beautiful game. The monastery is a charming and (mostly) relaxing place to spend time; the art on the spines of the books and the subtle differences between the symbols are an inspired touch (spiky waves vs. soft waves, anyone?), and the overall charm makes this a winner. I don't care for the cat though. Please m'Lord, have a seat: What, exactly, would you say you do here? Because I've been playing for 3 hours, and all I've seen you do is ignore EVERY SINGLE RAT that ran past you; and on rare occasions, managed to run THROUGH you. Bad cat! No Meow Mix for you! Lazy bastard...
The game is beautifully made — cute and atmospheric. Compliments to the composer who created the music for the game. Somehow, I managed to completely miss this game for 10 months. I only found out about it by chance a week ago, and I was so happy to discover a new game carrying on the idea of Wilmot's Warehouse after 7 years. Seven years! There has been nothing quite like it. I really fell in love with this concept. It stuck with me — or, more accurately, in my head, because the RAM you need for this game isn't in your computer, but in your brain. Thankfully, there is an option to disable the timer if it gets too difficult, along with plenty of interesting ideas built into the game. Absolutely approved. I'm genuinely happy with the purchase and grateful for the opportunity to play this project.

Accidentally dropped a book in the ocean and watched it evaporate before my eyes. Wanted to cry. 10/10 The fact you can spend all day just relaxing and organizing books to your whims, then at night fill orders in the midst of battle is actually really fun. Feel like I'm defending my own little library of Alexandria! ^^ (Especially with all the fires!!) If you like organizational challenges or fighting random enemies, this game is for you!
It's like the devs heard me and my mom when we were having a conversation about wanting to play Wilmot's Warehouse again but different this time. Our new favorite mother/genderless child parallel play game (and we're excited to try playing co-op when I come over tonight!!).
Great little title. If you've played games like Wilmot and enjoyed those, you'll enjoy this as well. It's more of an organisation game than a tidying game, you aren't clearing up a mess made by the previous monks so much as trying to avoid creating your own messes. Organising is fun, and the book covers are vague enough to where you don't feel like the game is forcing a specific system of organisation onto you, while still being precise enough to gel well together. The game isn't particularly hard in my experience with it, but you're able to reduce and remove almost every threat in the game if all you want is a relaxed sorting experience. Alternatively, you can crank up the difficulty if you so choose. Overall, I'd recommend the game, it's great as a game to play with friends but also works quite well as a solo experience, which many games that advertise their multiplayer offerings often struggle with. I've not had any performance issues with the game, and I doubt many people would considering how the game is hardly graphically complex. The game's soundtrack makes for a nice ambiance and the little island it takes place on, while absolutely feeling a bit small, is still greatly enjoyable
one of the most fun organization games ive played! the mix of having to fight monsters while organizing (& your own sanity) is so fun (& a nice touch to be able to turn it off, if you want a more laid-back experience) the upgrades have a nice range & easy to acquire, & playing is very fun in single player or along with a group of friends! the monsters dont spawn all that often so its not a stress to have to constantly be killing things, or worrying about your health bar, & youre not stuck in the same room all the time as your able to expand throughout the castle corridors. the only things i found a bit annoying was the switching of books in your hand felt very slow (personal issue though), the lighting not being the best when trying to look for books when your giving them to customers (hopefully a light upgrade as i play more), & theres nights you just fail due to not having one item & due to this: you get no blessings that night even if you did complete half or even most of the others orders. besides the little nothing-burger of complaints, i had SO much fun playing, & didnt find the organizing as stressful as other organizing games, seeming that theyre not in piles, youre not having to dig through endless items, & they give you freedom to place it where things make sense to you. im excited play this game with more people, but if youre looking for a new game to mess around with friends, or just one to grind out on your own - i HIGHLY recommend giving this one a shot!!
i bought this game and then immediately played it for almost 4 hours straight. i love it so much. the ability to turn certain enemies on and off is a lifesaver. 10/10 and you can pat the cat ^_^
Excellent organisation game in the vein of Wilmot's Warehouse with customisation options for difficulty. The book returns (after 2 days) and new arrivals system means you keep rearranging your library on the fly as you figure out the categories (and symbol descriptions) that work for you. Just finished first play session with my partner and it's been a great time so far.
I was waiting for this one because I love organization games where you have to devise your own schema for where stuff goes. It's got a simple and fun gameplay loop, with an unlimited organizational period during the day followed by a time-sensitive (but quite generous) retrieval period at night. The developer is quite good about letting people tweak the various parameters to arrive at whatever experience they'd prefer. I played solo and felt like they did a good job of making sure it was doable solo. Definitely worth a play! I was able to do the whole thing by myself in around 10h.
Four monks walk into an abbey and the first monk goes "Hey, that's a lot of books" and the second monk goes "Verily". And the third monk "Verily". And the fourth monk "Verily" with a sage nod as they pick up some books and get to work. This is a delightfully frantic game about organizing books in a monastery, remembering where you put them to fulfil requests, and fending off various beasties that are trying to ruin literacy. The dev is highly active and responsive on discord, fixing bugs as fast as they can be reported, and helping to mold the game based on player feedback while maintaining his overall vision for the game. A typical run takes 3-5 hours with 4 monks running around, but it's more than playable with fewer monks, and solo as well.
