Monumental Failure

When you first look at Monumental Failure you can tell that the game is not meant to be taken seriously. The basic premise of the game is that your helping to build some of the ancient monuments of the world. While you sometimes use practical methods to build the structures, most of the contraptions you use are not just strange but impractical. This wackiness is where Monumental Failure really succeeds. Monumental Failure is really simple to play as you use the analog sticks (if using a controller) to move your characters and you use another button to lock the current piece in place. That is all there is for controls in the game. Usually the controls work pretty well. The problem is that the controls could use quite a bit of work for the challenges that require you to fly helicopters, jetpacks and other contraptions that take your characters off the ground since the characters tend to have a mind of their own. While Monumental Failure has both a single and multiplayer mode, I would probably advise against the single player mode. It is a decent single player game but the cooperative multiplayer is significantly better. Like most of these type of games it is just so much more satisfying trying to work with another player than playing the game by yourself. The biggest complaint I had with the game is that there are only six monuments in the game. Each monument usually takes around ten minutes to complete. While they are fun enough to play multiple times, the lack of monuments does lead to the game becoming repetitive earlier than it should. Generally I would say the Monumental Failure is the type of game that you play for 30-60 minutes and then come back to another day. If you like quirky cooperative games I think you will really enjoy Monumental Failure. If you don't generally like these type of games though, I don't think the game is going to be for you. Monumental failure is good for some good laughs among friends. Definitely a game to add to your local multiplayer arsenal

A solid and goofy co-op experience. As a student of ancient culture, I can safely say that this game is 100% historically accurate.

Played this with 4 player co-op and it was an absolute blast. Super goofy fun. Also a pretty distinct art style for the gods. The game doesn't automatically give any tutorials for the controls but figuring them out ended up being a ton of fun. Great game and I can't wait to see what new content the developers end up releasing.

Played 3 player co-op and it was amazing! No spoilers, but those romans sure had some technology!
