Antes de empezar pense que iba a encontrarme con otro juego de puzles más, pero terminó sorprendiendo por la forma en la que usa la geometría y la perspectiva. Lo que más me llamó la atención fue cómo algo tan simple como mover una plataforma o girar una estructura puede cambiar completamente la forma en la que vemos el escenario. El juego te obliga a dejar de confiar en la lógica y empezar a mirar las cosas desde otro ángulo. Visualmente es muy simple, pero esa simplicidad es justamente una de sus mayores virtudes. Está construido con formas geométricas limpias y colores suaves que hacen que cada nivel parezca una pequeña obra de arte. No necesita escenarios realistas ni llenos de detalles para transmitir una sensación de tranquilidad y de curiosidad constante. La historia también sigue esa misma idea. No intenta ser compleja ni llenarte de diálogos. Es una aventura corta y sencilla que acompaña al jugador sin quitarle protagonismo a los puzles. En mi caso, sentí que la historia estaba ahí para darle un sentido al viaje, pero el verdadero protagonista es la experiencia de explorar y descubrir cómo funciona cada escenario. Mientras jugaba no pude evitar acordarme de The Room. Los dos son juegos que te hacen pensar, observar y buscar soluciones, pero lo hacen de maneras muy distintas. En The Room los desafíos están en manipular objetos, descubrir mecanismos ocultos y prestar atención a los detalles. En cambio, Monument Valley juega con la percepción. Acá no importa tanto encontrar una pieza escondida, sino entender que el camino que parecía imposible puede existir si cambiás la perspectiva. Creo que esa es la mayor virtud del juego: demostrar que muchas veces la solución no está en hacer algo más complicado, sino en mirar el problema desde otro punto de vista. Es una experiencia relajante, creativa y diferente, que no busca desafiar al jugador con dificultad extrema, sino con ideas inteligentes.
