Monster Viator, a game about taming monster and (of course) fighting against evil. During your travels you'll encounter many different monster. And those will join your party. Your party: that's you 2 monster and a female shepherdess. Like most Hit-Point games your max. level is 99, but I read that after gaining that you still get Hitpoints with each new (not displayed) level. Now this is unorthodox for an RPG...you can't use items. If you run out of Hitpoints during a fight and no party member knows a healing spell....that's it. Each character (human and monster) has only 1 slot for a weapon, a shield (dunno how a beast can hold a shield) and a ring. Also you have max. 4 slots for passive skills, 2 are individual skills, and the other 2 are skills that you can free equip...if you find an item with this skill! The weapon, armor and rings can be strengthen (up to 5 times) if you have enough money...you don't need to visit a shop for this. It can be done from the menue. During your travel you will find NPC that teach you different jobs. Those jobs must be equipped at one of the statues found in every city. The jobs rise in level if you do certain tasks (like you found a fishing rod and start fishing) or find special items. Those items spam a special category in your inventory (Treasure)...in short time it is full of items like Apple (rises all allies' ATK by 3%). The story has nothing new to offer. The usual jokes (if you are into this and very young). Gameplay is linear; you stumble through dungeon a, visit town b and than comes dungeon c. In addition to the main quest there are several side-quests....some simple like visit x in city y to learn new job, other are bounty hunts. Fighting is ever few steps. And with the fighting comes the real problem for this game. Like I said, you can't use items. So your only way to win a fight is spamming them with every skill you have. Don't worry, after every fight your Hitpoints are restored. There are no points for magic....you have TP...and can raise it during fighting. With them you can use one of your meager 4 (FOUR) skills. That means you must do extreme grinding (not only for rising your stats...but also gaining enough money to strengthen your items). OR You fall into the Pay to Win trap and buy 3x experience or 2x damage (for that affront alone I can't recommend this game) for real money. I've played this game now for over 6 hours...but I refuse to waste more of my lifetime for this under mediocre game.
a very classic feel rpg , kemco always delivers
Well to be fair... i liked the art style and hoped from the description for smth interesting... But well after 2 hours playtime, you dont get to tame monsters for real. They join you as story progresses like another char from story...you cant really split strategies because you are totaly bound to the "idea" of the creator of this game. And yes... its a bad mobile to pc port, really bad setup, missing smarter UX (sorry prgrammer thoughts xD) Lastly and most frustrating, you can level up yourself and others and equipment.... but all that is based on grinding... super boring. No extra thought about the player to feel "special" here. If you dont care about the above play it. I wrote this, so people dont waste their money on a "loveless" made game. You realize fast, its just done for the money without giving deeper thoughts :/ **Update: After playing that game through (20 hours found everything and did everything except tower of Rao) here some final thoughts: - Early progress is a pain, systems not well explained - Totaly bound to the story, no change in which monsters wll join you - At lvl 10+ you reach a wall and at lvl 30+ once. - After getting multiple monsters & different carmina you are able to change your playstyle a little - Story... is crap... Till the end its obvious and childish, i played to the end cuz hope of better ending, but no... - Monsters differ not much, same models similiar skills, just other color. Kinda sad :/ - Why SPOILER:
THE F* do you later get monsters, that are women?....
Why did i play it through? Just to see which mistakes i dont want in my games :'D
This game is fun. The story is good.
i'm a little bit over 8 hours in and still enjoying it story wise: you start with a character that has amnesia and along the road you will recall memories of your past as a beast tamer, along the way you will have to save people or slay boss monsters or find specific items but its made in a way that it pretty much has a back story on all things you do battle wise: the encounter rate of this game is quite high, you will have different ways to fight the enemy like pure damage but also the option to go for a more defensive or a ailment way of fighting, not all of these are unlocked direct but after around three hours you should have tamed enough monsters to be able to have a varity of fighting types, personally my favorite is ailment and buffs ( little spoiler but you will tame a ghost early on that is quite overpowered if you buff it with evasive buffs) the battles are in general a bit though in the way that enemies can deal quite some damage or have allot of health depending on which one you fight and require a good tactic to counter it, this is mostly true for bosses which can be difficult first try, till youl earned the moves of the boss though this could be made easier grinding or go for optional quest which the game has a couple of visual wise the game looks like final fantasy 1-5 ,luffia, or the older entries of tales saga, and does a good job in choosing how it places all walls furniture etc around in a way that everything looks beautiful and on the right spot, it brings back memory to my past during the gba -ps1 era tactics: there are different types of skills you can equip to your characters that can enhance them like apply ailment to attack, boost healing, boost stats , but also a couple of chance skills that can for example trigger a second attack or have a chance to remove a ailment on your party ( there are plenty more) equipment can also have a side effect boosting stats or apply a ailment (there is also more here) and the last thing i want to mention is that each monster has a type bound to it water>fire>wind>water this affacts how much dmg is dealt or how much is taken this also force you to change which monsters you want to have in your party and experience different tactics
