I am a big fan of Spoockle's games! The concept of this game is very interesting and the game does inject a large dose of hopelessness and despair. The game does a great job at taking a common way of thinking as its premise- "One is a too small part in the grand system to make a difference for the better." The game shows that form of thinking is flawed since if everyone continues to think that their own existence if a too small part to make any change in the world nothing can ever change until someone takes a chance at being first to stand up against the flawed system. I definitely think the mechanics of the game suffer in some ways. The catch chance on the "monsters" felt so low even with maximum upgrade as i continued to get super unlucky for a long time. T_T Also selling one by one did feel lengthy even though I get why that choice was made since it added some emotion to the story. But I think the game is a very worthy play for the feeling it leaves with you after finishing the game.

Second scary game to give me goosebumps. Was a fun spoopy story experience, would play again.
This was a great game! I loved the story. The gameplay was simple yet had reason for you to keep collecting "monsters," By the time I upgraded my "monster" pin, I caught on what was really going on, which was genuinely creepy. These made me want to unlock the other two areas. The variation in "monster" design was nice to see. Plus, the game input maps well to a controller when Steam input is enabled. Positives: The music was awesome and sound quality in general. Each area's music was subtle but fit the areas well with a somber yet eerie tone. The horror subtly crept in as I advanced in the story, which was nice. As far as the story, I appreciated how it wasn't blatantly told to you and how the scenes and environments added more to the overall narrative. It was nice that I actually got a good understanding of the main character's motivation and personality. Critiques: Not many problems while playing. My only feedback is that I could slightly got stuck/slowed on assets like a guardrail, but that only lasted for like a second or two. Other than that, this was a well made, the areas were nice, the functions were crisp, and I'm a big fan of psychological horror.
good game!
+ It's short and inexpensive. +- The main hub area is alright, visually and music. - Majority of game time is spent watching monsters with a low catch rate break out of upgraded pokeballs or tediously walking back and forth between the monster pen and the car with no run button. - Could sniff out the big plot twist reveal from the first five minutes of gameplay and was proven correct. Hokey. Rating: 3/10 It's a finished product and runs.
Short game, purposely stretched out by tedious and frustrating mechanics. Basically, you spend a week hunting critters, to get the most obvious plot twist in the world. About $1550 is all you need in terms of money to get everything. You can then stop catching monsters altogether and just end the day a few times to finish the game. But there's a LOT of issues: You have to bash spacebar on every catch to increase the chance. The catchrate ranges from about 80% at best down to what I suspect is 5-10% at worst. There's no way to get above about a 60% catchrate on the last level on the easiest monsters. You have no sprint button. Creatures can spawn in multiple positions where it's literally impossible to catch them. Your catchable range is about the middle 60% of the screen vertically, and the middle 80% of the screen horizontally. Creatures too close or too far, or who just poke their head in the side, aren't catchable. Corners have massive collision boxes, so you get stuck on the corners of things constantly. To sell the creatures, you have to slowly carry them to the truck one by one. The pen/cage that holds the creatures doesnt stop the flying creatures from exiting, and sometimes creatures will spawn behind it. This makes you have to run around to the back to get them. It seems like you should have choices on how to end the game, but you don't, even when the MC is literally telling you not to do something.
Very good game, the level designs were easy to grasp and the treat function worked well. Liked the variation of areas, there were probably two minor details I could think about changing but other then that this was a very fun game that spooked me every chance it got. Plus I'm a sucker for space stuff
