Soundtrack is bad, voice acting is annoying, animation combat loops cant be broken, very limited enemy types and attacks. The whole game is very, very repetitive. Its trying very, very hard to be Darksiders and fails. I got this for $10 on sale and I cant advise anyone to get it even for that price. Get any of the Darksiders games and enjoy the game. Sad as the art design is stunning and you can feel the love that went into it but its stuck in the 90's as far as its game play goes. Its not worth the time investment when other games do this so much better, enjoyable and with less repetition.
It's no Black Myth Wu Kong, but this is still a fun Monkey King game!
While the game has its own charm I cannot recommend it, as content wise there are a lot of better alternatives. If possible I would give it a neutral opinion, but having to choose it's a no from me Game is easy and rather humorous which is especially visible in one-on-ones style. Story isn't bad as well, but content wise it's lacking in almost every category Cons: 1. There are just a few enemy types which soon start to repeat and just get new colour and new toughness 2. For an action game it's really slow. Movement is slow, you can't jump far, in game you don't see the agility expected from a monkey. On the other hand in predefined places there are special actions(climbing/jumping etc) where all that is possible 2b. A big part of the game are rather slow cutscenes for simple actions like using a ladder or even narrative fragments where you for example have to walk while a dialogue takes place(at least later on the storytelling relies more on cutscenes showing some backstory which is a big improvement over the few weird initial scenes) Excluding such elements I'm not even sure if there will be 6 hours of actual gameplay.* 3. There are just few basic attacks and few more skills. Battles aren't really that dynamic due to limited move set and small dodge range. You can either play safe and in such case you can avoid almost everything or try to stay in close range longer and risk getting hit way more often(still healing isn't a problem). In most cases you can slowly hammer down the enemy till it dies, or one-on-one him or stun him/use a weakened state and then perform a special stronger attack. This sometimes makes me wonder whether it wouldn't be faster to just rely on counters instead of fighting normally. 4. Very few puzzles 5. Linear, with barely any side areas. Often perfectly fine traversable areas are blocked with some random impassable obstacles just to force a single route forward Still not everything is bad: 1. From certain point of game you can backtrack to find missed collectibles/resources 2. Cutscenes can be skipped 3. Humorous 4. OK story 5. There are a few nice animations 6. Extremely easy, so suitable if you just want to relax a bit without worrying about fighting strategy, solving puzzles etc If you're looking for a casual game with a story then you might give it a try(if you get it on a sale), but even then there are better alternatives. If you're looking for a more ambitious title stay away from this game. Everything here is very simplified. Mechanics wise it's a title which you would expect to see in early 2000s and the graphics aren't enough to compensate for the dated gameplay. Edit: * I finished the game in ~7 hours, so excluding 1h+ cutscenes and the slow story telling parts it truly is below 6 hours of actual gameplay
史上最被低估的动作游戏
the most odd Sony 1st party release I've ever seen
good game, plot points differ from movie slightly
such as both the boy and girl being taken and lack of sufu character
overall fun experience with some replayable elements to the game.
