A game heavily based on the Kingdom series, but in my opinion too heavily while it leaves some QoL features behind. Challenging to beat, but it has no missable achievements. You have archers and builders to build up your domain and defend it during the raids that happen at night time. Just like the Kingdom series it doesn't explain much about the game mechanics and it comes down to exploring a lot yourself. This isn't my favorite part in the Kingdom series either, but there you have the internet full of info and tips. However, Monarchy doesn't have that yet. It is also a lot harder than the Kingdoms series, especially with the die = restart. In the Kingdoms series, you get referred back to a previous island and don't lose it all, just parts of it. Before I started playing this I had a some doubt. It looked way too similar to the Kingdom series, but I love that series and would welcome more games like that. So I was wondering how much it would feel the same. And there are small things different, like the limit on how much buildings you build and the objectives of the scenarios, but it also is so similar. Including having archers and builders, and later on swordsman. I would even say that the costs for doing most things are quite similar. One coin to destroy a tree, having your archers hunt on animals for coins. Sadly for me this game felt like it left behind some of the nice mechanics that make Kingdom: Two Crowns and Kingdom 80's great but doesn't add much to take it in a different direction. Most of the achievements are quite easy and you'll unlock while playing through the game. the most challenging ones will be to complete all the scenarios as they are very challenging. None of them are missable. I give Monarchy 2,5 out of 5 stars. Lame version of Two Crowns adds nothing new and just looks worse
Please consider following my Curation page. I cover a wide range of genres both paid and unpaid, providing unbiased opinions as well as regular giveaway events.

Budget Kingdom 2 Crowns
So I got this game way before it was even released and was messing around with it for the first 10 minutes, noticing a lot of similarities to Kingdom 2 Crowns and the gradual development of your base, economy, and units. I wasn't really impressed and immediately ran into a huge bug that locks your horse in a permanent running animation until it tires out and gets stuck while doing the tutorial section of the game, I found that the only way not to have this to happen was to never use the running feature, but personally I'm not gonna put up with that as it would just drag out the experience more.
Conclusion
I waited until the game was released, and even a few weeks after that, to see if they had fixed the issues before returning to try to play it; however, the issue was never fixed; if you hold onto the run cycle in one direction, you will be locked in that animation and must restart the game. It's basically Kingdom 2 Crowns with a few extra steps and the ability to choose where you wish to place your walls, camps and all that junk, but for me unplayable.
Except for a cartoonish art, this game doesn’t bring any innovation. The influence is obvious right away, so you will not have to figure out the mechanics if you have played a similar game before. None of this has changed. The purpose of the game is to travel left and right with your king or queen, spend cash wisely, and build structures to survive attacking armies. Each game begins with a tent, which serves as your base. After construction, a few icons representing other constructions will jump out. Each construction consumes one icon, so you can not construct everything you want. Upgrading the base tent will grant you more icons, although you rarely need more than one sort of building throughout your kingdom. The lone exception is walls, which allow you to expand. To construct a structure, you must first have an empty plot of ground on which to place whatever you wish. Expanding your kingdom and cutting down trees creates a plot of land. Of course, you must invest the appropriate amount of coins. Once a building is completed, you will need to invest further coins to create a soldier, worker, or farmer. New people for your empire are discovered in the wild or they’ll come to beg near the tent. They will not arrive for free, so you will need to invest additional coins. However, there is also a trader that arrives at the beginning of each day. He can deliver a chest of coins or new people, but the choice is yours. But you must save at least one coin for the trader, as he does not deliver for free. Your monarch is unable to fight, so he or she requires protection. You start with only one archer who follows you around, but that will not be enough. Your soldiers will roam about on their own and occasionally hunt animals for extra coins, but they are smart enough to shelter behind walls when enemies approach at night. Both enemies and your soldiers die after a single hit, so losing one can be costly. Sadly, the game manages to ruin a lot with bas design choices. One of the worst are enemy spawn points. If you manage to expand the kingdom with the enemy spawn inside it, you'll get attacked from within your kingdom. Your soldiers won't go clear out the enemy base, and you can't do anything alone. This makes everything pointless because enemies will simply swarm your soldiers from behind and kill everyone.
Game is challenge and fun to explore the mechanics in the beginning. But it feels something is repeated after 5 ~ 10 times of gameplay. And it's annoying on the fight. While enemy hit the wall, they would be blocked and bounce back. But my archer CANNOT shoot ONLY ONE enemy with wall and archer, and lose the game :(
Song of Slavs и то лучше.
Sinopsis

I got it on 60 % discount (around 6 €) and is much worth its price. Its a nice Rip-Off of Kingdom, for example here you can build wherever you want or from begin a archer that follow you around as a guardian. For me, it worth it, but I understand the missing QOL Features. Also its nice that you dont need constantly the wiki to know what the upgrades can do, nice little pictures give an impression of an upgrade, Oh, and it is not easy, try not normal if you're not an Kingdom Veteran at least.
Kingdom: New Lands (Kingdom: Two Crowns) Kingdom: New Lands (Kingdom: Two Crowns)
