Beyond words horrible quality game-attempt leaving you with major disappointment

GOOD Points:
1. The environment is full enough to suit the concept and atmosphere. 2. Having many language conversions and options is a good touch. 3. The artist who made the music did a great job for this title. Even though there is just a few tracks, they suit the atmosphere and places. I can even state that it is “the music” that adds the most positive points to the project. 4. Although it is half-baked and simple, there is a Co-op possibility. Sometimes it does not work, it has a buggy infrastructure.
NEUTRAL:
1. The current graphics style actually adds a variable element for commentary, i.e., some people find the chroma effect and the blurry visuals tiring, while others seem to like it. Unreal Engine 5 itself is an engine that gives amazing lights & visuals, yet it doesn't look that good here, I found it very tiring and complicated. Still, I choose to remain as an abstainer on this end so I leave this situation as a neutral point. 2. Acceptable sound effects, especially death sounds and gunshots are well executed, whereas most other sound details you might expect to be present are either dull or non-existent.
BAD Points:
1. It offers incredibly & unfairly short gameplay, especially for this money: I finished all 5 chapters in just 50 minutes at a normal pace. There are so many 1$ titles in the market offering way better game elements in every way. If I made and presented such a simple software project, my superiors would definitely reject it and warn me. 2. The content is terribly weak, almost nonexistent: There is no other place to go in the game except the gun shop and your office. Everything else is meaningless. Detective and stealth features don't work anyway and it always turns into a gunfight. Except one incident in the beginning, there is no clue search or detective work or anything. It is said when they first designed it, they thought of cyborg additions, weapons, etc. inspired from the Cyberpunk universe, where the name of the game comes from, but all the ideas were literally abandoned so the “Detechtive” name completely loses its meaning. There is nothing technological, no laser weapons or mechanical modifications, there is almost nothing there reflecting a Cyberpunk era. You get literally shocked realizing how EMPTY it is… 3. There is literally no difference between the levels and enemies within, it's very boring: Nobody has any special attacks or attributes. As a result, the missions are monotonous, such as go and kill him, it's always the same. There is no element that excites us for finishing levels, only money comes. 4. Incredibly bad AI, beyond your guesses: You can't even call it intelligence, most likely one of the cheapest AI kits from markets was used, since there is absolutely no work done on it, the enemy flows straight at you in a line, just hold down the button like you're hunting ducks and wait, there's no point or fun. Their shooting skills are also horrible, they just try to step on you. Just get a simple machine gun and consider the game is over. 5. There is no such thing as character variation and replay value of the game: The character's visuals do not change a bit, what equipment he wears, everything is uniform and the same. He only changes weapons. They show in the video introduction as if there are potential different types, but it has nothing to do with reality. Also, there is no point in replaying the game, nothing new happens. 6. Terribly disastrous battle mechanics: There's a lot to write but first, when you run out of ammunition during the battle, you are finished, there is no second alternative weapon or close fight or such. Secondly, you can get easily strangle enemies without any problems, without fighting or noise, not even animation. So many other issues combined with their previously mentioned horrible AI. Very lousy piece of work. 7. Very sloppy and amateur animation setup: So many missing and broken animations all over the place. The gun bullet loading animations are all broken, probably developers took advantage of the isometric camera showing it from a distance; all guns are loaded absurdly in the same way. Also, when you dump bodies, there is no animation of throwing either. In addition, when you strangle people, your direction should have changed completely while strangling him from behind, but never happens. The main character has a pipe in his mouth in every conversation, but when the character is idle, at least put some animation giving his pipe in his hand and such. Let's see some effort, even the simplest games in the market think of such animation touches in their games. 8. Many misleading & unethical selling points – unrelated game genres: The developers themselves don't even know what kind of work they’re doing, after all the game smells like a cheap kit-mixture and that's reflected in the situation. Many game genres are tagged in a way to mislead and attract potential buyers. However, this game is definitely NOT “Bullet Hell”, “Action RTS” or “RPG”. First, they should go and learn a little about game mechanics and genres. You can't call a game that simply as RPG just by putting a few fixed and unchanging dialogues, there are certain norms for this business. Also, shooting with a gun is NOT enough to make your game bullet hell, this doesn't work that way. 9. Unethical behaviours and misleading positive comments here: Some of my friends warned me about this previously and it really seems like a real case that most of the positive comments here come from fake-duplicate accounts and some others come from their own community of friends who were given free keys by the developers. These misleading attitudes are not proper or honourable behaviours, you should let the real game players decide and so you will benefit from these criticisms to learn from your mistakes not to repeat them again to improve your quality & business.
Conclusion:
It's really a big disappointment, definitely it's not what it seems from the photos or videos. It's a very soulless game attempt which is unfairly short and empty, I finished it completely with all achievements in just 50 minutes, it was dull and truly didn't give me any pleasure. When I mean empty, I really mean that its content is incredibly weak with absolutely no replayability. The mechanics are very shallow, it can be produced even with very simple game kits. The current price tag is an indirect insult to players when you consider what get after all. Almost all of the $1 worth dated games sold within bundles are more respectable works than this in every way. It is really in such a situation that it should be seriously avoided because no updates, no content additions, no promises etc. could ever be able to fix such a black hole.
Final Rating: 2 / 10
The game is still "raw". The shooting feels like peeing, in the sense that you don't feel much "recoil" or "impact" whatsoever. I bought an assault rifle, and it feels like firing energy beam The combat feels very "early access" quality.
I received this game for free and I don't think you could even pay me to play it again. the hospital mission actually made me start losing my ♥♥♥♥. I swear to god there's no checkpoints and 3+ floors with a "boss battle" at the top. everything's easy the second you get an assault rifle but the second you're out of ammo you're finished. also tell me why you can't hide after being compromised?? like at least make a mechanic that increases enemy awareness when you lose their tail! put some effort into the game please. I've seen better games for free on steam. I wouldn't even spend time on this review for this game if the game was free. 2/10 just for the atmosphere. the graphics are over the top.
I simply cannot recommend this game. I would take two steps and there would always be something that made me go "why did they do it like this?" Combat and stealth don't work, the level design and enemy placement are garbage (and sometimes there would be more enemies randomly). If you wanna have an idea of how ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this game is, I once restarted the first mission at the checkpoint and got myself into an unwinnable situation because I would always get caught by a punk that I neutralized previously. This is a game that should have been in early access and not released in the state it currently is but that being said, even if they fixed the issues, it is still terribly dull. The world feels lifeless, all NPCs have the same 5 lines of dialogue, the only character with full voice acting is the MC and the only female NPC has her boobs hanging out, because. There are much better noir, cyberpunk or top down shooters indie games out there and DeTechtive 2112 is none of them.
Looks beautiful at first sight but the moment the action starts, it's just bad. The start of the plot is dumb (you get robbed within 6 dialogue messages?) Enemies are spongy, spongier than The Division - probably an attempt to artificially prolong the game. Even on easy they are spongy af - games usually scale the enemies up with time or something. Overall not even worth your time. We were hoping for something similar to the Ascent but nope. Moving onto CyberCorp, that looks more promising.
**Review of Detective 2112 - The Case of Missing Features** I recently played in co-op with a friend, and while we had some fun, the game felt more like a demo than a fully fleshed-out product. First things first: **don’t buy it at full price**—it just doesn’t justify the cost in its current state. The experience is enjoyable but limited, and there are quite a few aspects that need some attention. The core concept of playing as detectives sounds cool, but unfortunately, the game-play doesn’t focus enough on that role. The detective mechanics mostly consist of scanning the environment and clearing house. The only time I genuinely felt like a detective was during a moment where I had to watch a murder in rewind to obtain a code. It's a cool idea, but that kind mechanic was only seen once. The stealth mechanic, though present is lacking consistency. There were times when an enemy would spot me when knocking someone else out for his body decided to float/stand in place. As a result, most of our run was either running through the map and avoiding enemies or simply clearing house. Another disappointment was the weapons system. You only have a handful of choices, and I found myself sticking with the same one across all five available missions. A bit more variety in weapons or customization would have made things feel more dynamic. I found myself questioning the fact of a rocket launcher being sold as a usable weapon or a sniper. The plot, unfortunately, doesn't do much to keep you invested. There’s little buildup, and if you skip the dialogue (which I wouldn’t blame you for, considering how little it adds to the experience), you’ll miss out on key plot points. The overall story is very thin, and my co-op partner and I felt more like we were playing closer to *Hotline Miami*—fast-paced action and violence, with very little detective work involved. The ending, in particular, was a letdown and felt rushed. Despite these criticisms, I still found myself enjoying the game. The overall play through took just over an hour, and while I had fun, I couldn’t shake the feeling that the game could have been much more. It’s the kind of experience that’s “one and done”—good for a brief session but not something I’d come back to at its current price point. There’s definitely potential if the developers decide to expand. But as it stands now, it’s more of a proof of concept than a finished product. Definitely not worth the full price—wait for updates or a sale before considering a purchase. **Rating: 5/10** (Fun, but lacking substance)
