DO NOT BUY! This game has not had any updates since December 8, 2015. Multiple promised updates have been delayed/cancelled/reworked/whatever. Currently there are announcements claiming this game has been sold and a new development team is taking over. Possibly prompted by this article: http://www.fullgaming.co.uk/2015/11/09/hiding-under-a-rock-paper-games/ LINK: http://steamcommunity.com/app/339240/discussions/0/490125737466277448/ -- Thread "Who is RockPaperGames? Is there really a RockPaperGames? Should Valve step in?" summary that this review was duplicated from. THIS POST WAS DELETED FROM THE FORUM AND I HAVE BEEN PERMANENTLY BANNED FOR ASKING THESE QUESTIONS ABOUT WHO ARE THE NEW OWNERS! SCREENSHOT OF THE BAN: http://i.imgur.com/I8IgD9c.gif Update: The ban was removed, but the questions remain unanswered and the post is still deleted
-- Below are the contents of the post which was copied here as a review: --

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
These new folks have been unable to answer basic questions about themselves and who they are for days now.
Facts
FACT: The Facebook announcement of this game being acquired by Rock Paper Games is dated 2015-11-05. FACT: The domain for the new company was registered 2 days later by the same Shaun McKay from the prior company Source: rockpapergames.co.uk was registered to and last updated Shaun McKay on 2015-11-07. Linked: http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/results.jsp?domain=rockpapergames.co.uk FACT: Every legal agreement/document/registration/etc found thus far for the new company is connected to Shaun McKay from the old company. FACT: All postings thus far, Steam/Facebook/Twitter have been from the old owner's accounts. No previously existing accounts for the new owners have been spoken from or linked.
CIRCUMSTANTIAL
CIRCUMSTANTIAL: Valve does not allow the transfer of accounts, so if these "new" owners took over the Steam account of the old one, then the account is now at risk for being completely shut down. Valve would have transferred the ownership of the intellectual property's hub and the software management, etc to the existing or a newly created account for the new owner. So this another area that does not look right. -- (Circumstantial as who knows, company could have negotiated something new here to keep the games/software on the account and transfer the account{probably violating a lot of software licenses} instead of the normal transferring of the intellectual property(game/hub access)) CIRCUMSTANTIAL: The writing style of the old owner and the new owner share some very interesting traits in regards to punctuation of paragraphs. Both the old and the new owner have a propensity for run-on sentences as paragraphs, or paragraphs that have been repeatedly broken by " ..." instead of proper punctuation. -- (Circumstantial as I am certainly not a trained professional in writing analysis this is just my observation of the old owner going as far back as when this was on Greenlight and everything posted by the new owner thus far.) CIRCUMSTANTIAL: And yet with all of this we also cannot get from these new owners straight answers to the following basic questions even though it has been days since they were asked: Where can more information about this "new" company be found? Who works for this new company? Where is some evidence of this company's existence unrelated to 10 Years After and Shaun McKay? (Circumstantial as the new owners may have had some emergency or whatever that has prevented them from answering (although they could have answered in their prior replies and did not)(really being generous with the benefit of the doubt here)) CIRCUMSTANTIAL: The new owners had the money and clout to negotiate a pretty much unheard of account transfer with Valve after buying this game, but did not even have their own Steam account, their own Twitter account, their own web page, or their own Facebook page (at least none they've provided).

My Ramblings
My Personal Conclusion (not fact) and actions: For now though, all of this taken together has me at the point that I felt the game 10 Years After had to be reported to Valve, I have also reported the profile for the user so they can help sort the truth out since the new owners seem to be unable or unwilling to provide any actual information about themselves or validity to the claim of new ownership. We should be provided the basic information asked for and if the new owners are unwilling to directly, then Valve should be able to force or at least in some way validate the claim of new ownership. OMG!!! I hope the developer decides to roll back to the original version of the game from 2015, because the game which I just re-installed and played was a complete different game. It started off well enough, I saw a camp, a much better start than the original game which saw you awakening in a hospital. I made my way outside and began talking to a few NPC's.. Ok gooe enough, nothing to see here.. Jim Bob, or Billy Bob, or whatever the heck his name was instructed me to take up arms as infected were coming to play. I went into the gun shack and!!!! Controls didn't work.. Alarm bell goes off... gun shoots ring out.. Still nothing, I can see my gun sitting there, taunting me, yet it won't pick up. After a 20 seconds about 20 infected decided to invade the Gun Shack... WTF happened to the Zombie models from the 2015 game, these ones were stretch out and odd looking. Fake, unrealistic.. The only one that looked even slightly decent resembled Slenderman I guess. I can't imagine which part of the development team decided altering the game in such a way was a good idea.. This has to be one of the single worst games I've ever played, the SS's on the storepage were taken from the 2015 version of the game, which are no longer valid, the newest version of this game is a complete and and utter flaming turd. This game which had so much potential at one time is totallly..... "In the words of Gordan Ramsey, the developers are out of control" They took the few positives and removed them, stamped on them, set them on fire, and continued to add gasoline just to ensure no resembelence to a good game existed. I'd suggest you never buy this game, in fact if you feel like buying this game, poke out your eyes with an ice pick, or better yet, gather up all your worldly possessions and burn them. In fact just burn yourself. you'll have more fun waiting for your skin to char and crisp then you'd ever have playing this piece of crap. Ugg I played the updated game for a few minutes and needed a shower, I now know how an inmate feels after being passed around for a few cigerettes..
PLEASE DON'T BUY THIS GAME, TRUST ME, BURN IT, KILL THE ABOMINATION
10/12/16 - So, uuuh. Yeah. It's pretty much dead. Don't touch this thing. 17/09/15 - Looks abandoned. Still don't buy. 07/03/15 So, I'll start out with - in it's current state, this game is not worth your money. This is a pre-alpha build, barebones, buggy, without a tutorial and overall uninteresting. Early access does not excuse an incomplete game - they're charging money, and I'm going to view it as a consumer product. Of course, there is potential in the title - as there was potential in Towns. Remember how that game went. So, lets start out with a few good things. Pros: + Halfway competent voice-acting : You can tell this is from an indie studio. The voice acting is a little off at points, but it's there, and from what I've heard of it, it's not strictly bad. + Dialogue trees : I suppose I can put this as a plus, there's some decent dialogue trees in the game, a lot of it seems to be voice acted, though mind, I'm not far in the game, I cannot vouch for in-depth VO. + Communicative dev team : From what I'm seeing in the forums, the dev(s?) are very communicative and pro-active and open to criticism. It makes me hopeful that they'll use the EA model right, somewhat. (Update from 10/12/2016, putting this as a plus point now makes me laugh.) Cons, and oh lord there are a lot: - No initial tutorial : When you begin the game, you're thrown into a room and are immediately set upon by zombies. If you're not quick enough, you're gonna get torn to scraps immediately. If you're unattentive, you're going to miss both the knife and the gun in the room. If you don't search every corner of the building, you're going to never escape this first level. From what I do hear, they're releasing a path that will "re-vamp" the first level. I'm unsure what this means, I'll come back to it when it's released and revise it. By the time they finally showed me where I could find the controls, I was out of the first level. Press F1 for controls. Yeah. Gimme that at the start. - Poor optimisation : This game looks something like a game from 2006. Maybe Stalker at a stretch, though I wouldn't say it gives anywhere near the same atmosphere. Yet, I found myself repeatedly dropping to sub-30 fps. No, I'm not running on a potato, I should be getting consistent 60+ - Bugs, bugs, bugs : Repeating lines - I swear I listened to the same guy tell me he was going to rip my arms off and feed them to me about 50 times over the course of my "exploration" until I found the existence of the guide. Invisible walls, zombies being stuck in objects/walls, floating objects, AI ignores line of sight, corpses still existing on reload, zombies with 10 foot arms, the list goes on. Yes, I understand this is early access. That does not mean a consumer should not be informed. - Poor graphics, no artistic consistency : I touched on this earlier, but it looks like something from 2006 if even that. There is no very little consistency between models, and a lot of them simply don't fit together. And there simply isn't enough variation in the amount of models, I've seen the same ones over and over. I'm assuming these are placeholders, and if they're not, I would advise reassessing. - Features advertised in trailer unimplemented? : I give a question mark here, because maybe they have a trigger to be activated, but the hunger and thirst bars just aren't there for me. - What IS the story? : Looking at other reviews, there's a backstory to this - on the website. Not the place to have it, really, because for me, currently, it's down. I don't know how long the site has been down, but it doesn't give me good feelings. - Absolutely grating sound : Once you're out of the "tutorial" (I reluctantly name it so) level, you're greeting by grating, repetitive groaning... It sounds awful, it doesn't belong, I could barely deal with it long enough to get into the next section. Once in the hospital area, there was just noise that gave me a splitting headache. White noise? I'm not sure how to describe it. - Buggy, unappealing menus : The option menu has a graphical glitch over the audio slider, and the font used makes it rather unclear and irritating to navigate the menus in general. They're a chore to use right now, and there's no exit to main menu as far as I can see. All in all, I feel this game launched into early access way too early. Pre-alpha is not where you should be launching your game into the service - alpha, maybe. That means you've got your core concepts down and you're starting to implement features. Beta is ideal, as there's a fairly complete game riddled with bugs which the community can feedback and help you fix. From what I hear, they are taking feedback from the community which is good to hear. Hopefully, this will be worth the purchase in future. There's potential there. I just don't feel it's worth that purchase right now. Wait and see, it needs a LOT of work. The dev(s?) seems open and communicative, and it's my hopes that things do turn out well seeing this.
I got this game from a bundle and thought that I would give it a try. To start off this review, I would like to say that this game really has potential, but right now, it's in a state where it should be free to play test.

As others have pointed out there is no tutorial, other than press F1 to see controls.
The models look nice but the AI is dumbest I have found in a game and they bug and glitch constantly. Humans couldn't shoot or walk, let alone talk. Zombies got stuck everywhere and their hands came through walls.
Map is somekind of hotel or apartment building. There are windows but as you watch outside there is nothing but blackness and the building you are in to see. There are plenty of rooms but only 2 room types. I couldn't tell what stuff was obtainable or not and you can't go to the bathroom, invisible walls keeps you from going there.
Dropping items makes them disappear.
There is no UI for ammo

BIGGEST PROBLEMS
- Poor optimisation, constant stuttering and definetly under 30fps all the time. It really made me nauseous and is the big reason why I only played so little. - Running is superhuman speed-like! - Door which said ''press T to go to the city'' didn't work. - The P menu graphics options didn't work Check out my 3 screenshots if you are interested and my review will probably change if the game gets any better or worse.
I don't know how this even can be called a game... First try: start, click options game crash Second try: opened options again, changed the settings, pressed exit and the multiplayer mode started loading(no comment) Thrid try: started the game, dialogs were with horrible grammar and the music was awfull.I did the first quest... until i find where is the gun zombies attacked me. i found it and killed 10 zombies. mission complete... i tried to walk but was stuck in the window(no comment) tried to exit the game. again the multiplayer mode loaded. pressed ctrl+alt+del tried closing it from task manager... didn't work... restarted my computer and with pleasure deleted this so called GAME. pro tip: never run unity games in fullscreen if you are not sure they are stable.
Revamped Review. Its dead. As in really dead. No one is home. The lights are off, but they are coming to collect the money left by poor sods who dont read reviews or check info prior to buying. avoid at all cost. you have been warned.
I'm reviewing games in alphabetical order, and you can watch my review here: https://youtu.be/uk7Q5aKtf1U Prefer to read? Don't buy this game. Just don't. It was intended to be a Fallout-style game featuring an open world and survival, crafting and exploration mechanics. At one point in time, the game looked like it does in the trailer: Starting in a hospital, fighting your way out, escaping a city, and then attempting to live in the wild. That's all gone. All of it. At some point they decided to start over, and then simply abandoned the game. In the version currently available, there are a small handful of quests, no voice acting, limited crafting (4 recipes), 3 weapons to find, and 3 major locations to visit. Everything else is simply a scattering of assets. I would rather play Fallout 76 at launch that suffer through this again.
Released in Jan 2015 as an early access, "10 years" after still in early access, probbably worse state of completion than on release. 1) Install a game. Run the game. "Executable file not found". Find a folder, run game directly. - game featuring 1mm depth zombie models (unable to hit from side), bugs, balanced hit points (killing a zombie by shooting 3 times its head / chest / leg / hand - no matter), bugs, endless conversation (unable to skip text message even 10 Years After you read it twice), bugs, deadly music with no option to turn it off, bugs and much more. And did I mention bugs? 2) go to properties, change version to beta. Run the game from Steam. - Singleplayer - game featuring terrible optimization (FPS drops like hell), empty bottles, rocks and flints. Is there anything to interact with? Who knows. Less content than in original release. But you can run on mountain, jump down, hit sprint key and you feel like practising on next ski jumping event of winter olympic games with such a low gravity. - Multiplayer - choose "online" from main menu, server list pop up - no servers. Hit refresh button. No servers. Hit create server button. Wait a minute, second, third, ... exit game, go to your steam library and thumb down 10 years after.
