It started in your foot. Now it’s in your head. All that remains is the command: GO UP. Meet strange neighbors. Make bad trades. Every ascent teaches you what you should have done differently.

About
The only thought left is: GO UP.
The building has thirty floors. Your body has problems - hunger, thirst, exhaustion. The infection doesn’t care. It only wants altitude.
Your body is in shambles... but the foot keeps climbing.
The building is not haunted. The people in it are not monsters - and they want things. Junk. Food. Favors. Someone to do something mildly humiliating to their neighbor.
A few of them know things they shouldn't. And maybe what they know has something in common.
You're the only one collecting the pieces.
The building is the same every time you climb it. The neighbors are the same. The trades are the same. The vending machine on the ground floor has the same stock.
What changes is what you know.
Every run, you learn something. A shortcut. A better trade. An item you thought was useless until it saved your life. Slowly, the building starts to make sense.
You’ll know what to do next time.
But your foot isn’t waiting.
MOLDRISE features a full-length original soundtrack, composed by Mike Klubnika, creator of Buckshot Roulette, s.p.l.i.t., and Machine Party.
First-person survival horror. Retro aesthetics. A thirty-floor apartment building with no empty floors and no happy endings.

Wow! I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was definitely impressed by how tightly constructed this whole game was. Punchy humor, an amazing aesthetic, and a story that doesn't assume that everything HAS to be a twist was refreshing. My only complaint is that it can be difficult to really stomach some of the heavy filters/limping/groaning when your bars are very full, but it works very well into the tone of the story. Gotta get that foot looked at, man.
It's a wonderful experience. It's unfortunate that this game is crashing so much on my machine, and using Vulkan only made it worse in my experience. Other than that, I loved everything about the game itself. I'll be keeping an eye on this dev's future projects. PS: if you're on the fence about getting this game, I would advise against watching too much gameplay because it's the kind of game where knowledge is power. The entire progression in this game is based on how much information the player has, and if you go in knowing a lot of stuff it'll absolutely take from the experience.

A nasty, dirty, visceral knowledge gate game. Listen to the fungus.
Wonderfully horrible choose-your-own adventure survival horror. Traverse a flat block scavenging for garbage and running errands for unsettling weirdos, all whilst balancing a limited resource economy. Suffocating atmosphere, grimy visuals, flaying sanity. Short for the price tag but had me hooked the whole way. GO UP.
The atmosphere and storytelling is actually superb. Got it on a whim and glad I did. It was a fun 3experience and very thankful for the fun puzzle and pressure. The atmosphere and vibes are superb. I love the overall atmosphere and the game mechanics are fun. It was satisfying to complete and solve.
Quite good, but quite short. Around two hours played naturally. Some surprisingly good character writing and story, but not many mechanical surprises. VERY polished visuals and tone. Really recommend this, ideally at a pricepoint under $10.
Fun game. Enjoyed the aesthetic and the quirky dialogue. For a single developer who made this with OSS - it's impressive. One caveat is that it's fairly short and once you figure out the survival mechanics, it's pretty easy to finish. I finished in just over 90 minutes, but I can see others playing for 2-4 hours. There is definitely some hidden things that I missed and different ways to solve puzzles. So there is some replayability. If you enjoy a dark, indie-developed horror, I would say this game is a good buy. However, I can see how some might not be able to justify the $10 price tag for a shorter experience.
Хорошая игра, хоть и короткая. Жаль только, что новая концовка не ведёт к титрам. А только даёт ачивку.
This rules. Great time. Moldy feet. 10/10
When in doubt, trust your toe fungus to get you where you need to go 🍄
