It's a fun game to play I did not think I would like it, and I do a lot. I went out of my comfort zone in Indie games to play this, and I'm glad that developer emailed me asking me to try this game and give it a review. I am really enjoying playing it. Its a game I will play when I want to but don't want too, if you can understand that. The full review of the game is on my blog which I will link below. But yeah it's a game that if you are looking for something new to play. Pick it up. It's fun and I am having a blast playing it.
Let me be the first to rain on that little parade. The game had potential, the artistic design is fantastic. Every screen looks like a work of art. The platforming is well scenarized with a lot of variety and some little in-engine cinematics that are well made. The problem appears with the one-line-at-a-time dialogs that go on forever and don't tell anything intreesting. Super annoying. All the protagonists are female and it gives off a creepy weeaboo incel vibe about the devs or the target audience. The gameplay is original and had some potential, but in the end it's too messy. Too easy most of the time, just playing with your patience. You mostly lose because of falling through the floor. The music is very repetitive and annoying. The game doesn't have more bugs than usual, but since it only saves at the start of chapters, you'll be out of luck if a bug hits you at the end of one, like it happened to me. I was a bit on the fence, but in the end, it's a thumb-down because developers nowadays are getting a bit too comfortable not letting you remap keys and forcing you into a WASD scheme that only works on QWERTY keyboards.
WA! This is a really fun game :-) I love all the characters, especially Mia and her younger sister Nia, they are so cute and the background is really beautiful ! Huge recommendation for everyone *_*
It's cute! It's a shame this little game hasn't received more traction. It lacks the polish of a bigger studio or something, but it has a lot of heart. Nice aesthetic, solid gameplay, and a challenge that will take you off guard if you're not careful. The characters are likable and the world interesting. Not a long game by any means, but it'll provide some pleasant entertainment. Definitely give this one a look!
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Really enjoyed this game. I have not been able to complete it due to having to borrow a laptop to play it on intermittently. The graphics and gameplay are lovely and easy to pick up. (I had to remember how to keyboard again) the music is beautiful. I did have some issues with the controls but that may be due to a) me learning to keyboard again, b) I have small fingers and stretching them to reach multiple keys was an issue for me. C) I have long nails so I kept hitting the wrong keys at times. *To be updated further* Would recommend to people who like side scrolling indie games. Well done devs! :)
A friend of my once said " it is ok to pay 1€ for 1h play time" with this game it couldn't be more true. Cute artstyle, fast but not to fast combat system and a story which you understand without the need to gather 10x pages in each level.
Miracle Mia is a broken 2D retro platformer/brawler with an Eastern art theme. The "art" doesn't look terrible but then again, it's hardly taking advantage of what the PC is capable of. Unfortunately the art style is all I can comment on in great depth because the game is apparently broken and does not work properly on the latest Windows 10/Windows 11 builds. The game hangs and stalls on the loading screen and then the launch menu, until it crashes completely and you are forced to terminate it. Developers are responsible to ensure their games work properly on modern versions of Windows and Linux, and where they fail to do this it's their responsibilty to remove broken games from Steam to avoid polluting the platform. Going with what technical observations I can make, PC gamers will be insulted by the presence of console peasant children's toy controller prompts, despite this being on PC. Developers should try to be aware which platform they're developing for. While this is on PC, it has all the hallmarks and deficiencies of a console game, from the clunkier than needed control scheme to the less than cutting edge graphics. There's 10's of thousands of PC games on Steam, and PC gamers deserve only the best. This might not appeal to many gamers due to the lack of PC-centric design. It's unclear why this game was never accepted on the video game console appliances it seems to have been designed for. The poor quality of this game is reflected in the general public reception. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 3 players. That's right, only 3. This is a pitiful enough number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam, the overwhelming lack of interest in the game is remarkable, but also to be expected. This complete and utter rejection of the game from gamers should be a keen information point for anyone considering buying shovelware like this. Gamers just didn't take this seriously, and for good reason. Miracle Mia has the preposterous price of around $6 USD for a broken game... because it does not work, I cannot recommend it.
Miracle Mia is a pretty good action adventure game, okay story. In the middle of the night two sisters Mia and Nia are sleeping soundly on a train as they are with their big sister going over to visit their cousin Coco, but just then monsters attack, they also find out that their elder sister is a magical maiden who's a part of a group of other maidens and she has created tools called the miracle tools able to stop the evil Geo monsters from taking over the world, but when Mia and Nia are separated from their big sister, it's up to them to take over her duty and save the world from the deadly Geo forces. Okay now then the likes, the gameplay is pretty good basically you go from point A to point B and fight enemies along the way before fighting a boss, but what makes this game stand out as the fact that you can deflect enemy attacks back at them kind of like that one part in Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time where you bounce energy attacks at Ganon, it was pretty fun. You also have a sidekick, the sister Nia who flies on this magical Cube that shoots lasers which came in handy quite a lot when dealing with multiple enemies and bosses, you can also pick up upgrades for Mia's magical racket that allows her to jump longer or stop/slow down time or fly which added to the combat and traversing. The graphics are good it has a simple yet sort of anime style look with a great use of colors, simple designs it's pretty beautiful, I particularly like the anime style intro for the game it was very good and very pretty to look at, it reminded me of old flash animations from newground. The levels are good each one is a bit diverse with trains, forests and an ice covered abandoned Village that felt a bit hauntingly beautiful, it just made you want to stop and stare at it all. The enemies and bosses are good each one has its own unique and memorable look that's so simplistic yet detailed at the same it really shows what you can do with simple shapes and a nice color palette. The story was good had some nice twists and turns, some cute moments, sad and funny moments, it also had the sort of animeish kind of feel to it and has a nice setup for a sequel if the creator ever makes one. The characters were good each one had their own unique designs and personalities, I like the sisters Mia and Nia they were both adorable and I also liked Ace she was also kick ass and cool, but also very sweet and adorable. The music is very good with a lot of track that is just a joy to listen too and I'm surprised this game doesn't have a soundtrack DLC yet. The voice acting is good, but I do have a slight problem with it but that's for dislikes anyway each character sounds very good I think my favorite has to be the two sisters they're both adorable and I believe I recognize one of the sister voice actors because I think I've heard her voice in a few indie games and Flash cartoons. Okay now then the dislikes, there are some bugs in the game but nothing game breaking and nothing that a quick restart won't fix, also I do have a problem with the voice acting it's kind of random like some cutscenes will have voice acting, while others don't, it was kind of jarring, I felt like it definitely needed to be fully voice acted especially when you're playing the game and the characters are talking to one another, it's hard to read their dialogue balloons and fight enemies at the same time. Some of the bosses were annoying to fight particularly the two bosses before the final boss, they really sucked and they were very annoying to fight, I also don't like the second to last level of the boss fight because it's a boss rush and has you fight two annoying previous bosses and if you quit the game on the geo master you have to fight all the other bosses again. Lastly the game doesn't have any achievements which I don't know I feel like this game could have used some achievements. Alright with that all said and done with, Miracle Mia is a pretty good action adventure game, it has pretty good gameplay, good graphics and good enemies and bosses. So do I recommend this game yes I do, if you're looking for a simple game to play that isn't too expensive then I definitely recommend getting this.
A bit of an overdue review, this game has fun accessible pick up and play gameplay, adorable and unique art direction, characters and even the weapon of choice. I also love the soundtrack. I remember playing the Alpha of the game at a games convention some time back and gave it two thumbs up. Guess I missed the launch date but even so thanks to the developers for showcasing this charming game and also thanks for the collectible button by the way:) I still have it, and remembered this game because of it. bought it yesterday finally. Good luck with any ongoing and future projects!
