Minishoot’ Adventures is a Metroidvania with a top down view and bullet hell fights that can really fill up the screen. Those two statements also make it a unique game for me as I have not personally seen those two genres mixed together like this game does. The look of this game is great. The art is vibrant, simple and shapey with nice variation here and there. Each section of the game does a good job differentiating itself from one another. The enemies, NPCs and player character are all different enough to be destined which helps with the somewhat hecktick fights. And speaking on the fights, the different attacks really pop off the screen making them easy to see in the heat of things. The combat is also just fun. I have not played that many bullet hells but when I do I usually have a good time. This one's combat seems pretty standard for the genre but its base simplicity mixed with the small arsenal of tools that you get to use really made it a blast to fly around shooting things. The boss fights were a huge highlight in my opinion. So much stuff happening on screen with some challenging but not impossible patterns that made refighting not feel like ♥♥♥♥. The story was fine and not really a main point of the game as far as I can tell. Not that it was bad but just generic. What felt like much more of a focus was the exploration though. Unlocking new movement mechanics and traversal tools at a steady pace while finding new locations is a staple part of Metroidvania's and I think this game did a great job with that. I liked this game a lot and think anyone who likes Metroidvanias should enjoy this one. I know bullet hell can be a bit of a deciding factor for some people but it is worth it for sure.
TEN OUT OF TEN, NO NOTES
cute and fun but also kinda hard wtf
Strange mix of 'Pixeljunk Shooter' and 'Legend of Zelda'. Played primarily on my steam deck, no issues with fps or graphical glitches. A smooth experience from beginning to end.
