About 9 hours in and I absolutely love this game. I'm on the cusp of the last generation that grew up on this old 8/16 bit console era with the nes, SNES, Gameboy, gbc, and GBA and, man, this game feels like a lost gem pulled right from 2003. The aesthetics are amazing, the combat feels great once you get settled. There's definitely a wonderful twist of Zelda and soul elements, and I've been saying for years now Zelda walked so dark souls could run. Maybe one day we'll get a 3D combination, but this game perfectly scratches the old game itch I am actively playing this on a Lenovo Legion Gen 3 Tab via gamenative. Flawless 60 fps and the screen makes the game feel right at home. We're truly in a new era of gaming guys. Play this on your ayn pocket, Odin 3, your thor. It's where it's meant to be.
Great game!

very good
Classic.
I'm happy to see the love Mina the Hollower has and I think it's well deserved. I generally enjoy difficult games (Dark Souls, Celeste), I loved Shovel Knight, and though I'm old enough I didn't grow up playing either the og Zelda games or Castlevania. My feelings on Mina have shifted throughout completing its main story and I found myself relating to both the positive and negative reviews. If nothing else, the game deserves nuance, which I hope to provide. While I'm not it, this game absolutely has an audience. The combat is meticulous. Now is a good time to shed your poor combat habits from other games. Enemies are stronger, faster, and have more angles of attack than you do. Fighting well requires learning enemy attack patterns and dying is often a part of that process. Once you've learned the patterns, patience is still mandatory. If you want to stay alive, don't expect to be brawling with your enemies so much as taking pot shots during the moments when they're not hanging just barely out of weapon range. Mina's default evasion mechanic is burrowing, which requires you to first jump and land, and is magnitudes apart from the immediate dash, roll, or parry you might otherwise get in an action game. Mina's walking speed is *slow* - so you have to play around that. That said, I did enjoy the boss fights much more than those in the overworld or dungeons, likely because I dedicated more time and focus to learning them. I also like the healing potion system, which some don't. But hey, dying isn't all that terrible! Checkpoints are plentiful enough, allowing you to save your respawn location, spend unused currency, and change up your gear if need be. Use them often. Dying doesn't feel too bad unless you have to have to backtrack a lot or if you lose a lot of your currency - both of which can be mitigated with planning. Exploration and puzzles fill in between main story points. The platforming is also complex, precise, and not mutually exclusive to combat. Even if your timing is right, any and every low-level enemy has the ability to knock you off a ledge and send you back to the beginning. There are plenty of platforming sections I spent more time on than boss fights. Let's talk about the map. The game allows you to buy a region map, showing you the relative locations of the world's major regions without any route details. There are also road signs scattered here and there to point you in the general direction at crossroads. How areas connect between your walking (non-fast travel) paths is not at all intuitive, and is my biggest design critique of the game. Accessing a major, story-required area often requires the same amount of pinpoint observation or platforming as discovering one of the game's many secrets. You will get lost. You will backtrack. While Mina can be punishing, the game also provides you a slew of tools with which to work. Main weapons, secondary weapons, passive bonus "trinkets", and upgrades to your character's base stats all provide ways to overcome the many harsh challenges. There are shop items that make some of the more difficult platforming aspects trivial, if not non-existent. Mina also has a shocking number of assist/cheat modes available to turn off any specific detail of the game's difficulty you'd like (I didn't play with assists). P.S. Please read the in-game manual!
Probably my second favorite game now. Its hard, its awesome. Sprites and music are beautiful. Gameplay is hard but not too hard. Story is good. Only 20$ for 30+ hour game with new game plus and many achievements and modifiers. This is a masterpiece and a must play, you can see the love put into every level of this game, it deserves to be a GOTY in 2026. I dont think that anyone will make a better game than this in 2026 yes including that one. Its u must play and i have no bad things to say for this title, its a 10/10. Except one thing... DX12 only... really? This isnt a tough game to run, if it was i would understand but this would 100% work on an old laptop with an nvidia or amd gpu from 2010 that has dx11 at best, or heck even on intel hd it would probably fly. Btw it works fine on the gpus that have dx12 but only feature level dx11, if anyone even cares.
很不错的2D塞代餐,内容很足,很有众神和缩小帽内味,不过战斗会略微难一点,如果能接受tunic那种难度的话我觉得本作是很不错的。就是成就太难了TT 就此一周目全收集封盘吧
GOTY This game blew me away with it's world, characters and combat, it is a fun engaging game from start to finish with so many trinkets to master and secrets to find. The music is good, there's a lot of tracks I really enjoyed, especially the more melancholy tracks stuck to me but overall it's good, a few standout tracks and it does it's job otherwise. Also the 8 bit style is so well executed, it feels like a nes game was brought to the modern era, it's so clean and all of the designs are readable instantly. This game has challenge, fun gameplay, fun enemies and while straightforward, a memorable story. I'm so happy this game turned out as good as it did and more people should try it, especially any zelda or platforming enjoyers. Some of the later achievements are quite a pain to get but maybe I'll update this review when I reach 100%
