No revenue estimate for the App Store: Apple publishes no install counts, and its star-rating counts don't calibrate to sales the way Steam's written reviews do. Reviews and prices only.
The last ferry has gone. The shutters are down along the street, and the only bulb still burning is yours. Midnight Kiosk is a cooking game set at the counter of a small kiosk by the sea. Check the order, add what it asks for, put the toast on the grill, and take it while the needle is in the green. When the line grows, tea helps: it brews by itself, and a glass buys you a little more time with a customer who is running out of patience. THE COUNTER - Keep two grills going at the Pier, and three under the Bridge. - A perfect toast earns more tokens; a burnt one is thrown away. Serve without a mistake to build a streak. - Levels are short: the longest runs two and a half minutes. Each has three goals, and every goal you reach is a star. - Spend tokens on your counter: a strong burner, a thick plate, a big teapot, a tip jar, a warm welcome. THE STREET - Spend stars on the street: lights and a sign, a street lamp and a bench, the tea garden, an awning, the bakery, the pier gate. - Every repair stays, and changes the street in front of you. Most of them open new levels too. - A cat, flower pots, an olive tree and a bread-ring cart come for stars as well. They change nothing in play; they make the street nicer to come back to. THE REGULARS As the lights come back, so do old faces. Uncle Hasan waited for ferries on this bench for forty years, and stopped coming when the lamp went out. Mrs. Nermin did not believe the tea garden had reopened until she came to see; now she is bringing tomatoes from her garden. Captain Cemal's boat, his friend of fifty years, gets a fresh coat of paint. Ms. Leyla will tell the whole staff room tomorrow. There are twelve regulars. After each repair that opens levels, one of them stops by with two lines, and the second tells you what the next levels will bring. Their lines are voiced in English and Turkish. TWO DISTRICTS, 80 LEVELS - The Pier: toast, the tea garden, the night oven. - The Bridge: fish sandwiches under the bridge. Turn the fish in time, and get the tram running again. - Each district has 40 levels. After the first twenty the late shift opens: busier nights, and a second, finer state for places on the street. - Hard levels are marked on the map, so you know what is coming. LOOK AND SOUND - The sea behind the street moves a little and the far lights shiver on it. A ready glass of tea steams. - A waltz on the street, a sizzle at the counter. Music, ambience, effects, voices and haptics each have their own setting. - Portrait on iPhone; both orientations on iPad. - English and Turkish. ADS AND PURCHASES - Midnight Kiosk is free to download. Every level and every repair on the street opens through play, and no level needs a purchase. - The game has ads. A reward ad plays only when you choose one, to double a level's tokens or to get a life. Now and then, between levels you have won, an ad that you can close appears too. There are no ads in your first session. - “Remove Ads”, an optional purchase, takes away the ads between levels. Reward ads stay as a choice. - You have five lives. A level you do not win costs one, and a missing life comes back every 30 minutes. If you would rather not wait, a lives refill, continues, the Unlimited Lives Card and packs of these are optional purchases. - Stars and tokens are not sold. There are no loot boxes and no prize wheels. - No account is needed. Your progress is kept in your own iCloud and follows you to your other devices. Usage data is sent only if you say “Share”. IF YOU PLAYED AN EARLIER VERSION Version 2.0 is a new game, written from scratch, and outside Turkish it has a new name: Gece Büfesi is now Midnight Kiosk. The old six-night game is not in this version and its progress does not carry over; everyone starts at level 1 with the same rules. The neon decor pack sold in version 1 has no counterpart in this version.
