I think flight simulator is still a very good flight simulator dispite its age
Played this sim for years, prefer it to FS2020 and FS2024 of which I have both!
this game is good for low end pc's and have decent physics, planes selection is good, good library and TONSA of FREEWARE + PAYWARE addons.
Even at 80% off, this relic is a loading screen simulator I bought this during the Winter Sale for just 4.99€ (-80% off) thinking "hey, it's a classic flight sim, can't go wrong at that price." Boy, was I wrong. This game is a time capsule from 2006, and not in a good way. The loading times are absolutely horrendous – we're talking 5-10 minutes just to get into a flight, even on an SSD. It's like the game is buffering the entire history of aviation before letting you touch the controls. The menus and graphics? Completely outdated. The UI looks like it was designed in MS Paint by someone who hates usability, and the visuals are blurry, low-res mush that makes modern freeware look cutting-edge. Textures pop in and out like they're allergic to your GPU. And don't get me started on the tutorial voiceover. The speaker sounds like a Google Translate fever dream – robotic, emotionless, and rattling off lines in a monotonous drone that could put an insomniac to sleep. "Turn left rudder... apply power... climb to altitude..." Zzzzz. Even at that rock-bottom sale price, this is way too expensive. Save your money and time – fly a paper plane instead. Not Recommended

i know whats in your mind. there's no twin towers. dont buy.
Sadly does not work properly under Proton. Many different issues: * This is a Win32 product, and moans being under a Wine64 prefix * Needs the verdana font, but not easy to install, you need to download it and put it in the fonts folder * Some screens are black (not a new problem - I had this issue back under Windows 7) * Seems to work better under Proton 6 * Function keys seem to act like Alt-Tab (for me) Older Win XP/Vista era titles D3D titles are often still a bit ropey under Proton. You can just about get it to work with a lot of faffing, but it's almost not worth it. It was always an amazing product, and I've got many thousands of hours in FSX, and lots of addons... But sadly it needs a lot of focus from people who really understand all the error messages to get it working properly under modern Steam/Proton. It'd be awesome on Steamdeck, I think too. But MS abandoned FSX, sold some rights off to other companies and fired the entire team many years ago, so I don't think we'll get an update.
too many controls and it takes up a lot of space on my laptop. i'd recommend it if you're into flight simulators, don't mind learning a lot of keybinds, and have plenty of storage. i've only got 119 gb of storage, so it's a bit difficult for me. because of that, i'm refunding it. not gonna give it a dislike. yall still give it a try if you're the kind of person who enjoys flying, is comfortable with lots of controls, and has enough storage to spare.
Although this game isn't the newest, its still highly modded with AWESOME addons it can be almost as good as MSFS2020, and sinceits an old game it runs on any device, so worth the money!
