Metaphor: ReFantazio

A simple meal well made of a JRPG. Good turn based combat that when it starts to feel really monotonous the game is over. Main cast and side characters are likeable and have middling to pretty good stories. Worldbuilding left me wanting in parts and I'm tired of stories especially jrpgs being about racism when they don't have anything interesting to say about it. But it's not worse here than anywhere else just a personal gripe

目前大概玩到中後半段了 個人覺得畫風 遊玩系統都蠻棒的 很出色 雖然整體劇情偏黑暗沉重 但中間不時也有穿插一些幽默對話很有趣 唯一想說的就是迷宮真的他媽的很大很繞 而且很缺MP 升等也不會補滿HP/MP 有些怪也會反彈物理/魔法 畢竟這遊戲以回合制RPG來說容量蠻大的 城鎮探索方面比當初想像中還少(例如DQ11) 這我覺得有點可惜 可能空間都做給迷宮了吧~

a refreshing new take in the old persona formula. It can still be more polished in some aspects, but it is a great game.

a terrible progressive theme and narrative of a lame fantasy world with no depth or story a jumble mess and a disappointment to see that games have fallen so low that a main game is praised and loved for being a c team game with no heart or soul

Good story, great world-building, and not a forgiving difficulty unlike the persona series

This game has many flaws, but not enough to outweigh the pros. Metaphor is a really great game purely combat and story wise, but I think it falls very short on the bond episodes and what happens in them since the only bonds I kinda cared about were Brigitta, Bardon and Maria. The game also felt very short and very long at the same time. All dungeons have a lot of time between them, but nearly all of the dungeons are extremely short which always led to me feeling like 'Really? That was the whole thing?'. And because of all that the huge amount of time that they gave me felt mostly like padding the game to make it longer for the sake of it being longer. I also think that outside of the bonds you don't really get to see much of the main casts personalities and interactions with one another which led to me caring less for the main cast. Nontheless I think that Metaphor is a great game with probably my favorite combat system out of all the Atlus games that I played (Agility maxing for the win) and a pretty good and nicely wrapped up story which leads to me mostly ignoring my shortcomings with the game. I give Metaphor a 9/10.
