Metamorph is a short, surreal horror-dating sim where you play as a high school girl slowly turning into a cockroach. You’ve got just a few days to win over your crush before your transformation is complete, and things get weirder by the minute. It’s a strange little game—part visual novel, part body horror, part awkward teen comedy. Pros: ✔️ Unique Concept: The idea of mixing a dating sim with Kafka-esque body horror is wild, and I’ve never played anything quite like it. ✔️ Multiple Paths: There are at least four different routes to take, which adds some replay value. ✔️ Fun Minigames: The minigames sprinkled throughout were surprisingly enjoyable and broke up the narrative nicely. Cons: ❌ Very Short: The whole thing wraps up in about an hour, which felt rushed. ❌ Linear Feel: Despite the different paths, the game felt pretty linear. Your choices don't seem to drastically change the outcome opposed to just the relationship with your love interest. ❌ Inconsistent Aesthetic: The mix of hand-drawn and 3D art styles didn't always mesh well, and the 3D elements felt a bit unpolished. Conclusion: I’m not upset I played Metamorph—it’s a bizarre, memorable experience—but I didn’t feel compelled to go back and explore all the different options. It’s a neat concept that could use a bit more polish and depth. Score: 7 out of 10 antennae—a creepy-crawly adventure that’s short and strange, but worth a look if you're into the weird.
