Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 55/day in the week to Aug 28 → 71.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

【STORY】
THE ILLUSION OF PEACE FALTERS
In 1964, after saving the world from all-out nuclear war, Naked Snake, a true hero, receives the name Big Boss, but he disappears shortly after the naming ceremony.
Ten years later, Big Boss is running an independent military unit in Columbia, when he is visited by two individuals from Costa Rica, a country without a military.
In a post-Cuban Missile Crisis world, and in a Central America essential to maintaining the power balance between East and West, Costa Rica has been miraculously able to maintain peace.
However, a mysterious armed group has been seen acting suspiciously throughout the region.
They request Big Boss to investigate and eliminate the armed group.
Though he hesitates to accept the request because the tape they brought contained the voice of The Boss, who was supposed to be dead.

Just as I remember it.

If you've already played Peace Walker on PSP (or the HD version on consoles) then this is just that! It's extremely similar to the PS3 edition, with only minor additions to make things work on current systems. The added master and screenplay books are interesting to peruse but don't add very much to the whole experience. I understand why they don't include things like developer interviews and concept art, but I still wish they were there. There's also (some) added support for different control schemes and higher resolutions. I you AREN'T familiar with Peace Walker, then this is THE definitive way to play one of my favorite games in the series. While things are scaled down to accommodate the PSP, it's still a full Metal Gear experience. The stealth feels fantastic at 60 FPS and boss fights are explosive and exciting, alone or with friends. Ballooning enemies away to collect them like Pokémon is probably the best mechanic ever added to the series. Peace Walker's story remains one of my favorites and a worthy follow up to MGS3. For me, all the new characters are a hit and the cassette tape "codec" conversations are fun to listen to (even if some of them take a LONG time to collect). Early in development, PW was referred to as MGS5 and it absolutely deserves that title: I consider it more critical to the story of Big Boss than even MGSV. AFTER you finish the main story though, the game just keeps going. The post-game will be nearly as long as the main story for most and if you decide to play EVERYTHING, the post-post-game will be 2-3 times longer than that. Speaking of the endgame, that's where it does stumble a bit: there are so many vehicle fights and three tiers of mechs that you must complete to get to the highest tier of weapons and the final sneaking missions. It kind of kills the pace. Playing with friends will speed things up, but it's still hours of grinding. Peace Walker, as a portable and non-numbered entry in the series, has a reputation as "the one people skip" but I hope people don't anymore with this new master edition. It's an excellent Metal Gear (dare I say one of the best) and this is a good way to play it.
