Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 102.43/day in the week to Aug 28 → 237.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Everyone is here
War has changed

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 2: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Without doubt the best MGS game ever made is MGS 3 Snake Eater but this one is the second one to me. I really wish MGS V had never happened and this was the last MGS game storywise created to end the storyline. The boss fights are brilliants, they are packed with nostalgic elements from MGS 1, when you return to Shadow Moses Island and then the Best is Yet to Come song starts playing... MAN WHAT A FEELING! There are a lot of B movie plot holes in the story in this one unlike the previous MGS games but overall the gameplay is decent, it is a lot easier than previous MGS games even on extreme difficulty it is not challenging at all unlike MGS 3. You can buy ammo anytime as long as you have DB points to spend on the shop, you can get any gun you want anytime you want as well and your health regenerates if you crouch pretty fast. The port is really good it easily handles 4K on ultra settings and DX12. The only negative point is the Liquid Snake final boss battle which without doubt is one of the worst ones in history, it is almost as boring as MGS1 final boss battle as a matter of fact it is exactly the same one...
The original release of this game was why I bought a PS3. I played it so much I had unlocked absolutely everything possible, and I'm about to do it again (eventually). 10/10 on all fronts.
I played this game when it was released for PS3. The story hits so hard, Boss
extremely solid port of a fantastic game/movie. featureset should only improve over time with patches and mods, but even at launch it runs at a locked 60fps at 4k with a full graphics settings menu.
While many disagree, to me this is the ultimate MGS experience, while 1 2 and 3 are each excellent on their own, i think MGS4 is just the pinacle of both gameplay and cinematic experience. Gameplaywise, the game is perfect to me, the movement and stealth action have this fluidity and smoothness that previous MGS do not have, the movement options given to the player make the stealth experience very satisfying and unique since you have so many options to deal with the enemies. Also the weapon variety is awesome, there are like 60 different weapons you can use, some having unique abilities. The octo camo while being simple, is so fun to play with, very satisfying for stealth and very fun, i always find myself pressing againts different surfaces just to discover different camo patterns. The cinematic side might be what people dislike the most about this game, since the are like 9 hours of cutscenes throughout the game, but i mean if you don't want to watch cutscenes then you can just skip them, the game is very open to skipping basically 95% of cutscenes, i myself skip them every playthrough since i like the gameplay more. But if you give the cutscenes a shot, they are awesome, at least to me, it is literally like watching a very good movie, i just don't see the problem of having very good (while yeah maybe a bit too long) cutscenes with the option to just skip if you don't feel like not playing for 10-20 minutes. And if you're gonna go with the "MGS4 is silly" route (Raiden breakdancing with Gekko tied up to his legs, Akiba ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ himself, all the pervert B&B stuff, many many more), i just think MGS was always like this, maybe MGS1 a bit less but come on, Snake having to find out who Meryl is by looking at her ass? Raiden getting his balls grabbed by the president? EVA hitting Young Ocelot with a motorcycle shoryuken? Yeah, MGS was always like this, 4 just made it way more exotic and flashy, and to me it turned out great, i love all the over the top stuff like Vamp and Gekkos vs Raiden. I think the worst part about this MGS is the lore, its way less interesting at least to me than 1 2 and 3, but i personally don't care that much about lore so i can ignore that part. Easter eggs and secrets: this game has so much secrets and hidden interactions that really give the game charm. MGS was always like this, its just that 4 being the "last classic MGS" did it in a very nostalgic (fan service tbh) way, and i love it. As a completionist: i really enjoy 100%ing this game, its very replayable and you can finish a playthrough in like 3-4 hours easy, maybe its a bit much that you have to beat the game 8 times at least to earn all emblems (and ♥♥♥♥ that 35 hour requirement for the chicken emblem), but the gameplay makes it easy for me to just replay this game over and over again. Honorable mention to the Rex vs Ray robot fight, its so out of place but so fun to play, i always look forward to that fight. TL;DR This game is the ultimate classic MGS experience, with very solid gameplay and very good cutscenes, although you might want to be in the mood for watching a movie-like if you plan on watching all cutscenes.
thanks kojima
