Aged like fine wine. Had never played it and i have LOOOVED it. A game from 2004 has brough me more more emotions and joy than any new game i have played in a while.
Wow this game is amazing. The port is terrible, you need MGSHDFix and MGS3 Better Audio mods for sure, but the game is just phenomenal. Ill start with complaints, Virtuous mission is rough, its non stop cutscenes for like or 3 hours or something and it throws the pacing off like crazy. The game is too easy, I played on hard and once you figure out certain mechanics and how enemies work, its easy in a poorly balanced way and my final criticism, the game, even when peacefully taking out bosses, plays cutscenes acting like you killed them, I wish this wasnt the case but I understand why. The game is great in spite of my criticism, the previous games have MAJOR pacing issues and poor story beats that this game largely lacks, this game has an amazing cutscene to gameplay ratio which is also something I cant say for the previous games. The gameplay is also so amazing, so many uses for so many different things, stealth is great, many different areas to sneak around and many different tactics. This game is so good.

как и прошлые две части - абсолют мастерпис, в конце не стыдно пустить скупую мужскую слезу
good
This is probably my favorite game of all time and I can't 100% it because the achievements are bugged. If you don't care about that then it's not too bad. It's got an ok modding scene.
this game is absolutely amazing
The Most Iconic Game Of The MGS Franchise (in my opinion)

Metal Gear Solid 3...Where should I even start with this review?
I remember back in 2018, I used to watch gameplay videos of MGS 3, and I started to like this game's concept of how it portrays the Cold War and parts of the Space Race between the US and the USSR. I won't spoil the story of MGS 3, so don't worry about that. I also apologise if this is way too long.
New Mechanics

The New CQC System
Metal Gear Solid 3 was the first game that introduced CQC aka Close-Quarters Combat as a major game mechanic. In MGS 3 there are fewer CQC options than in later titles, where you could do much more, but that doesn't mean it isn't still fun. I'll give you the link for the controls.
The Camoflauge System
Believe it or not, Metal Gear Solid 3 was the first Metal Gear game that introduced the camouflage system that we see in later games. This is a crucial mechanic to remain unseen.
The Cure System
If you've played the earlier titles you might know that you needed to eat rations to recover health from damage. Well, MGS 3 changed this entirely. You can no longer heal by using rations, but with using Life Medicine, which was added to the game or by resting while lying on the ground. And now you can have medical injuries such as: Bone Fracture, Cut, Gunshot Wound, Burn and lots of other injuries that you can cure in the Survival Viewer.
Stamina System
In previous games you could sprint infinitely without any issues. However, in Metal Gear Solid 3 you cannot sprint forever. Your stamina drains over time and to recover stamina you can eat food or listen to a secret healing radio via codec.
Recommended Mods
Metal Gear Solid 3 came out around 22 years ago so it is really old now and it sadly has glitches, bugs and other outdated stuff that were good when it released. Now I do know that some of the issues that I had to install mods for were patched very recently but I still recommend you checking out TheRedDragons Guide, which helped me to solve some optimization problems, so shoutout to him.
Overall
I really like Metal Gear Solid 3 because of its gameplay, humor, and cutscenes and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys stealth games. (Also, here are my PC specs if anyone was wondering)
