Reviews
I dont usually write serious reviews, nor do i write them before finishing the game fully, but this time around i just had to - a game from 2001, when people had no touchscreen phones, internet access was niche, mostly used for emails or work, wiki didnt exist, algorithms didnt exist, etc etc., yet, it depicts our current times so chillingly accurate - about the weapons of mass destruction, inevitable wars and thirst for power and control that brings them, politicians used as puppets from behind the scenes, media used as a weapon by the elites (digital censorship, narratives being pushed or twisted, informational overload, noise drowning out facts and truth, internet meme culture, conspiracies, birth of AI, algorithms curating your feed and mind, etc). Kojima really caught the growing wave the digital world was, and still is today, and tried to answer the question of where all this would lead to - he understood that part of the human mind that always seeks information, and how exploitable that is - that whoever controls the filters of what you see, hear, perceive, experience, is the one who truly holds the reins. perhaps the shock value came from my expectations of a parodic and americanized movie-like game, instead i got hit with a political/philosophical thriller with smut and exaggerated elements for the subtle comedic nature. while MGS1 and MGS3 are more iconic for their meme status, MGS2 is hands down a serious masterpiece beneath all the surrealism and exaggeration, 10/10.
My Metal is solid

Stellar game, less obtuse controls compared to the first (still very obtuse). I feel like Raiden is a decently compelling character, but Snake is, of course, better. The ending was lovely.
What another masterpiece!
