Fun little time management game with mini games. You go to each island and gather resources and disable totems with objectives to complete and all in a time limit. Then the mini games : one is you on ship and pirate ship has come and you have to shoot cannons and repair ship at same time, if pirate damage bar goes to zero - you win, if you run out of energy - pirates win (you get energy from repairing the holes the pirate ship makes - but you do run out of repair materials at some point) and at same time the pirate ship throws ropes with anchors on your ship and little men with bombs walk over. if that bomb goes off on your ship , you lose. **Little hint** you don't have to remove all the anchors (it takes alot of energy) just click on the little men on rope till they disappear before they drop the bomb. The second mini game after the ship is the one that gets a little harder later and requires sufficient time management and planning , as you have to get all the chests to be able to move on to the next level. there was only 2 of those chest stages that i had to play over a few times to make it. After the last stage , the bonus stages open. Those were fairly easy until the last bonus chest stage - that one is incredibly difficult. All in All a very fun little game - kept me busy for 2 days :)
Merchants of the Caribbean, developed by GameOn Production and published by Alawar Casual, is a time management strategy game that builds upon familiar mechanics while attempting to add a slightly deeper layer of economic decision-making. Set in a stylized version of the Caribbean filled with pirates, traders, and light fantasy elements, the game follows Jack Savvy, a young merchant determined to establish his own trading empire while competing with rivals and chasing the promise of legendary treasure. The premise provides a thematic backdrop that blends adventure with commerce, though the experience itself remains firmly rooted in structured, level-based gameplay. At its core, the game revolves around managing resources and completing objectives within time limits, a structure that will feel immediately recognizable to fans of the genre. Each level tasks players with clearing obstacles, gathering materials, constructing buildings, and fulfilling specific goals as efficiently as possible. The challenge comes from juggling multiple tasks at once, deciding how to allocate workers, and determining the best order in which to complete objectives. This creates a steady rhythm where success depends on both planning ahead and reacting quickly to changing conditions. What sets Merchants of the Caribbean apart from more straightforward time management titles is its emphasis on production and trade. Instead of simply collecting raw resources, players are encouraged to process materials into more valuable goods, which can then be sold or used to progress. This introduces a basic economic layer, where managing supply and demand becomes part of the strategy. Deciding whether to stockpile resources, convert them into higher-value products, or sell them at the right moment adds a level of decision-making that goes beyond simple task completion. While these systems are not deeply complex, they provide enough variation to make the gameplay feel more involved than average. The game also introduces occasional diversions from the standard formula, such as light naval encounters and environmental challenges. These moments add some variety to the experience, breaking up the cycle of resource gathering and construction. However, these features are relatively simple and do not significantly alter the overall structure, functioning more as thematic additions than fully developed mechanics. The primary focus remains on optimizing efficiency within each level rather than exploring entirely new gameplay systems. Progression is handled through a series of levels that gradually increase in complexity. Early stages serve as an introduction, teaching the basics of resource management and production, while later levels require more precise planning and multitasking. The pacing works well in short sessions, making the game easy to pick up and play, but the incremental nature of its progression can also lead to repetition. While new elements are introduced over time, they tend to build on existing mechanics rather than transform them, which can make later stages feel familiar. The narrative plays a secondary role, providing context for the player’s actions without driving the experience forward in a meaningful way. The rivalry between characters and the pursuit of treasure add flavor, but the story remains straightforward and predictable. Characters are functional rather than deeply developed, and most of the storytelling is delivered through brief exchanges that serve to connect the levels. Visually, the game adopts a bright and colorful style that aligns with its casual design. Environments are varied and easy to read, which is essential for maintaining clarity during fast-paced gameplay. Animations are simple but effective, clearly indicating progress and activity without unnecessary detail. The presentation is polished within the expectations of the genre, though it does not attempt to stand out with particularly distinctive artistic choices. The audio design complements the experience with light, upbeat music and clear sound effects that reinforce player actions. While the soundtrack does not leave a strong impression, it supports the overall tone and pacing effectively, maintaining a consistent atmosphere throughout the game. Despite its solid foundation, the game’s reliance on established mechanics limits its ability to stand out. While the added economic elements provide some depth, they do not evolve significantly over time, and the overall experience remains predictable for those familiar with the genre. The repetition inherent in its structure can reduce long-term engagement, especially for players looking for more variety or innovation. In the end, Merchants of the Caribbean delivers a competent and enjoyable time management experience with a slight strategic twist. It succeeds in providing a steady and accessible gameplay loop that rewards efficiency and planning, even if it does not push the genre in new directions. For players who enjoy structured resource management and casual strategy, it offers a satisfying, if somewhat conventional, adventure. Rating: 6/10
Very enjoyable though some levels were very challenging. It's like many point and click time management games, but requires a lot more strategy, which was a really nice change of pace!
If you like casual games, this is a good one! No micro-transactions. At 2.2 hours I'm about halfway through.
Отличная игра
I wanted to like this, but trying to get 3 stars and all the achievements on "normal" is a joke - the difficulty levels should be renamed easy and extreme. The concept of having production chains is great, but the sea battles are the least fun minigame I've ever played and spoil what should be a decent time management game. I'm just glad it cost less than a cup of coffee when I bought it.
Bon jeu dans le style, très tourné sur l'économie. Il y a deux succès que j'ai validés dans le jeu mais qui ne sont pas validés pas sur Steam (Discoverer et Master of the Seas), dommage.
This game started fun but after three hours of gameplay on easiest setting I got to a board that I tried multiple times and failed. Game had such potential.
no fun not able to save the game and money as they level waste of time
boring
