OneLine with many interesting mechanics and a cat theme.
[b]What is it:[/b] A OneLine game, you have to draw a path through every cell in a grid from the starting point to the designated end. Various mechanics are introduced along the way: forced direction tiles, forced order tiles, paired teleporters, timed tiles that allow or block passing only at certain times, forced movement tiles that automatically move you N tiles in a specific direction, locks and their toggle tiles, and reset tiles that clear the previously drawn path when you first land on them.
There are many dozens of good looking background images, randomly selected every time you start or restart a level, all with a cat theme. You can also use one of three cat avatars. If you’re not a fan of cats, you can disable the background images, and you can use a simple dot for the avatar.
I solved most of the game on autopilot, but there were plenty of levels that I had to pause and think about too, so this is good for both casual players looking for a relaxing cat-themed time, and for puzzle lovers looking for a little brain teaser. The mechanics are used effectively, often combined to achieve different kinds of puzzles. This doesn’t feel like a classic OneLine, but a lot more thinky.
[b]How hard is it:[/b] Mostly easy. The last level is the only one that gave me a hard time.
[b]How long is it:[/b] 100 levels, 1-3 hours, 3 levels unlocked at any time.
[b]Level design:[/b] Good enough, not too hard, but not obviously flawed either, each level seems to be actually designed and tested.
[b]Quality:[/b] Good enough for a simple game. Decent levels with interesting mechanics. No real undo, but most of the time you can just move backwards. Fast restart, decent level select. Keyboard, mouse and controller supported, but not rebindable. A few audio and video settings, as well as the ability to remove cat imagery and some of the sounds. Cloud saving, 100 spammy achievements. The game is fast and responsive while playing a level, but the transition between levels takes a while, with each solved tile being removed and each new tile being added one by one.
[b]Worth the price:[/b] Yes.
[b]Most positive aspect for me:[/b] A good, relaxing OneLine with extra mechanics.
[b]Most negative aspect for me:[/b] Too much delay between levels.
