Good old game
Good vibes
Genuinly ♥♥♥♥ and ball torture probably the worst game in the series i hate it so much.

Oh boy where do i begin? Out of 13 missions, you are basically tasked to clear out enemy trenches and take out AA or AT guns in all of them, with some "defend this position for x amount of time" thrown in a couple of levels. I had fun in the first like 6-8 mission but starting from mission 9 the game becomes a chore to play. On paper the concept is solid, you are controlling the soviet penal battalion as they get sent into the worst meat grinder battles against overwhelming odds, often clearing the path for the main force to arrive and save the day, sounds good right? well its not. For starters, this game is NOT an RTS game, its a puzzle game. You get a handful of infantry and a couple of mortar squads (if you are lucky), you get absolutely no reinforcements to your units, so you get stuck with 10-20 people at max in a mission, having to complete it while the game throws 200-400 germans at you. I cannot stress it enough, this game wants to throw you into overwhelming odds and suicide missions but wont give you more than two squad of squishy infantrymen. Having to conserve your 20 men like they are some kind of special forces unit, while having absolutely nothing but a few rifles and a handful of ammo to go with it. You NEED to scavange ammo and bandages constantly, while desperately trying to acquire enemy AT guns, Tanks and mortars because you absolutely need it, the whole thing is like a big puzzle trying to figure out where you can cheese the enemy AI so they cannot shoot you, while you plummel trenches and emplacements with mortars. Worst part is that no AT or MG emplacement can be shot trough from the front, they are 100% bulletproof and their vision range is longer than your grenades can reach. The AI is horrendous, they sit in their trenches, never pushing forward except armored cars and tanks, so often you just have to sacrifice a man or two to manage a grenade thrown under AA guns and machine gun emplacements, and that would be fine.... IF THEY WOULD GIVE YOU MORE THAN 20 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ MEN ON A MISSION, I often struggled to complete at least 50% of the campaing with only 1 man left. Those AT, AA, Machine gun emplacements can mow your men down in seconds, half of your forces can be gone by a single mortar shell and the whole thing just feels unfair and hopeless. I've completed the game, and savescumming became a norm by the end. Not to decide how to approach, but becase your guys sometimes just sit there with a blank stare while getting shot at, not returning fire, even though if you take direct controll you can easily hit them back, they often get stuck and wont fit trough places where you can go trough if you manually move them ect.. Missions are repetitive and take so long to complete, friendly AI often gets stuck looking at an enemy in the building, not advancing untill they die, but unable to kill them themselves. You never get given a sinlge tank to help you out,(none that you controll anyway) les you capture one and fix it up yourself, but repair kits are only found in very very few missions and often the whole battle just stops and becomes a staring contest untill you push forward yourself with your precious few men.... I cannot recommend this game, I had fun with it for a while, but the whole thing feels half-baked and barely working. Some enemies are unkillable in buildings (AT grenades can knock them down only along with the whole floor they are in). Only experienced one crash, so no complains on that, although on the last few city leves the game freezes often after killing stuff, and I had to replay mission 9 twice (which was one of the worst ones) because the game didn't registrer the HQ as captured, even though there were 0 enemies left in the whole map. If you skip it, you wont miss much, story is practically non-existant and the gameplay is a 3/10 at best, hardly feels like a man of war game and more like a cheap spinoff.
