Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 10.56/day in the week to Aug 4 → 9.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
Reccommendation
Short answer: triple 'yes' , way better game, than those so-called (but not so- earned) AAA, AAAA, AAAAA+ and super-square-AAAAAAAAAA+ - games (I mean: are we S&P, rating a country or a financial product?)
'Warning'
In my personal case, this game is really addictive.
Disclaimer
This is the first time, I ever cared about formatting my feedback on a game, this sums it up nicely.
Background
One of the first 3d Games i ever played was MW3 back in the 90s and the BattleTech series as well as the lore, the games and the books around it never failed to amaze me. MW5 Mercs is a true BattleTech game, even though it's considered apocryphical content.
short game review
The game mechanics are really good, the vanilla story and all DLCs cought me and never let me go. It is a prime example for a game placed in an existing universe, made by people who love the lore and what they are doing. Thanks to the developers.
Quirks
sometimes in the early stages, the game had its quirks and crashes, but who am I to complain, if the developers are doing their best and fix those unnerving issues. there were also times, when the game was stuttering like someone asking another person out for the first time in their life. But as we all got better on this, the developers put effort in it and fixed it.
correlation
I really enjoyed the content presented by MW5 Mercs (with all DLCs), especially when you play MW5 - Clans https://store.steampowered.com/app/2000890/MechWarrior_5_Clans/ with all DLCs as well, which really sucked me in (story) and correlated nicely. https://store.steampowered.com/app/637090/BATTLETECH/ got my strategy love. all of them are - from my personal point of view - very recommandable.
Last but not least:
A very BIG thank you to the very active modding community, who deliver updates for their own mods days after a major release. Many SW-companies could learn a lot from you.

Лучший MechWarrior, затянул на неделю с головой!
This is an incredible game. I pulled MechWarrior 3 off the shelf at wall mart when i was around 12. They had a vison that was pretty captivating to me then. This is really beyond the scope of anything i ever imaged for MechWarrior, or really any game really. This is a huge star map of locations, a very big game and immersive story, if you get the coop working is just a blast to venture through all day with the different campaigns and missions, very full of narratives and dictation between the different group in battle, out of battle, in between. I bought the "inner sphere bundle", so i have all the dlc but 3 at the moment including the new one coming. Can't wait to fill my collection, even though i know I've hardly even touched what i bought. I have spent enough time I do want to leave a good review early. certainly one of the most comprehensive mech experiences ever, not just from these developers.
A very enjoyable and simple shoot at the bad guys game. Runs pretty well, with FPS drops during dense cities or 3 enemy lances on your head. Rarely crashes, and only when I modded it beyond reason. While there is some ups and downs in my first 99 hours of the game, it was pretty easy to pick up the basics and enjoy not being in debt all the time. The base game with no DLC is a pretty decent experience, and if modded (ex; YAML), can give you plenty of enjoyable hours of playtime, just playing around the Inner Sphere, collecting mech, customizing, and smashing bad guys. As for The story, it's typical, but for me, it's fine. A bit forgettable tho. I personally recommended picking up Heroes of the Inner Sphere for the full experience, and for high value DLCs, maybe pick up Shadows of Kerensky or Chaos Reign, as they have the most new content added. (I also recommend just waiting for a sale rather than immediately buying. Yes, the DLCs adds a lot of new content, but the base game is enough most of the time, and you only really need HOTIS for practically the MW5 Mercenary experience.) The other DLCs I've tried are more niche (LOTKL, ROS), or story sided. Definitely worth to pick up if you're interested in the story side. I've personally enjoyed Rise of Rasalhague the most, even with the alright storyline. Though I don't really know about Dragon's Gambit or Solaris Showdown, or Call to Arms as I haven't bought them. The only issues or downsides I find are questionable AI lances, limited commands to said lances, and base game costumization can be pretty barebone compared to the modded experience.
The AI is so bad. Enemy mechs in Arena will stay in their spawn stationary until I have to go over and attack them one at a time, which puts me at a huge disadvantage since I can't repair in-between.
fun game!
Big robot. stomp stomp.
Much fun, very wow. If you like mechs, and blowing stuff up, and playing with friends, it's a great time!
it was just a plain good experience.
Mechwarrior 5 Mercenaries lacks in a lot of areas. But yet I keep finding myself coming back to it because it is just... fun. And while the guns could be punchier sounding, the bugs could be snipped and fixed, and the overall amount of content improved... the game is a great starting point. Would absolutely recommending the DLCs and then maybe even poking around with what the community has done. And none of this is to say that they haven't been updating the base game, they have! they have been patching bugs and errors and even adding small things here and there in the updates. Realistically, this game feels like a puzzle, and once you have assembled the pieces to it, magic can happen... even on the battlefield. Grab your friends, Grab your mechs... and figure out which one you will blame it on when your party goes down and you are bankrupt. And remember that Comstar is always watching.
