Developer completely screwed the folks who paid for the early access version. Early access is not meant to be crowd funding. These people need to start using kickstarter if they can’t get some funding up-front. Early Access is meant to be a way to get your community involved in the development while they provide feedback in realtime. Devs like this are why early access shouldn’t exist. Update: If you think that Early Access is supposed to be a means to crowd fund development, Steam says, very clearly, in their Early Access directions to devs that it is not.
Brilliant Game. GOTY contender, I have never played a better game in my whole life. Big thanks to all the people who made this masterpiece! (I'm one of the devs but I'm giving a completely objective and neutral review)
Its really challenging and fun to play I love games like ghostrunner , Doom , Neon White and this one gives me a very similar feeling. I have been following these devs for a while and I have to honestly say the game have improved a lots and It’s fun, fast, and engaging. We should really be positive about games like this and support them so they can reach a wider audience. Recently, gaming as a whole has been in a rough state, but indie games like this help the industry heal. And also, guys—don’t miss the Easter eggs! It’s really fun to explore and find everything hidden in the game.
Perfect game for boomer shooter enjoyers with a grappling twist. If you enjoy games like Doom, Ultrakill, etc this will feel like home. Love the soundtrack too, will be looking forward to the next episode!
A challenging (for this middle aged guy) movement shooter that understands what it wants to do and does it well
You wake up in what appears to be a strange laboratory, with no memory of how you ended up there or why. Confusion quickly turns to horror when you realize your right arm has been grotesquely transformed into a metallic claw. It doesn’t take long to piece together who’s responsible for this: a deranged scientist obsessed with replacing human beings with machines. As soon as you gain control, one of the first things you notice is how fast and fluid your movement feels. Unlike many games where you hold down a sprint button, here speed is natural because you’re always moving quickly. Instead of sprinting, you’re given access to a dash ability, which recharges the moment your feet touch a solid surface such as a wall or the ground. On flat ground, you can chain dashes almost infinitely, allowing for nonstop momentum. Wall-running adds another layer, letting you extend movement vertically or across surfaces. However, wall-runs are only possible on specific walls, preventing you from abusing the mechanic anywhere you please. These skills are essential for beating the game. Each stage is carefully designed with obstacles, traps, and enemies that test your reflexes. The levels themselves are linear, so you never have to worry about wandering off track. Instead, the challenge comes from balancing your platforming prowess with your combat abilities. Standing in your path are robotic enemies that exist solely to stop you, and they won’t go down without a fight. Combat blends martial arts with gunplay. Your default kick is surprisingly versatile because it deals respectable damage and can even smash through doors. Firearms are also available, and you never lose them when collected. Guns have limited ammunition, meaning you can’t rely on them constantly. Still, running out of bullets never feels punishing because your melee strikes remain effective. The only real moments where conserving ammo matters is when you need to shoot environmental targets such as switches, lights, or mechanisms that open doors and trigger platforms. Fortunately, ammo pickups are common and usually placed near puzzles that require them. After the first level, you unlock a skill where you can fire a bullet and immediately kick it. This move is powerful, letting you pierce through shields, strike multiple enemies in a line, deal critical damage, or leave foes stunned. Stunning enemies opens opportunities for finishers. By grapple-kicking toward a stunned opponent, you trigger a flashy kill animation that not only eliminates them but also drops health. The star of your arsenal, however, is your claw. It’s both a tool for movement and a weapon for combat. You can grapple onto enemies or drones, pulling yourself toward them. While the claw doesn’t deal damage on its own, combining it with a kick creates devastating aerial attacks. Also, grappling into an enemy and striking mid-air launches you higher, allowing you to chain assaults repeatedly until they’re destroyed. Against flying drones, this technique becomes invaluable, letting you soar through the air while maintaining momentum. Dying, while frequent, isn’t too punishing. Falling into pits results in instant death, and charging headfirst into groups of enemies can drop your health in seconds. Yet the game is generous with checkpoints, ensuring you never lose much progress. The only real frustration comes from unskippable cutscenes that replay each time. Beyond straightforward progression, there are collectibles hidden across levels. These often require sharp eyes or mastery of movement mechanics to reach. Once found, collectibles are saved permanently, so you don’t need to grab them again if you die. Later in the game, you acquire a phone that expands gameplay further. With it, you can track which collectibles you’ve gathered in a stage, read lore entries about boss enemies, and even scan in-game QR codes that unlock wallpapers for the phone. Since the title is still in early access, only part of the full experience is available. There are also some technical hiccups, including occasional stuttering that can ruin a precise jump. Despite this, the core gameplay shines.
Tried the demo, now playing early access what a leap forward. The devs clearly love what they’re making, and I’m excited to see where it goes. Positive review from me
Let me open by saying that I have been following these devs for a while. I have been a part of their initial play test and also played the Demo for the same. I am so excited that this game is out albeit in early access. There is still a long road ahead and many kinks to work out but I can tell you this much, these guys love what they do and I can see the passion this small steam has put into this game developing it from a bare bones boomer shooter blockout to this . We need to Support the small indie guys and that's what I am gonna do. Leaving a Positive review because I am positive about this games bright future!
Bit challenging, took me a while to figure out how to fight the Slayer boss. Can't wait for Episode 2!
Plenty of fun, especially for the price. Works on Linux with Proton Hotfix, only a few minor bugs that I've run into
