MoO 1 is one of my favorite DOS games. Coming back to it occasionally to see if I enjoy it and for roughly 7 years of playing it. Does it hold up in 2026? Yes! Anyone could pick up and play this while enjoying MoO in all its cheese. Before you there go pick up this game, there are a few things I would recommend if you are new to this DOS thing though. Build-in copyright protection. Its in the game and thankfully its not hard to figure out. If you are looking to buy this I would first look up on your browser (preferably on a phone) "MoO1 Ships" and click images. Everything you need to beat the protection is right there. Tons of people enjoy the next title more just sticking a two at the end but I've come to see why that is the case. Until we meet again in the stars. I'll be reviewing MoO2 next. (( RECOMMENED FOR: +Tight 4x gameplay, no BS starts with two scouts and a colony ship right away +Unique alien leaders to interact with +Explains what all faction traits are at the beginning of NG +Decent soundboard +Tutorial hints appear NG +One of the best DOS games to ever exist )) Reviewers note: Would recommend playing normal with three other factions for your first time. Other than that go nuts!
One of the First and Best Space Domination games.
