Such a classic, deserves to be loved more than it should.

The prequel to Day of the Tentacle, Maniac Mansion hasn't had the graphical rework that Day of the Tentacle has, which is a shame, but if you are a completionist and you play with the right characters, you will understand the reference at the start of Day of the Tentacle when he says "We gotta go back to the Mansion.....". I played this game on my first IBM computer when I got it, and this is purely a reminiscing purchase for me, having booted up Day of the Tentacle and reminding myself that it was a sequel.

I bought both this and Day of the Tentacle.

Es un clasico que tenes que jugar al menos una vez en tu vida, es uno de los pilares de las aventuras graficas point and click, ademas que se le suma la dificultad, que ocurren cosas en tiempo real y podes cagarla, asi que mas vale que vayas salvando la partida bastante seguido. JUEGAZO!

Streamlined controls make exploring Dr. Fred’s creepy mansion a delight, though some puzzles stay tricky. A must-play for fans like me and newcomers alike!

Maniac Mansion is a true classic that, while a bit dated by today’s standards, still offers a fun and charming experience. The puzzles can sometimes be a bit tricky or odd, but they’re never too frustrating, and the unique atmosphere of the mansion, along with its quirky characters, make it an enjoyable journey. The pixelated graphics and straightforward mechanics may not impress modern players (I showed it to 20 years younger friens and they were amused about the enhanced version already), but there’s a certain nostalgia in how it all comes together. It’s a game that offers a lot of personality and a sense of adventure that fans of point-and-click games will appreciate, even if some parts might take a bit of extra thinking. Overall, it’s a delightful (or stupid) mix of humor, mystery, and retro charm that still holds up as a fun throwback.
