Decent game but lets be real, we should really NOT have to download an external fix just to play this. Shame on c0ckstar for never coming back and fixing this to run properly.
my pet dog named jack really likes this game, he larps as a russian on telegram and watches gore on his second monitor all whilst playing manhunt, 10/10 game 0/10 port
couldn't even play it even with the community patches. i want everyone who made this port dead
Manhunt is a fascinating game, even today. What I enjoyed the most was its decaying urban atmosphere. The city feels dirty, hopeless, and oppressive in a way that very few games manage to achieve. I also appreciated hearing and seeing dialogues and scenes that most modern developers would probably be too afraid to include out of fear of offending someone. What I find especially amusing is that Rockstar released this game while they were already facing controversy and legal criticism over violence in their games. Instead of playing it safe, they went ahead and released a game that is essentially built around the concept of a snuff film. The sheer audacity of that decision is impressive. The story, however, was the weakest part for me. The premise is great, but I expected more character development. I wanted to learn more about why Cash was sentenced to death and to get a deeper understanding of the events taking place throughout the game. Unfortunately, the PC version is in terrible condition. To play it properly, you need several community-made fixes. The game has also aged quite poorly in some respects. Certain levels feel frustrating rather than challenging, especially on the highest difficulty, and there are many small issues that make the experience less enjoyable than it could have been. Despite its flaws, I enjoyed Manhunt overall. I see it less as a traditional game and more as an experiment, a provocation, and a satire of society's moral boundaries. It is a product of a time when developers were willing to take creative risks and intentionally challenge their audience. For that reason alone, I think it remains a unique and memorable experience.
♥♥♥♥♥ ass rockstar. fix your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game. the only reason this is a positive review is because the game itself is good. go ♥♥♥♥ yourself
Don't buy this. Rockstar is selling a broken version of the game. You can do stuff to fix it, but that's beside the point. Rockstar is scum and will always be scum, but don't worry the horse balls shrink in RDR2 so all is good in the world.
5 missions in and all this game taught me is how to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ distribute cp on telegram and how to access elite gore sites. now i have to go make corny edits of manhunt 2 for the edgelords on tiktok who larp being russian.
Game looks 10000x better with the RTX remix mod. If you're a new player, run the Manhunt fixer by ermaccer (don't tick any boxes, just click patch), then extract the entire RTX remix mod folder inside the the Manhunt folder (where the .exe is located) and voila, you have a perfectly playable Manhunt game with all bug fixes, AI fixed, 60 FPS patch, that looks gorgeous with path tracing and plays unbelievably well with zero stutters and constant 60 FPS in 4k. Brilliant!
все хотят обняться, но стесняются. а ты помогаешь им расслабиться... навсегда. доброта спасет мир! 10/10 💝
"You're pushing my patience. I want to see blood, Cash. BLOOD." So, where did this Rockstar Games go? The ones on top of the game when it comes to controversy? The ones who made what is arguably one of the most violent videogames ever made? Because despite the PS2 graphics and jank, Manhunt remains a topic of discussion to this day. This review will cover both Manhunt 1 and 2, since the second game is not on Steam, and probably never will. We play as Cash, a convict on death row that suddenly becomes the main character of a snuff film. The main appeal is the over the top executions that vary depending on how long we follow an enemy closely. Late game almost has a genre shift through, from a stealth action game to a cover shooter. Even though it's a great game, it's extremely flawed. Gunplay is atrocious, getting in and out of cover is awkward and accuracy is inconsistent. Enemy detection is a coin flip at times. Manhunt is 100% worth playing though, due to its dark and hopeless atmosphere, being almost a horror game. It's important to note however, that Rockstar screwed up the Steam version by uploading a cracked copy somehow, making it impossible to finish the game due to anti-piracy measures being wrongfully activated, only fixed by community patches. I got huge respect for Manhunt despite this, since it marks a time when developers actually took risks. Eventually, for some reason, Manhunt 2 was made. It's a strange game to say the least, because it simultaneously cranks the violence levels up to eleven with executions that are SO gruesome that it's almost cartoonish, and is also Rockstar's forgotten black sheep. So much so that the game is still banned in countries like Germany, Malaysia, and South Korea to this very day. It's unclear what Rockstar's goals were with this sequel, since it's somewhat ambitious, but had a PSP port of all things. Manhunt 2 took me 4.5 hours to complete, and there were two levels I felt were filler, which means this game is extremely short. The story is about Danny, who has a psychological disorder after an experiment happened, with a plot similar to Fight Club. Serviceable, I guess. They tried to make a complex story, but it leaves several questions unanswered. We don't need to know what Cash did to wind up on death row in the first game, because the manner in which he kills people pretty much answers that. MH2 though, falls flat in trying to justify every small thing. While in the first game the executions are the main gameplay loop, here it's just a suggestion. A run and gun approach is viable throughout the entire game. This actually makes the game more enjoyable, giving more freedom to the player! There's interactive executions, three stages of execution with guns and even environmental ones. The gunplay is much more polished and predictable in comparison to MH1, and there's a few other small new features. Such a game with modern graphics is obviously inconceivable, so Manhunt 3 might never exist. All we're left with is these two clunky but disgustingly incredible games! Totally worth playing at least once.
