Incredible game. Such beautiful visuals and all round fantastic story. Only on mission 8 and in love already. I got this game in BETA form this year and it has been such a journey to watch it grow to full release. The devs are so wholesome and really take feedback very well. Hurts my brain to try and figure things out the way they are supposed to be done, but the satisfaction of everything falling into place is unmatched. Definitely get this game. 10/10
There's a lot of cleverness hidden in Malmyr's design that's not initially obvious. It forces you to unlearn all the things you've learned while playing city builder games - you NEED to remove existing structures, you MUST plan several expansionist moves ahead, and just playing around will help you solve the first few maps, but eventually will crash you hard into a wall. That said, Malmyr could be improved lots by better writing. It's so clearly a German game, with all the worst writing and cheap humour you'd expect from a German game, that it hurts the game overall. An engaging story with better presentation would elevate Malmyr to something really good. With this, my recommendation is: Play the demo. Get it on sale. Enjoy something unique.
A fun puzzle/production game. It may seem trivial starting out, but evolves to a challenging and fun pastime. The concept of managing the resource flow through roads is, to my knowledge, a new approach I haven't seen that way before.
50% Supply lines, 50% clicker, 100% terrible dialogue. It's a slog in a "waste your time" kind of way and not a "solve a puzzle" kind of way. It feels like a mobile game.
I initially struggled with Malmyr because I went into expecting a sprawling fantasy tycoon but that's not what this is. Malmyr takes a change of thinking. It's mission-oriented; be prepared to destroy things as fast as you build them! Features 12 story missions, longer freeform missions and an unlockable sandbox. Malmyr looks like a Tycoon -and is to an extent- but it's really a mission-oriented game about managing production lines. A little slow to get started but it has a lot to offer, even a story. Absolute Spielempfehlung
I usually love games like this but this one is just not for me. I don't really enjoy solving the puzzles, they feel like a slog to discover what an optimized road looks like. often, there just isn't one and you need to delete and re set up the same area- I found that very tedious and not fun puzzle solving action.
Nices Game mit viel Liebe zum Detail!
I bought this as I was hoping for a little more Norse Theme than it shows, Kinda disappointed 5/10 for effort
