Make the Burger is a 2D retro pixel quick time event/time management/platespinner game that's been slapped together with the godawful GameMaker Studio video game construction kit from Yoyogames. It's a console/Nintendo Switch app that was dumped on Steam as a cash grab. It's a basic mobile-app tier burger maker where you tap on your iPhone screen to select a customer and then quickly tap on the things needed to assemble their order. If you're too slow, customers get upset, etc etc. This kind of drivel is unavoidable on mobile app stores, and here we see another one on Steam. GameMaker Studio is a very poor quality game construction kit, and unsurprisingly results in products that have little to no value as games, especially when compared to the work of professional developers who create genuine products for gamers. Using a video game construction kit requires little to no talent or skill as a game developer. Very often, GameMaker Studio is used to make shovelware and lazy cash grabs. Like most GameMaker Studio construction kit "games", this features lazy 2D retro pixel "art", instead of professionally done, contemporary PC graphics. Controls and resolution are locked, which pushes this below acceptable standards for PC. I didn't build a cutting edge gaming rig so I could pretend it's a kids handheld gameboy.
So Make the burger is a promising and interesting game, but it is extremely difficult and you could even say that it is "unfair" Graphically speaking, for an indie game, it is iconic and cute. The soundtrack, if you expect a "relaxing + challenging" game with calm music... You will enjoy it and it will motivate you to play more and get platinum The problems come now If you put the right ingredients in the wrong order, that is "unfair" in my opinion (I could be wrong and ignorant on this point) You have little time to do it at a flash speed... So in your desperation you make a mistake and lose a customer due to delay and not fulfilling the order This makes the game very unfair The achievements are challenging, but it is merciless to this point If the game had an assistant while you make and deliver burgers to customers, online mode and collectible cards... It would work even in my opinion! In the end, this game is interesting, it will make you want to eat a hamburger and it is only for those who like challenges like this Rating 8 I recommend it!
No hay sensación de progreso, no hay nada que facilite o aliviane el trabajo. No se puede ver el pedido mientras estas haciendolo, compras mesas e ingredientes, no se puede guardar. Hace mal cosas básicas.
Never recommended It is a crappy memory game with time limits or breaks where the upgrades only make the experience worse. The UI is so poorly designed you will screw up the whole order if you click one pixel away from your target. Even when it is not constantly punishing you for not being autistic or Korean enough about it, is being extremely monotonous and void of any reward or gratification. It would actually be more enjoyable to work at a burger place. The art style is so vague you will be constantly guessing what you are looking at, making the required quick selecting as difficult as possible. Oh and the game punishes you for not laying down the ingredients in the exact order, even though it is just a burger where they will be eaten at the same time anyway. You can actually take out stacked ingredients, though that messes up the whole order of stacking. The worst part is that you cannot see the order while you are stacking the ingredients. This is extremely unlike the reality. Either they supply mass-produced fast food stuff or they TAKE NOTES TO GET THE ORDER RIGHT. Hello, what are the waiters for. I get the feeling that the best course of action here would be to have the developers of this game sign up for an actual burger-flipping job to learn what the job is actually. It definitely is not how it is portrayed in this game.
I was making a double quarter-pounder while an indian lady was screaming at me to make it faster as if that is going to help. The game is pretty good too.
Cute art but like other reviews pointed out, its a mouse only click game for a fast paced game. No keyboard options, no in-game upgrades to facilitate your increasing orders which is counter productive for progression, no story mode or other challenge modes, just endless mode; game feels pretty barebone as even the text sizes are very small on a 16inch monitor with no resolution settings. Sadly I'm giving this a thumbs down hoping the devs fix the issues many people have been pointing out. Good luck
Best $0.22 game I've ever played. HIGHLY recommended if you like to waste time.
