The world’s most irreverent co-op action adventure returns! In the next chapter of Magicka, players ascend from the ruins of Aldrheim to experience a Midgård almost wiped free of Wizards after the Wizard Wars, with the few that do remain having either gone mad or extremely hostile toward all others

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.86/day in the week to Aug 14 → 2.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

[/olist]

Magicka 2 is a chaotic and irreverent action-adventure game that builds on the formula of its predecessor with faster pacing, updated visuals, and tighter mechanics. At its core, the game is a top-down spellcasting brawler where players mix elements in real-time to create deadly (or accidentally hilarious) magical effects. What makes it stand out among other action RPGs is not its story or loot—both of which are intentionally minimal—but rather its experimental approach to spellcasting and the sheer unpredictability of its combat, especially in co-op. This game is built less around long-term progression and more around the moment-to-moment thrill of conjuring the right combination of elements in the middle of chaos—and sometimes watching your plans explode in your face. The game puts you back in the boots of a robed wizard in a tongue-in-cheek fantasy world that parodies everything from The Lord of the Rings to modern gaming tropes. The story picks up after the events of the first game, with the wizarding world in disarray and only a new generation of Magickas to restore order. It's told through silly narration, exaggerated accents, and self-aware jokes that often break the fourth wall. While the narrative is by no means deep or emotionally engaging, it doesn’t try to be. The humor is the star here, filled with puns, slapstick, and parodies. If you’re into absurd comedy and don’t mind a lot of silliness, it works well. If not, the dialogue and cutscenes may wear thin. Gameplay, however, is where Magicka 2 truly shines. The core mechanic involves combining up to five elements at once—such as fire, water, arcane, life, and so on—to create spells that can be fired in different directions or used to enchant weapons, self-cast healing, or protect with shields. Some combinations are straightforward, like mixing fire and earth for an explosive fireball. Others are more creative and deadly, such as chaining lightning across wet enemies or using water to extinguish fires before healing. The system encourages experimentation, and the real-time pressure of figuring out the right combo in the middle of a hectic battle leads to frequent disasters—and just as frequent laughter. Unlike other magic systems in RPGs, which are usually restricted by cooldowns or mana, Magicka 2 gives you every spell from the start and just asks you not to blow yourself up. In single-player, the experience is entertaining but can feel somewhat overwhelming or repetitive in long sessions. Without other players to laugh with or cause mayhem, the novelty of spell combos wears down a bit. In contrast, multiplayer is where the game becomes something entirely different—bordering on slapstick genius. Up to four players can cast spells in the same environment, and because friendly fire is always on, most of the fun comes from accidents, betrayals, and on-the-fly resurrection of fallen teammates. The co-op chaos becomes a sort of magical slap fight, where one moment you're valiantly fighting off goblins, and the next, you’ve accidentally vaporized your best friend with a misplaced beam. These emergent moments are what make the game so memorable. Despite its charm, Magicka 2 does have its flaws. The controls, while functional, take some time to master, especially if you’re playing with a controller. It’s clearly designed with keyboard use in mind, where you can assign each element to a quick-access key. On console or with a gamepad, the pace slows down and spell combos can feel more clunky. The difficulty can also spike unpredictably, especially in later stages or when certain enemy combinations appear. If your group hasn’t learned how to coordinate spells or revive each other quickly, it can lead to frustrating wipeouts. Additionally, while the spellcasting is deep, the enemy AI and encounter design can sometimes feel repetitive. Most of the game’s challenge comes from avoiding your own spells or dealing with the chaos of your teammates rather than from clever enemy mechanics. Graphically, Magicka 2 received a noticeable upgrade from the original. Environments are colorful, well-animated, and diverse—from snowy mountains to fiery dungeons. Character models are expressive, and spell effects pop with energy and visual clarity, helping players parse the action even during intense moments. The sound design reinforces the game’s cartoonish tone, with exaggerated sound effects, gibberish voice lines, and a soundtrack that fits the tone without becoming intrusive. There’s a lightness and polish to the presentation that complements the goofy, over-the-top gameplay. In terms of content, the game offers a decently long campaign, challenge modes, and several unlockable Magicks (powerful scripted spells) that can be found throughout the game. While it doesn't have a loot or progression system in the traditional sense, it does let you swap out robes and staffs that change stats or add passive effects, allowing for a bit of customization. However, if you’re looking for an RPG with depth, loot collection, and long-term progression, this isn’t it. Magicka 2 is more about spectacle, short bursts of chaos, and emergent fun. Ultimately, Magicka 2 is a niche title that knows exactly what it wants to be: a chaotic, co-op-friendly sandbox where magic is less about precision and more about creativity and absurdity. It won’t appeal to everyone, especially those looking for a more structured or story-driven experience, but for players who enjoy experimenting with spell systems or simply want to laugh at their own incompetence with friends, it offers hours of unpredictably entertaining gameplay. Whether you’re summoning a meteor storm or accidentally setting yourself on fire for the fifth time in a row, Magicka 2 never stops being amusing—even when it's killing you. Rating: 7/10
