Magical Eyes - Red is for Anguish

Okay, first things first: this is the first and only game in an abandoned series from 2016. Lots of questions introduced in this game go unanswered - we never even get to know anything about the main characters backstory, something that would be very interesting to know considering his character. Secondly, I had a hard time getting invested in the story. It's a mystery game that I suppose should be pretty suspenseful, but nothing is ever at stake for the characters which makes the game kind of stale. You also get to know a handful of characters by their names but never seeing their faces made me mix up all the names constantly so when someone was mentioning a character I could never figure out who they were talking about, which in turn made me very confused about the whole story. I was invested in the romance parts, but this being an unfinished series of course that never ended up going anywhere. Don't bother.

A 15€/$ visual novel? Well, for sure it's something we don't see that much. For what concerns the few achievements, without a guide it can be completed within 4-5 hours while if you're skipping all the text and choosing the right things to get the perfect answers.. well, it can take one hour or so. But we're not here for that. Even if the game has all the things a visual novel should have - galleries, skip option, save/load buttons and so on - it has also some traces of map exploration. Most of all - there's a great story here to explore and some awesome graphics, both for what concerns backgrounds and character images (and the animations are great too!). I'd definitely recommend the whole game just by talking about its main parts, even if the price is definitely too high for 6 to 8 hours of visual novel in my opinion (if you want to explore everything, you won't need more than 8 hours even if you're a slow reader). The plot is really intriguing, basically a thriller adventure taking place into a town that we'll have to explore thoroughly. Oh, I have mentioned that there's awesome voice acting in here too? And great music! Well, I would somehow agree with some players that label this game as a kinetic novel - there are no different endings, even if we can get S-rank answers in order to unlock bonus scenes and extras in the game's main menu. But everything's great, from the narration to the artwork, so it's really a pleasure for the senses (especially if you like the genre). This game should have been the first of a series too, even if it can be fully enjoyed even without the next episodes - the developers talked in 2016 or so about a sequel called "Indigo Blue Heaven" in process, but as of 2020 there are no traces of that title, unluckily. Something went wrong? Well.. Anyways, the narration is great, told by different perspective and always maintaining a sense of mystery in it - the characters are greatly designed and represented and overall it's an awesome visual novel, maybe a little bit pricy but it's a must if you like the genre.

3/10 i made it father into the story than most + music + prologue + japanese voice acting for small amounts of the story - the rest of the story feels all around low effort - auto reader keeps turning off for no reason.

Um romance novel de terror. tem como ir skipando rápido a história. O que faz o 100% ser mais acessível, cai de 10 horas para umas 4 no máximo; terá que ser combinado umas decisões. O game aborda um lance de terror, uma boneca desmembro o dono da loja que ela estava a disposição. Em modas de labubu e Chuck, se gosta dessa temática pode se apegar mais a história do jogo.

You're welcome. Hollow characters, awful writing, constant switching between first-, second-, and third-person narration, and very flimsy plot. I actually tried reading a good chunk of it before I just straight up skipped to the scenarios and the ending. The beginning doesn't tie into the "first chapter" at all, so you're not missing anything by skipping. Plus, this is only the first part, not the complete story. Play for free or skip it entirely. I wish I'd figured out the Enter key a lot sooner.

In Magical Eyes - Red is for Anguish, The Disobeyers are a organization of people that protect their individual area from Variants. Variants are people who died leaving a fervent wish unfulfilled, or a material object that was so strongly influenced by emotions that it became supernatural. You play as Yuu, a member of The Disobeyers. Strange things are occurring and a stranger incident has happened in your area. Every day there seems to be a new body, gather the clues and find the killer! Magical Eyes - Red is for Anguish can take anywhere from 8 to 11 hours to finish, and quite frankly I was very impressed by the music, characters, backgrounds, and the story. Definitely a murder mystery novel, but other than the occasional bloodstain, doesn’t depict any scenes of gore or violence. The only thing I would warn you about, is that this is part one of a two-episode VN. The second chapter is Magical Eyes – Blue Indigo Heaven. I spoke to a publisher in Fruitbat Factory about it and it was stated, “it hasn't been cancelled, but the circle doesn't seem to be active atm, so... stalled?” I would not expect part two anytime soon.

本来是为了背景才买的，没想到内容还挺有趣。本作是都市传说题材的视觉小说，故事大概是强烈的情感在人死后会变成一种异形，这种异形能够附着在他人或者物体上。因为异形大概率会伤害人类，所以就会有对抗它的组织。男主就是这个组织中一员，他拥有超过常人的能力，因此可以对抗异形，这种能力似乎是由他强烈的情感赋予的。在男主生活的城市，近一段时间犯罪率暴增，其中有一起犯罪，一个古董店店主自称被一个人偶追杀，他的胳膊也被人偶砍掉了，这引起了男主所在组织的注意。后面的剧情就围绕着男主及其同伴追逐人偶并且消灭她而展开，至于女主，完全就是个摆设，在本作中与男主互动不多，因为本作只是这个长系列地第一部。关于男女主之间的故事，关于为什么城市犯罪率为什么会暴增，那个隐藏起来的大boss究竟是谁，关于开头百年前少女和骑士之间的故事，关于男主其他的伙伴，一切的一切都还没讲，制作组说期待下一部。可惜几年过去了，第二部一直没有出，大概率太监了，可能是因为本作销量暴死（steam评价才20多个，这得多惨淡的销量啊）。其实本作的故事还是很不错的，悬念也有，人物也很讨喜，剧情上也挑不出毛病，但作为一款galgame，把女主放在一旁，不赶快进入男女主的主线反而着重笔墨写铺垫，自然很难吸引玩家。

Pretty good underrated visual novel. This game was a fresh mystery visual novel and kept me entertained. This game only has one ending which means that you will not get to choose but the storytelling is done well. It is really well written mixed with a pinch of humor. The music is great, visuals are good, storyline is fine, this game is one that I will definitely recommend.
