Very good game that I played on my phone and still ended up buying it on steam when I felt like playing it again.
great
an idle game where it seemed it never really slowed down, a really interesting retirement feature, always unlocking some cool new feature or element. truly a masterpiece of a game loved it the whole way through.

5 star
I coveted this game. The game has depth, complexity without being overwhelming, and is oddly well balanced. The progression pace is constant and rewarding. I sunk around 240 hours into finishing the game, about 70% of that was active or moderately active game-play. That is incredible value.
Most of the negative reviews here are already hitting the nail on the head. Great game concept, incredibly enjoyable first couple of hours, but becomes very tedious very fast. I can't speak to the endgame content, because the game becomes too frustrating for me to reach it, but simply UX and QoL improvements could bring this game from a 5/10 to a classic of the genre. In the current state of the game however, I can not recommend a game I can't be arsed to finish.
An excellent text-heavy incremental game. Lots of unlockable mechanics, an engaging enough story, and challenges that require strategy to complete. Very full-featured. Magic Research 2 has active gameplay for an incremental game, but doesn't really fall into the trap of encouraging autoclickers or macro use, since actions can be assigned to trigger at intervals while the game is running. The game kept hinting that it was winding down but then continued, which was fun. The retirement system slightly differentiates runs (with the picking of primary elements and
classes
) but it sort of felt like a way to extend the game length. Trimps remains my favorite incremental game, but I did love Magic Research 2, and it remains second or third alongside Orb of Creation.
A great game! I used to think that I liked part one more? And to be fair I have not beat the second game yet. But so far I think I like it more the nthe first. And I still very much enjoy the first game. This is not just a mindless clicker/idler game. It has a great blend between true game play and idler. It feels rewarding over comming diffiulties, and it has a great game play loop with a lot of awesome unlocks that each add to the game.
I feel all tingly inside
