About
EARLY ACCESS: Made Marion has been released in Early Access! Currently Robin Hood, Little John, and Will, the Scarlet Blade's routes are available. Our next route will be Meissa, scheduled for 2026.
What do you do when your best isn't good enough?
Lady Marion of Glastonbury is going to have to figure that out, and fast. Removed from her position of power and thrust into an unwanted arranged marriage, she finds herself careening through Sherwood Forest toward the troubled town of Nottingham.
Released from the confines of her previous life, who will Marion become? A freedom fighter? A knight-at-arms? A reluctant spy? Will she help create peace in Nottingham or hasten the coming confrontation between the strict Sheriff and the rebel Robin Hood?
And will a woman who resisted marriage end up finding love where she least expects it?
Find out when you're... Made Marion.
Made Marion is an otome visual novel - a romantic story primarily aimed at women, though of course all genders are welcome to play! It's inspired by the tales of Robin Hood, but with many of its own twists.
Welcome to Avalon, an alternate-world Medieval kingdom in which humanity exists in a sometimes-uneasy balance with the mystical fae folk. Avalon's hero-king Richard has gone missing, the nation is deep in debt from a recent war, and the commoners are agitating for more representation in government.
Step into the shoes of the proud young noblewoman Marion and guide her adventure in a richly-detailed fantasy world thick with political machinations and mystical intrigue. Decide who to trust and who to love. Can Marion make the right choices to save Nottingham from a dire fate?
Gorgeous Graphics with a Celtic Flair: Enjoy our beautiful, expressive characters and a unique world inspired by a variety of Northern European cultures. Celtic design elements are threaded through our character and background designs.
Proactive Heroine: Her name is in the game's title for a reason! Marion isn't just along for the ride; she drives the plot forward in many ways and has her own goals and desires.
One Big Choice, Two Different Worlds: After the game's prologue, you'll make a big choice that either sends you to Sherwood Forest or the city of Nottingham. Each side has a different cast to romance, and the two sides have a different feeling to them. Sherwood is a swashbuckling action-adventure, while Nottingham has more political intrigue and spy hijinks.
Role-Playing Choices: Instead of using a traditional affection meter, you'll be making major role-playing choices in each route that lead to two possible happy endings. Choose to be clever or straightforward with the flirtatious Robin. Make idealistic or pragmatic choices with Geoffrey and Gui. It's up to you, and you won't be punished with a bad end for your personality choices.
Meaningful Bad Ends: Our bad endings are designed to be logical and interesting, giving hints about the wider story and world or showing a different side of the game's characters. They're also easily reversed, as they come from one-off choices.]
Made for Adults: We're a sex-positive, LGBT-friendly otome game aimed at adult readers, with an over-18 cast. We aim to be mature without being "edgy" and to portray sex as a part of the characters' developing relationships.

Robin of Locksley: A deposed lord who is leading a rebellion against the autocratic Lord Geoffrey of Nottingham. A strong and capable leader with a tendency to hide his true feelings behind a wall of jocularity.
John: Robin's second-in-command, a gentle giant of a man battling inner demons from his tragic past.
Will, the Scarlet Blade: John's half-brother, a daredevil swordsman with several large chips on his shoulder.
Lord Geoffrey: Known locally by the derogatory nickname of "The Sheriff," this stern lord is determined to rule by law, even if the law entails some very onerous taxes. Can Marion uncover the reasons behind his harsh policies?
Meissa: A mysterious, mischievous sage from an enemy land. Kind and compassionate, they harbor a dangerous secret.
Alanna Dale: A merry bard in Geoffrey's court. Easy to fall in love with but difficult to truly know, she guards herself with layers of lies.
Gui la Londe: A gorgeous, graceful chevalier who is a confidant of Lord Geoffrey's despite their very different worldviews. He would like to recruit Marion for an important mission of behalf of the Crown.

Don't get me wrong - this is a great game. Honestly, Marion is a great character and Robin too. The other one seem to be interesting so far but there's not much to them yet due to the lack of routes. The writing is nothing super special and amazing, but very solid and enganging and I love the world building. Plus everyone in this game is hot tbh. But I'm going to be honest here - 25 bucks for two routes for one character is too steep. I get why it has been released that way, but it's not worth it, ecxept if you want to support the devs. As soon as they add more routes it'll be fine for sure, but this is just not enough to justify the price tag. Once more routes get added, this will be a yes, but as it is now, it's a no.
i've played will and robins routes so far and enjoyed both immensely! such a huge amount of care, detail and hard work- a lot more content than i expected from early access, a pleasant surprise of course! my only fear is i seem to be the only one eagerly awaiting geoffrey's route >.< i beg give me some crumbs oh generous dev
If you're into visual novels with lots of twists, turns, and lore, this is a fun one. I'd classify this as romantasy I think. The main character is Marion from Robin Hood, and while many of the other characters are from it as well and the story is Robin hood at its core it goes way deeper here. Lots of fantasy elements and lore and it just keeps going. I enjoyed the stories and writing, the artwork is stunning and the cutscenes are gorgeous! I love the music so much. You can even choose between a more chaste experience (or so I'm told, I actually haven't chosen that yet but will try it for the next character that comes out, I promise) and the "full Sherwood" which included explicitly detailed (but not visually graphic) intimacy scenes. It's super easy to just skip over those too if that's not your thing. I found the wording to be really kind of cringe sometimes and skipped some. Oh also before I move on, this game has a LOT of magic/fantasy elements and stuff and if you're not into that this might not be your game. It's not my typical genre but I found it pretty fun anyway! The rest of this review contains no real spoilers, just my overview of the three Sherwood leads! Will Scarlet is the true ending of this game, I can not be convinced otherwise. His story was the only one I TRULY loved. He's incredible, super hot, it was very compelling! I will replay it. <3 Robin Hood pissed me tf off. He was REALLY hot though and redeemed himself eventually so I can kinda forgive him. John was also hot and compelling but his story didn't do it as much for me as his brothers but it was lovely. I greatly appreciated how vastly different each relationship was! It doesn't feel like replaying the same game each time with the different love interests! AND it turns out there are two endings for each person so now I do have to replay them all again and make different choices, which is super fun. And I can just skippedy skip the bits I've already read to get to the new choices if I need to haha. This has been great fun, I can't wait for the rest of the routes! I want to meet Gui lol.
Since I miraculously won a giveaway and got this as my prize, I feel it is my duty to give this a review. And I also want to gush for a bit so, it's a win-win lmao. Since this is early access still, I understand the small mistakes here and there. There were very few of them in general, but it was mostly just character dialogue that didn't have the proper character tag above it on occasion. Other than that, I really only have praises to sing about this. At the time of writing this, only Robin's route has been released, and I have played through all of it (most of it? I am missing one last secret achievement out of 5 total rn and frankly I have no idea how to get it lmao). Even though Robin is not my type of romance option/male lead/love interest, whatever you want to call it, I'd still enjoyed the experience of playing Made Marion and his route. I've gone through most if not all of the choice options as of right now, and honestly, just the overall look and feel to the game was more than worth it. I like looking at pretty things, and the art in this is to DIE for. It's gorgeous. The animations that were present during combat scenes? Mesmerising. The UI design and the home page? Literal god-tier my god. The soundtrack and overall sound design? Soooo fitting, I could listen to these tracks all day. I would buy a soundtrack DLC for it if there was one, just so that I could have all of it there, without needing to unlock all of the tracks in the game myself (though I truly appreciate the option of listening to them while being in the game itself, MAN, they're so lovely). It's so rare for me to both like the CGs as well as the sprite artwork and like, design of games, but this really just??? blew me away. The outfit changes, the general portrayal of NAILS ON MARION!!! I was so happy because of that. Actually ethereal my god. Even if the storyline for Robin's route didn't hook me as much as it would probably hook others (again, he's just not my type unfortunately lmao), I really liked that there were so many endings and so many possibilities in general. It's so worth buying the game just considering all of the potential little tidbits and changes that could impact later dialogue/scenes. Given I am a huge simp for Layton, I will obviously be forced to buy the DLC of the game once it comes out. But until then I'm really looking forward to the rest of the routes and what the actual lore of the game is gonna impact! Honestly the glossary was such a nice addition to it all; I could read it all day. Would love to have more names in the pronunciation section, as it's also a very appreciated choice in this. At least now I know how to pronounce Meissa!!! But yeah, lovely game honestly, and definitely worth giving it a try if you are into games with a heavier story focus, as well as general immersion into the world. Thoroughly enjoyed!!!
Wow all your RO ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to kill no to romance and your MC become pathetic just to involve RO in the storytelling This is trash The most useless MC ever The classic spineless and dumb main characters ARE better than this good for nothing always there but just to be pretty doll one It is even more disgusting that through the story writers badly TRIES to show her as powerful and self-reliant women, but only on words. When it is really needed she's a mannequin, that would NOT change a scene if you just throw her out of it Inclusivity for the sake of inclusiveness, w/o changing a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing in plot of maiden in distress. And this IS WHAT this main character actually is MAIDEN IN DISTRESS, useless, clueless, pathetic. Classic ♥♥♥♥ under the new syrup Marion isn't just along for the ride; she drives the plot forward in many ways and has her own goals and desires. -WHAT A ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ JOKE
Moderately recommending at this time mostly in anticipation of the other routes. Robins route, though loved, is a well-known one. I find myself anticipating the other routes more, so a bit pricey just for a Robin story in EA, but I earnestly can only hope the support was well placed.
Loving the narrative of the story. The art is gorgeous and the dialogue has been intriguing and engaging. I played the Robin route but wanted to wait for another route release before my review. Just started Will’s route now, and it was worth the wait. I truly can’t wait for the other routes to start fleshing out the story even more. Def recommend!!
Made Marion is an otome visual novel that places you in the shoes of the titular Marion from the Robin Hood legend, reimagined in the magical land of Avalon with several fun little twists. While the classic struggle between Robin Hood and the Sheriff serves as the backdrop, the story quickly reveals that something darker lurks in the shadows and that Marion has many options that might change her fate. This game began as a Kickstarter project from Velvet Cupcake Games (that I sadly couldn't back at the time, so I'm eternally grateful that I have been given a chance to review this game), and it's clear that a lot of love and detail went into its creation since then, although I do have to admit that at its current early access state, you should probably wait for a sale to buy it. The music and art is absolutely stunning, and every detail brings the world and characters to life, capturing both their personalities and the atmosphere of the setting beautifully. Just as impressive is how the developers avoided outdated damsel clichés, instead giving us a strong and relatable heroine: Marion's conflicting emotions, inner struggles, insecurities, and moments of humour make her a refreshing and lovable protagonist who feels both admirable and human. I definitely recommend it, especially in anticipation of the additional routes. Once the full game releases, I fully intend to 100% Made Marion and update my review! Made Marion is a masterpiece in the making. The game picks up the well-known story of Robin Hood and centers it around Lady Marion. It‘s a visual novel where you play from Marion‘s perspective and make choices that will influence her personality and story. The game is still early access with most of the romance options not yet accessible – but even so the game is absolutely worth buying and I strongly recommend doing so! Made Marion combines a strong, clever protagonist, interesting and versatile love interests, beautiful art, great world building and writing and a captivating story with a huge replay value. Story & Setting The game starts with a prologue and introduces us to the main character and the land of Avalon, which is a sort of parallel world that is inspired by the story and era of Robin Hood but with fantasy elements that draw from Celtic culture and fae folklore. It’s the perfect blend of historic and fantastic and as the story continues, it shows very coherent and clever world building with a lot of interesting details. We also get to know our protagonist Marion, who has managed her father’s holding of Glastonbury for the last five years all on her own and who has grown into a capable, smart woman. At the end of the prologue, we get to make Marion’s first big choice, which will determine where her way will lead: towards adventure in Sherwood Forest or into the political intrigue of Nottingham. Main character As the title already suggests, the game is about Lady Marion. That is easily said, but the game does not disappoint on that, it shows really quickly that the story really is about her. Marion is not just a stand-in for the player, she is very much her own person with strengths, flaws and history that are irrevocably part of her. While the player does make a lot of choices for her throughout the story (this is a visual novel after all), it never feels like I, the player, am imposing myself on her. The choices are usually so that you get to pick which traits and tendencies that are already part of Marion emerge stronger than others (for example on Robin’s route you can choose between a more straightforward or clever/charming Marion). You can decide what side of Marion you want to play, but she is still always herself. And this is such a clever way to combine player immersion and a well-formed, strong protagonist. I personally love this aspect of the game a lot because I enjoy both roleplaying and self-insert in a visual novel. If you prefer self-insert, this game might not be for you, but I still suggest to give the demo a try and see if you maybe like it enough to make an exception. Marion is extremely well written and you might find that you love her as a protagonist as much as I do. Love interests & characters At the time of this review, only Robin’s and Will’s route are released and I’ve read that John’s is expected to come this fall. I have played Robin’s route once and am nearly finished with Will’s and those two are absolutely amazing. Robin has a very charming, attractive personality that drew me to him first and I absolutely loved the banter between him and Marion. All this flirting and the wager … *chef’s kiss* But he’s also a character with a lot of depth, flaws and pain that he hides behind his sunny behaviour. He is one of the most well-written characters that I’ve ever seen in a visual novel and that’s why he’s (so far) my favourite. And I really loved how all his teasing never crossed the line and how respectful he is towards Marion. Will is quite the opposite, he’s a “cranky crow”, sarcastic, sometimes a bit harsh and you can tell pretty early that he’s hiding insecurity and hurt behind his behaviour, but it’s still heart-wrenching to discover what exactly all this is about. His route is more of a rivals-to-lovers thing and it’s just as well done as Robin’s wager. It’s great to see how he and Marion grow together and how they help each other to overcome their weaknesses. Also, I gotta love a man who tries (and succeeds in my case) to bribe a woman with books so he can go off and search a place in peace. And even though the other LIs are not romancable right now, you can still meet and get to know them. I already know that I’m going to enjoy John’s route once it releases, because he, too, is such a well-written, interesting character and also quite different from the other two. It’s going to be really great to experience the plot events by his side and to delve deeper into his story. The Nottingham LIs also look quite intriguing, although I haven’t gotten around to the city much yet. All of them have something special about them that makes me want to get to know them better and see their parts of the story. Honestly, it’s probably a good thing that the game is still early access and the romance options are limited – because if all seven routes were already released, it would simply be too hard to choose which one to play first. ;) Also, this game is LGBTQ friendly and diverse in a way that doesn’t feel forced, it’s naturally interwoven with the story, characters and world building and that’s the best way to be inclusive. Art/graphics & music Absolutely top notch. The design is just so pretty, all the characters’ sprites are gorgeous and the backgrounds are simply beautiful. You could love this game for looking like it does alone and fall for various characters just for looking fiiine. The music is great as well, always fitting for the setting, situation and characters and it just puts you in a good mood as well. Worth it in early access? Yes, absolutely. Yeah, it’s at full price and you might think that a bit much for not even half of the romance options released yet. But this is the price that you will have to pay eventually if you want the game and the waiting period for the other LIs will be the same if you buy now or later. But if you get it now, you get to discover the game and other routes gradually as new content is released. And I personally think that coming back multiple times and being part of the process gets you more out of the game than waiting for it to be finished and then play the whole thing at once.
