Good Campaign - Terrible Endgame
Playtime: 5-10 hours for the main story • 30-50 hours for 100% completion. The campaign follows a classic Mad Max-style story. A warlord wants to dominate the region, and Max must upgrade and revitalize his car to survive and escape. There’s a decent amount of vehicle customization available. The V6 engine is used for most of the campaign (~70%), while the coveted V8 only becomes a realistic option near the end if you do side quests. The sense of progression is strong — you constantly feel your upgrades making a difference. Destroying enemy vehicles is satisfying and the combat has its moments.
The Negative Side
However, the longer you play, the more the game’s bugs and lack of polish become painfully obvious. Here are the main issues:

Vehicle Handling: Controlling V8 cars with Keyboard & Mouse is terrible. It’s clear the game wasn’t properly designed for fast vehicles.
Races: Easily the worst part of the game. The racing experience is horrible — you’ll understand after just a couple of them.
Weapons: The shotgun you unlock for Max at the end of the campaign is somehow worse than the regular version you can buy.
Tedious Tasks: To get 100%, you’ll have to disarm massive minefields while listening to your dog barking and howling for hours.
Camera Issues: The automatic aiming system during races is awful. It forces the camera to follow harpoon throws or shotgun shots, and at high speed this causes you to lose control — especially because it also slows down time.
Environmental Hazards: Random sandstorms can drain Max’s health constantly (like permanent bleed) with no way to escape, often leading to cheap deaths.
Enemy Spawns: Enemies can spawn randomly on the map and interrupt missions, feeling like unwanted PvP invasions.
Online Requirement: With no more official servers, you’ll need saves from Nexus Mods to finish certain 100% achievements.

Final Verdict
A solid campaign experience that starts strong and gives a good sense of progression. Unfortunately, the more you play, the more frustrating and unpolished the game becomes.Campaign: 7/10 Endgame / 100%: 2/10

This game is very good for its time even till now the graphics are impressive and gameplay is flawless but here s the twist once you complete the main story missions and wasteland mission game becomes too much repetitive such as like destroy a camp, destroy a convoy etc. over time you get bored of these so yeah the only downside of this is being too much repetitive and i hope they make the 2nd game its been 11 years and the new Mad Max movie came out a year ago
nice game
good.
I let this gem sit in my library for years because I didn't think it was my kind of game, even though I've always loved the films and I now realize that was a mistake. When I finally got to the end this was one of the few games that made me instantly wish I could experience it again for the first time. Very enjoyable from start to finish!
