Mad Max

It's an incredibly OK game. If it was made in the early 2000s, then it wouldn't be something that would fly off of game store shelves but would instead be a sought after gem in the bargain bin. To keep things blunt: The driving in this game is incredible and the entire game should've been (but isn't) focused around it. The main story is short and horrifically paced (it's an OK story that is what you'd expect from Mad Max, but it's told so rapidly and leaps from point to point that you don't get the chance to really experience it). It features sequence errors and inconsistent writing. The four side stories are short and repetitive. No characters are developed enough to make you care for them. Gameplay is extremely repetitive. It is a very good looking game. It has a rather poor overall game direction. It feels like the entire second half was hastily thrown together and therefore underdeveloped. A lot of the side content is genuinely boring and outright not fun to do after the first time you do that particular type of content. This game is abandonware by Warner Bros (it is no longer supported), so only get it if you don't care to 100% the achievements, if you don't care that some of the features are outright no longer available, and you only purchase it on sale. It's a very modern game [derogatory] for modern gamers [derogatory] in every sense of the word. You either know what I mean or you don't, and if you don't then hey, you'll love this game. With that said, I still recommend it for a few reasons: 1. The driving is just that good. I can't begin to describe how great it is. You really just need to experience it so that you can complain when other games implement driving mechanics that are worse than this. 2. It's frequently on sale for like $5. At that price it's 100% worth trying. 3. If you just do the main story and primary side missions (which is entirely possible to do with ease as you really don't need to grind for any upgrades) then it's like 3-4 hours of experiencing the equivalent of a Mad Max B-movie with some of the most satisfying driving in gaming for $5. Things don't feel as repetitive if you do this as well, so it's the ideal way to play this game. I have a lot that I could say but I really don't need to say more or repeat what other have already said. You get the point.
