Luna Sky seems to have a solid idea in it's hands, but utterly fails in it's execution. https://youtu.be/P3gP19CEdxk Let's start with the core gameplay: You are Luna and you must jump around a level collecting crystal saturators, or things of light whichever suits you. There is a certain amount needed to pass through each level's checkpoints and collecting these is very tedious and boring. Part of that lies in how Luna controls and how she moves in the enviroment. The dev's seem to be inspired by Sonic styled gameplay, as in go fast and collect things. No robots to beat though. You do get at times a great sense of speed but that speed is halted at every turn as you don't generate almost any momentum and just stop dead at even very small angled inclines. The animation on Luna is just hilariously bad, in the cutscenes she is basically a stick figure. The level design and the environments are equally bad. It reminds of NES era games where there were platforms only for the reason that you can jump on top of them, this makes them feel out of place. I mean why are there floating rocks in this cavern? Are they magic? Is something holding them up? No they are just there, floating, without logic or reason. The only good thing I can say about the game is the music. It is actually quite pleasant. The game needs a lot of polish, in almost every regard. If you wish to see some gameplay then check out the video above and below: https://youtu.be/P3gP19CEdxk (Edit 5.10.2015) Two patches have been released to the game in order to do something to the controls. I can say that it's a bit better when compared to the launch state, but there's still work to be done.
Киберпанк-пародия на Соника, с плохой оптимизацией и вылетами на стадии загрузки. Ценник точно не соответствует. С такой оптимизацией и бесплатно не нужна.
This is gonna sound like sarcasm, but trust me, it's not
This game isn't super pretty... the animations are stiff... it may look as if it just stepped off the PS1... but already this is by far a better Sonic game than Sonic: Lost Worlds. That alone warrants a recommendation for purchase. Still, $12.99 is a bit steep. I've got to say wait for a sale or bundle, or if the price is lowered a bit. I was honestly presently surprised with this game, and even though it's not the most polished thing out there, I can't wait to go back and finish it. A lot of fun for anyone who likes something "similar" to an old school Sonic game.
I got this game in a G2A 5 Premium Steam Keys thing, so I can't so anything about pricing and such because i payed so little for it. While the idea for this game is good, and it executes it fairly simply, it's overall not very good. It's very much similar to Sonic in the sense of there's a need for speed and lots and lots of small things to collect. When I first started I honestly had no idea what was going on. I was in the ocean, then all of a sudden this giant octopus looking thing fell out of the sky, then this main character fell and just started walking and fell into the ocean. So after seeing this I decided i was going to look at this from an open perspective. I've played about 2 levels in, it looks like there's a type of ability upgrade after every zone, but it doesn't work out very well. I'm constantly confused playing this, I can't seem to grip any story really. However what story I can gather is really crappy and not very good. I can't say much about the controls since i'm not playing with a controller, but honestly I doubt it would make a difference. She runs just too fast, the animations for her are down right hilarious, and running into the slightest slope causes her to stop almost entirely. There's no tutorial, which some might say is good but in this game it's not. I highly doubt I will ever play this again.
Видоизмененный соник, также собираем энергию сдаем и проходим дальше, в целом прикольно, разве что с прыжками проблемы да и цена завышена
Once upon a time my biggest issue with Luna Sky was that it would crash on launch. This was due to a Mesa issue and the developer didn’t have an AMD GPU to test with. Luckily the Mesa team was able to fix this and now the game runs. Sadly after all that I can’t say i enjoyed what I played of it. The voice acting was pretty good. The story seemed too vague and I didn’t have much of an idea what was going on. The platforming was a mixed bag with my main issue being that I didn’t like how you rolled into a ball when jumping as well I didn’t like the skating feature. Early on I was going to complain that there was no map but then I was randomly hitting buttons and found the one that opens a map. The issue was then that I found the map to be be near useless as it had no legend forcing me to figure out what the symbols meant on my own. This was a common theme of Luna Sky where very little was explained very well. Also I was randomly hitting buttons because when you’re in game you can’t view the controls. You also can’t remap the controls at all. One the plus side you can advance to the next level without finding all of the crystals if you want but also know that any crystals you find will not carry over so best to cash them in before advancing. You won’t know you’re at the end though as it isn’t marked in any way. The graphics are alright but not mind blowing in any way. The music is in that vein as well, good but noting special. I played Luna Sky on Linux. It has an AA toggle and 4 graphics options. Alt-Tab works. You can save at save stations or on exiting the game. If you choose upon exiting the game it will put you at the nearest save station when you next run the game. Every other time I run the game any time it freezes on launch. I simply have to kill it and then the very next time it will run fine. Given that the developer still doesn’t support AMD GPUs I doubt this will be fixed any time soon. The performance was strange. The frame rate itself was great but the system resource usage, especially the RAM usage was far more than what the visuals should have needed. Disk Space Used: 2.2GB Game Version Played: 1.5 Input Used: Logitech F310 Game Settings Used: AA on; Animation Sync on; Glow Quality High; 1920x1080 GPU Usage: 21-100 % VRAM Usage: 1096-1379 MB CPU Usage: 14-27 % RAM Usage: 4.8-6.7 GB Frame Rate: 102-144 FPS I only paid $1.39 CAD for Luna Sky but I still can’t recommend it. I just didn’t enjoy the game play and found the game to be too vague and leave you to figure out even the most basic things as well as lacking, what I thought to be, basic features. I played for about an hour before quitting. My Score: 4.5/10 My System: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X | 16GB DDR4-3000 CL15 | MSI RX 580 8GB Gaming X | Mesa 21.2.5 | Samsung 970 Evo Plus 500GB | Manjaro 21.2.0 | Mate 1.26.0 | Kernel 5.15.7-1-MANJARO | AOC G2460P 1920*1080 @ 144hz
Massive loading times for... not much anything. Vaguely Sonic-like gameplay (tho bad in comparison). Nonsensical intro. Overall I just don't see anything appealing in this, go play Freedom Planet instead or something. I'd be getting a refund if I didn't get this from a bundle.
