Simple, endearing and educational. Perfect for children and still a good game for others. Might lack a bit of polishing, but the universe is really well crafted and teaches about the current human technologies for gathering energy. If you like platform and puzzles, this is a good game to get for less than 10 euros.
I think I'm about twice the recommended age for this game. That said, Ludwig isn't really fun enough to be a game game and doesn't incoperate knowledge properly to make it a reasonable learning game. There is some good information in the Knowledge Bank as you unlock everything (with amazingly simple multiple choice questions) but you never need to open the Knowledge Bank to reference what you've "learned" to progress. The one time it would have been useful to check (for the burning point of combustables), that information was annoyingly absent. I also found the few pop culture references strange and out of place. Having said all that, the game is competently built if a bit clunky. Not recommended except for extra-credit.
I don't know for which public this game was developped. It isn't interesting for adults and not adaptated for children. The music is so horrible i turned it off and controls aren't good either.
Intro plays, Game starts, Robot continuously runs in an uninteruptable cycle. Quit. Uninstall.
Haaaaaaaaah. It feels like a lot of wasted potential. The game seriously lacks polish, script is dry, minigames are boring and bad and ui is a tragedy, the game actually has a loading for menu. Yet despite it all i can see there was some thought but into the story, which while starts ridiculously dumb has some back story. The graphics are ok, but i can't help what if game had more development. Dunno if it was grant grab project, lack of funds or time, but while some parts of the game have potential and seem to have quite a lot of care, a lot of it feels like some school project you're half assing just to finish. As for educational aspect.. honestly dialogues, ui writing are so dry, and games seems to miss the point so much you're better going on youtube or smth.
Movement options are cares about camera with A & D being additional ways to turn the camera and doesn't care about the camera with the robot slowly turning to face the direction you're trying to tell it to go before advancing. would really like A and D to be strafe buttons but that's not an option unless I hold down the mouse button the entire time. Turing is slow and not a fan of the fact that Running consuming energy that you have to expend a resource to charge and is used for other things. Not that running is that much faster so I'd rather not have running that risk losing energy I might eventually need for something else. Tutorial is annoying. Great job telling me how to progress dialogue on the very last bit of dialogue. If you need to know the controls to reach the instructions for said controls, there's a problem. In addition, I find having about 5 times more way points that necessary silly when you also restrict the areas you can move through so much that you can only move along the path. Not that the way points do anything because you can skip them at no consequence. Then you're interrupting the gameplay constantly to display a dialogue about controls I figured out as soon as I was given control of the character. I'm not saying you shouldn't explain all your controls but don't pause the game every inches of movement to fade transition to dialogue, explain 1 button, then fade back. inventory seemed to take too long to come up. there was a display under the number of energy cells for recharging that said not translated. I don't know what's not translated or why but I feel it would just be better if that bit of text wasn't there. I mentioned a problem with the volume in a discussion thread but beware because this game will show you how loud your set-up can be.
