First of all, i am curious about this game because this is still freshly released by an indie company and it's appear on my search results when i am looking for visual novels (for killing time obviously). Then i purchase this game because good price and i took interest on the gameplay. So, here's what i can say : 1. This game is VERY SHORT because technically it's just like our real life internet chatting, but we do that with three characters. 2. Do not expect much from this game because, remember, this game is more like "WORD GAME" than your usual dating sims. 3. So many typos i found on this game but that's not really bad. 4. If you ask me about the story, let's just say it's more like your usual youthful situation, about school and college life. And the story aspect is really got me good because somehow, i am touched a bit by how all of the characters tell about their life or stuffs that they do and share to us (the hero). I must admit, yeah the story is kinda good but not that really bad. 5. I want to say that ummmmm this game is kinda play with your emotions. Ok, so my final verdict is : 7/ 10 because it's simplicity and ummm, very short plot especially. If this game also add more visual novel elements like scenes and your heroine with background scene (yeah i know it's hard to say), maybe this game will be good and yeah, extend a bit about the plot. Aside from that, i have a good time while play this and appreciate dev's workhard. Additional notes : I think yeah, should this game is combine visual novel aspect with this game chat system, definitely a beautiful works. I think for devs, can consider this review of mine. That's all what i can say due my personal experiences, Once again, thank you for make a beautiful game. Update : Already play the newly updated chapter 9 and the devs is really makes me got my feelings played again. But that's good improvement actually.
A short emotional story about love, regrets, lies and the importance of sacrificing something precious in order to move on with life towards a brighter future.

Game's premise:
You play as a high schooler who spends the greatest part of his free time indoors chatting to his trustful friend Lucas and a popular girl you share class with whom you’re attracted to – Joanna. While getting a hint you’re the only person who might know Joanna the most among other scholars, there’s a huge gap between the two of you. In fact, the only chance you get to communicate with her is after school via chat. Aiming to bring a change to this relationship you ask for her permission to make the girl become the main heroine of the novel you are planning to write. However, the routine suddenly gets crushed once you get to know about some changes taking place at your class. Will you be able to get closer to the charismatic Joanna? While pondering on the future, a lot of doubts start surfacing about the actual situation you are living through. All the precious memories, casual chats with your best friend and the intention to conquer Joanna’s heart… where will they end once you start attending college?
Early 2000s internet:
This game is set in 2000s and brings a lot of nostalgia as the whole gameplay is located in a messaging software where you interact with 3 persons that will become a huge influence to your emotive state. Just as on a regular software most of us used back then, the game will feature beeping sounds while getting new messages from your friends as well as the possibility to start a video call with them. This is a really neat context that with a simple minimalistic depiction brings back a wave of emotions and memories from those times. The lack of closeness is also mentioned and shows us the importance of communicating face to face with your loved ones.
About the story:
The game starts right away with a chat between you and your best friend. In order to get the gist of conversation the player will have to ask various questions and pick set answers to give to your friend, in order to unfold the story. This is mainly a story set during high school and college times, which result into question yourself a lot about the paths to take for your future’s sake. Each character has their own struggles and speculations about their present situation and what kind of futures they are willing to achieve. As most of the times, such important choices will cause the change of environment as well as creating distance between own self and the cherished ones which will cause significant misunderstandings. The characters you will be interacting with will be your sweet but distant crush Joanna, your best friend Lucas and the newly met hardworking Serena.
Featurings:
This is a ~3.5h interactive game set as a dating sim divided in chapters where the choices you take get to unlock different branchings that will take you to respective endings. Therefore the game offers a possibility to replay a single chapter if you are willing to take a different path in order to complete the title. While choices will be present as in a regular Visual Novel, some replies you’ll give in chat won’t have a choice option. Also, as the game is based on conversating in chat, you will have to press keys in order to get the message written in the chat window accompanied by a keyboard sound effect. After a chapter’s completion it is possible to speed up the playthrough in order to change the significant answer that will alter the game’s outcome. The game features interesting references such as famous videogame titles, known books and manga titles. While I stumbled upon quite a lot of grammar errors, the experience did not result confusing.
Overall:
Recommended to public enjoying little games with bittersweet stories that portray well the inner growth of characters. Not recommended if you are looking for a Visual Novel featuring CGs and detailed date scenes. If the game had been translated better then I would’ve certainly given it a ‘Recommended’ mark, but in its current state the grammar is simply abysmal.
Pros
- Art - Price - Relatable situations
Cons
- Grammar/translation Final verdict: ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆★★★ 3/10 - Bad I took an interest in this game because the set up reminded me of ‘Emily is Away’ and it’s hard to imagine this wouldn’t have been inspired by it. ‘Love in the distance’ has many of the same melancholic themes but it doesn’t feel like a ripoff. The story is very down to Earth and relatable to many of us, dealing with human connections – losing touch and trying to reconnect with people. As the protagonist you interact with three characters through the game (one male friend and two female love interests) via chat conversations. None of these go that much in depth, you get a basic idea of each character’s personality and aspirations but the lack of full narrative focus leaves them all quite hollow in the end. The story spans a few years and is divided into nine chapter, each taking place months apart from the other and it’s up to the reader to figure out how relationships have changed since the previous chat. The game has a pretty nice simplistic art style. The chat ‘window’ itself is very plain and could’ve used a bit more detail. The character arts are very nice and it’s cool they gave them each a variety of facial expressions, but it could’ve still used a little more. Since the faces are used to mimic a video chat, it feels odd that none of them have any background art to them which would’ve helped to establish them as characters a bit more. On the sound side, the game only has a minimalist sound effect offering and no music when you are playing each chat. The gameplay itself consists of picking from a set of choices on what to say and you must “type” in order to progress the chat. While this arguably does bring a sense of immersion to the game, for me the novelty ran dry quite fast and I would’ve much rather just played it like a regular visual novel. Now to the worst of it that is the true reason for my low score and Not Recommended decision – the grammar. It was immediately clear there would be mistakes but as the story progressed, it only got worse. There were several moments where I quite legitimately had no idea what the characters were trying to say to each other because the wording made no sense at all. The errors were so blatantly bad that it made me wonder if the devs published this without a single proofreader going over the game. This really ruined any immersion for me and I deeply hope that maybe the devs will eventually decide to get a more professional translation to replace the current one.
I absolutely loved this game, this game involves an old time chat session maybe similar to myspace or something but i never used myspace before. in this game you make choices to have conversations between three people, lucas, joanna, and serena. what made this game unique to me was the fact was that it kinda felt like talking with real poeple besides well..not, it can be dull like for example no music in the background except the main menu but it makes since at the same time, trying not to spoil to much, i think for the price its just fine, with atleast a couple endings, this game only took me 2 and a half hours, maybe 3 if you get another ending, i love the designs of all the characters and the chats they have, felt like talking with a friend or boyfriend/girlfriend. I did a playthrough on it, still on going at the time of this review if you want to see if its worth the purchase. https://youtu.be/eyDwb1EvJKI
从男主一次次撤掉想说的话时得到了些许共鸣,未来一直都是未知数。
Russian and English The game isn't finished - it ends on February 10th 2021 when the lie of 2 girl's revealed. It must be marked as Early Access, but it is not.
