Born from the radiant flowers that sustain a network of planets rooted in a once-collapsed ancient tree, Selene can absorb and emit their light to preserve life. When the Dark One emerges, stealing the flowers’ glow and weakening the tree, Selene embarks on a journey to reclaim each lost spark. As she overcomes different landscapes and learns to manipulate various floral lights, her adversary’s suffering becomes clear. In the final, darkest world, Selene must choose: heal the Dark One or save the planetary system at her own cost.

i died so many f times bc i'm sooo greedddyyy and i have no patience, beside me being the issue here, LOVED IT ghfujid ahhh NEED MORE
Pros: - The art is incredible. I can't get enough of it. - The soundtrack is very nice. - The audio/visual cues teaching you the mechanics without using text are impressively effective. - It has some really innovative gameplay ideas. Cons: - It's a GODAWFUL platformer. After 60 minutes I was ready to smash my controller into a wall. The controls are sticky, floaty, hairtrigger tight - all in the wrong places. - The checkpoints can be in awkward places. - Who tf thought that doors reversing your orientation was a cool idea?! I really want to finish it, but I don't think I can.
Aguante Costa Rica. Pura vida y todo eso que se dice cuando alguien que no sabe del lindo país tico intenta encajar. Los quiero.
While I overall mostly liked this game, there were a lot of glitches and visual effects that were very frustrating- especially towards the end as precision became more important. For example, there was a time where my character would glitch through the bugs you had to jump on, times where my character had landed on a surface and then suddenly fell off even though I hadn't moved, or when lighting would make it impossible to see where my character (also light yellow/white) was and I couldn't properly dodge falling objects. There were plenty of other gameplay or visual effects that made the game itself frustrating to play. Movement doesn't seem intuitive at times (jumping in particular), the climbing of the vines is *painfully* slow, going one way through a tunnel and coming out on a platform where you have to switch to going a different way means you accidentally go back and forth through the tunnel at times instead of following one fluid motion, and many more. As someone who loves side scrollers (Gris being one of my favorites), this one was just okay. I didn't love it, I didn't hate it, but I did get quite annoyed while playing it at times. If you are extremely patient and don't mind glitchy, non-intuitive gameplay, this is a nice game-- especially if you are looking for one that you can complete in a couple of hours.
> The most beautiful thing to make me want to throw my Steam Deck across the room ## Why - Distinctive art-style - Nice music - Some interesting puzzles/really beautiful areas ## Why Not - Platforming can be painful at times ## Impressions A beautiful little puzzle game aiming for a cozy, relaxing experience that lets itself down a bit with rage-inducing platforming. You're a little girl minding her own business when a scary looking bug dude called the Oscuro comes along and steals the light that seems to make everything in this universe function. Since you and the bug are the only two sentient beings in existence, it's up to you to get the light back in plants where it belongs. You do this by travelling through a series of puzzles confined to rooms which (thankfully) spawn you back at the start of the room if you die. None of the puzzles are especially hard; they mostly make you think just enough to stay engaged though some are trickier. The reason to be thankful for Celeste-style respawns is the decidedly not Celeste-style platforming. I can't quite put my finger on _what_ makes it so objectionable, but there's definitely something. It feels kinda laggy, and I swear inputs just don't register occasionally. Maybe I'm used to games giving me a bit of leeway when jumping a little late off a ledge or something, but if this is what it feels like without that leeway I can see why everything else has it. Instant respawns mostly mitigate this and allow you to enjoy the beautiful soundtrack and art without too much stress, though there are a few too many times where the solution is 'just wait', as well as some respawns which re-trigger overlong pans around the room where you can't move. It's also possible to soft-lock yourself in a few cases by not having an absorbed light handy, so try to ensure you do whenever possible. I probably seem like I don't like the game given that I'm focusing so much on negatives, but I actually enjoyed it overall. It definitely has a distinct look, the soundtrack is nice and it's generally a relaxing, rewarding experience with the background of a show-don't-tell story. There are a lot of cool things to experience here despite the drawbacks, and I'm interested to see what else these devs can come up with (as long as they fix platforming -\_\_-).
A very chill, nature-themed hidden gem
Pretty charming first game from the developers. It is a small scope on-rails puzzle platformer, set in a cave system teeming with nature, light and life. Excellent artstyle, atmosphere and ambient audio. The platforming revolves around light manipulation, and sometimes precise timing. Nothing too crazy, but not trivial either. The devs kept the gameplay interesting by regularly introducing fresh and fun mechanics. Experienced players can easily beat it in 2-3 hours, no rushing. Binary ending, and you can easily reach the 2nd after a short reload. Some collectibles along the way that are hard to miss if you keep your eyes open a little. If you want a comparison, it kind of plays and feels a lot like GRIS at times. At the very least if you enjoyed GRIS, you will like Oscuro as well. The price is more than fair for the content.
I really enjoyed the game. The gameplay would look easy for all those people skilled with platforming games. For a person like me who is completely bad at platforming, I have found the right challenge, even though some of the environmental puzzles become a little repetitive towards the end. I'm looking forward to the developers to release more ideas on their future projects. If you would like to spend a relaxing gaming night at home, this is the game for you.
Nach Hollow knight Silksong habe ich mal so ein Spiel gebraucht. Eine kleine Beweihräucherung fürs good feeling.
