This was an enjoyable point and click adventure game, but in the mechanics-style of Heroes of the Kingdom where you slowly get stronger over time. Definitely has the "just one more turn" aspect going for it as well; it felt like I was constantly in danger and it was hard to pick a spot to take a break. There are a few quality-of-life issues; you definitely should play this with a notepad app open; it was a bit of a pain having to go back and forth between screens to double-check what I needed to get for certain quests and the gathering+production logistics definitely had me writing out a flow-chart on a sheet of paper a couple of times. But overall I definitely recommend this game it has good atmosphere, lore, and gameplay.
This is a great game. It mixes RPG point and click gameplay with a resource management aspect that you wouldn't expect, but which fits together really well. And the story is really intriguing with clues being passed out to both the player and the in game character at the same time. So it really feels like you are starting from scratch and puzzling out the world. One of the best things about this game is the gameplay and story integration. The character is focused on improving their status and that links nicely with the gameplay of carefully assigning agents for maximum profitability. Sometimes the character is facing a gauntlet of tough circumstances and the game mechanics hammer that in with negative events. But then you clear that segment and there is a nice reward of both lore and loot to make you feel like you've really achieved something. It's a short game, but I had a lot of fun. The developer is also good at responding to feedback, which is always nice.
Resource management games always make having a quick 10 minutes into playing for nearly an hour and a half. Roaches to Riches is no exception. It definitely plays differently than The End Tides but I actually prefer this new system to the last game so far. It is fascinating and - no spoilers - but I'm really interested in the stats that the game forewarns you of while you're clicking away (not going to lie, I fully well see me going insane in this play-through but we will see if something else doesn't kill me first). I also love that rewarding feeling you get from having an automated system (like in Stardew or Factorio how after a while everything just runs itself), R2R does that with the Agents and I'm here for it. I do think it is interesting that they also progress the story and are not just limited to helping automation. tl:dr Interesting resource management game and excited to delve deeper into the story.
Unplayable. Crashes to desktop every few seconds.
Normally I'm not a big fan of rpg maker games but I ended up getting obsessed with this. Definitely feel it's worth the price.
I like it.It's different, I didn't expect much so I was plesently surprised. I been at it for 3 hours and it's fun.
A solid management clicker with lovely lore, solid progression, good challenges, and rewarding gameplay. It can get a tad repetitive by the end, but for the price tag this is a great game if you enjoy slower-paced management sims and the occult vibes it obviously has throughout it- fully enjoyed.
The game takes a little getting used to and I wasn't sure what to do at first, but after I got into it the story was pretty interesting. Overall I enjoyed it. It grows on you.
It's a fun game. I think it's good for the price. The slight horror feel is pretty cool and different which I really like.
Fun game. The world building story is dark and mysterious. A fantasy horror world with a fun, if not grindy economy management sim. The dev/author is friendly and responsive if you're like me and click though something you should have read and need help.
