Astoundingly beautiful game and honestly shaping up to be one of the absolute best games in the action-adventure genre that I've played in years! They simply don't make them like this anymore, except that they do now! There's plenty of challenge in this title and will likely not make you dissapointed if you're looking for just that. Had originally intended to sit down with this for 30 minutes up to an hour on my first run but just couldn't let it go. Suddenly 8 hours had passed and the game is still enchanting. Once you get into this world you will want to explore every nook and cranny for goodies, and plenty of goodies there are! I will likely update this review down the road - right now I'm too busy with enjoying the game!
I confess, when I was handed this game I didn't have high expectations. However despite some obvious flaws (most notably the UI) I had a lot more fun than I expected. My intended quick 30 minutes testrun turned into 100min somehow. I just wanted to explore a little further and discover a little more... The environments look great, the world has an open maze-like layout that is a lot of fun to explore, and the gameplay is ok despite it's simplicity. If it has any major shortcomings (aside from the UI) I would probably suspect it to be replayability. After all, one of the games most fun aspects lies in unlocking and discovering new paths through its beautiful environments - e.g. finding that spot where a small piece of fence is missing, allowing you to drop down to the level below! I'd say that if the devs polish a bit more, then I think this might be a pretty solid indie title. (Tested the pre-release version.)
Video Review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHA0VzJxvLY Lost God is difficult but very rewarding. It's a really unique world that deserves exploration. I never knew what to expect as I entered a new area. This game doesn't hold your hand but expects you to investigate very nook and cranny to progress. All kinds of weapons to try out as well. The combat is a little unpolished and I think the map isn't super helpful. Still, this is a fun game and if you like tough exploration games you should pick this up.
A beautiful looking game. It unfortunately has very clunky controls/keyboard mapping. Enemies are too hard for the unresponsive controls. It feels like it wants to have the difficulty of something like dark souls but the mechanical polish isn't quite there. I will end up watching a Let's Play of this game because I couldn't get passed the awkward combat.
what a crappy game!!! the visual is good but the gameplaying? slow and hard battles and the settings for the controls are ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up! you cant change for exampel attack to the mouse. dissapointed as hell
At first glance this game might look like a cute, easy adventure game. The design, beautiful lighting, and great looking effects give it a feeling of playful adventure in a forest setting. Well, don't trust your instincts on this one. I found this very hard right from the beginning. You jump in thinking the combat is so simple, but it rivals the difficulty of some of the harder third person games like Bloodborne and Dark Souls. Dodging is CRITICAL, and a mis-timed dodge can be the death of your character very quickly. Although the first couple of hours felt difficult I really enjoyed it. Like I said, the game looks beautiful. The level design is nice, with some fun dungeon areas and puzzles that force you to think carefully. The only thing I found a little clunky was the attack animation. Most of the time I felt like there wasn't a quick enough response to pressing attack, and there was also a slight pause afterwards. Maybe this was intentional but to me it felt like it hadn't been smoothed out enough. With slightly smoother blending between combat animations this game could be one of my favorite in my entire library!
Still only in the beginning. Graphics have a nice feel to them and story is so far small but intriguing. * Update First had problems with my xbox controller. After restarting the game it now detected and configured my wireless xbox controller without problems. Don't know what the issue was. The game is certainly more enjoyable using a controller. * Update 02-12 Played a bit more. Game becomes even better as you get better. I want more skulls!
We reviwed the game on our Youtube channel so if you dont know if you should buy it or not check the video out maybe it will help you here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kNsPt98M_HA
https://youtu.be/lmKwqzZV8KU The rich deep colors make the visual style carry a lot of weight for this game. The missing on boarding and guidance for players combined with spiky difficult make for a far less satisfying adventure.
