LOST EMBER: Rekindled Edition

I'd give this game an 8/10. Considering this was made by a small team of devs, it's a very good game. It has a lot of gameplay and exploration elements, the music is pretty good, and the story is good as well when it starts piecing itself together. However, there are a lot of bugs and performance issues with the game. I have a good gaming laptop, I can run all modern games very well, but in this I had a lot of random lag spikes and stutters, and that killed immersion a lot of the time. Also graphical bugs, like texture/air colour popping. Once or twice I managed to somehow morph outside the world map (it was a tunnel in chapter 4 or 5) and other similar bugs like that. If these issues were worked on, I'd rate it even higher. But currently it's a fun game and worth the time to play it. I think this deserves a lot more love and attention that it has gotten.

I wept like an absolute baby on and off throughout the entire game. What an absolutely heart-breaking and simultaneously heart-warming story. So well thought out. The culture? the world? A female protag with amazing queer representation? characters that have depth and really really catch you in the heart-strings? Honestly I sobbed myself silly. You need to cry but never can unless something else pushes you to? Go for this game. Its beautiful. The gameplay is wonderful, but the story alone is worth every bit.

Another nice example of games as art. That's the best short description of this game I can provide for you. I can't speak for everyone, but I thought this was a fairly effective journey about loss, forgiveness and redemption. The voice acting did tilt me the wrong direction a couple of times, but overall I really enjoyed what this game was going for. I have not played the original version so I cannot speak to that. As I understand it, Rekindled Edition is just the game redone using UE5 and adds some extra busy work like collectibles for gamers who enjoy that kind of thing. It does suffer from the occasional UE5 hiccup but overall it was pleasant to look at and a relaxing experience with nice environments. It's not perfect (most games aren't), but this game would work well for anyone looking for something chill to play that provides a heartwarming story along with it.

needs more optimization

Loved the original game so another reason to replay it but now with a DLC! Story is nice and heart felt, although I feel the plot and "twists" were rather predictable. It still hit. The music works great with it. Mechanically it's a simple and relaxing. Nice doing some of the little things like eating the berries as a wombat and digging up shrooms with the armadillo.

Juego muy chill, tiene coleccionables que te obliga a explorar mas si lo quieres así, historia emotiva y cortita, visualmente es hermoso, tiene unos pequeños bug pero nada de otro muuundo. (si se te bugea reinicia punto de control y listo)

Eh. It has a good soundtrack, graphics, and premise, but that's about it. You see, it's very confusing, and it guides your hand in the begininng, but once you've "gotten used to it" it gets confusing. So, buy it don't buy it, but if you're okay with playing a game that's confusing, buy it!

Before the remastered version I played and was moved by the story. Gameplay isnt anything too interesting, just need to swith sometimes beetween different animals for traversal in different zones, good thing to have a different perspective. Remastered version brought incriedible visuals, made me wanting to go throught the story again. Some of the action pieces in the way with music filled me with butterflies, childish joy. The story is only thing the moved me through the game, mostly im action player. So for me its like story 5/5, gameplay 3/5, music 5/5, visuals 5/5. DLC too empty for me, cant rate, just playing it sometimes for a mood.
