Lootun is simply an amazing game and I'm truly baffled that it hasn't gotten more recognition. It's an idle loot/party manager game similar to Melvor Idle, but it skips all the boring parts of doing different professions, focusing only on the combat and party micromanagement aspects. The artstyle is, as per usual, nothing to write home about with these kinds of games, but also not unbearably bad, on the contrary, I quite like it. UI is also good, but past certain points some parts become obsolete. There aren't many portraits to choose from for your characters, but fret not, as you can upload your custom 128x128 px avatars. However, the single best part by far is that the game has a built in wiki in the form of the Glossary and contains the answer to all but the most advanced or niche questions, which is of course extremely useful. Unlike a few other similar games, the devs have managed to make the game not only about "numbers go up", but they've established many different systems to make every milestone and new unlock feel truly meaningful and diverse. Even with how few classes there are in the game, there are genuinely builds to theorycraft, strategies to try out and different team compositions to swap around in the late game. You can even play the entire game with only a single character if you so desire. The crafting system is incredible and you should learn to use it asap - experiment with it, it will speed up your progression immensely. I had randomly decided to return to this game after almost 4 years of not having played it and was pleasantly surprised to see that the devs are still hard at work, adding stuff to the game. In the time I was gone, they added multiple systems and layers to the progression and even an entire new class. Mind you, this is an incredibly cheap game even at full price - if that doesn't scream dedication and love for their work, I don't know what does. As such, I can wholeheartedly recommend this game to anyone into these kinds of games, as I don't think I've ever encountered any bugs or anything that's not to like about this game - besides it being as unknown as it is. If anything, this game will make it hard to ever touch any game in the genre again.
This is the best idle/semi-idle game I have played. I like that you can choose how you play - you can play it like a regular game and make decisions as you play or you can leave it as an idle game and have it in the background/leave it on when you do something else. You can build your characters in many different ways and a lot of different builds work well enough that you can complete the game with them. You are not locked in to playing certain cookie cutter builds to have a chance to progress through the game. Only negative in my opinion is that the current end-game is a bit stale but before that this was a great experience.
This game used to be fun. Dev made game and had mechanics and people figured out a META and all had fun.; Dev decides to fight player META with nerfs and that makes game worse. META changes is not new content, it's just a punishment to players who figured out how to have fun and push power creep. This isn't fun for me.
Definitely one of the top idle loot games I've played. My current rankings: Legends of Dragaea Lootun Fantasy Idle Dungeon Dragon Cliff Loot of Baal
It's an alright game for 5 bucks. It scratches a bit of an itch for gear rpgs but really we probably just need a good rpg. In any case, I don't think the progression is super fun in this game. I think the way its setup is cool ...the problem is its just chasing one step of better gear after another. It's too difficult to be building many characters and at the pace loot comes in it can be a bit overwhelming to manage. And in reality you just need minimum gear to push unlocks and then once game is 100% you can really dig in I would assume. But might be burnt by then.
This is a clever blend of isometric action RPGs with an idle game. If you enjoy sifting through randomized loot and crafting builds more than actually playing games like Diablo / Path of Exile then you'll probably enjoy this game. While it's not exactly in my strike zone, I appreciate how this game alleviates some pain points in both genres for me. Layering party combat with interesting character builds gives me enough to sink my teeth into compared to simple "numbers go up" idlers. Instead of coming back just to see a bunch of extra zeroes added to some counter, I'm adjusting character builds, sifting through new items, and reforging my gear to tackle harder stages. Meanwhile, combat in ARPGs tends to devolve into clicking a button to clear the screen at full build anyway. At that point, I'd rather have the combat happen in the background while I tinker with my build and/or simply do other things. Lootun isn't a game for everyone, but it's an incredible game for its target audience.
More interactive than Melvor. By that, I mean that equipment choices matter depending upon abilities chosen, especially Mage (it's more than Numbers Go Up). I still don't understand a few areas (upgrading buildings specifically and missing gathered resources) and wish there were mouse-over quick tidbits of info with links pointing to the very large glossary of information that I will read over soon while my poor minions go fight more battles. Otherwise, it's a fun idle game.
The game is so good I discovered what dopamine feels like, for the first time in my life, but I also discovered what happens to a brain from severe lack of sleep, so consider this a warning with 148 hours on record in 7 days I played the game actively for over 120 hours in a span of 6.5 days which is unhealthy, hope that gives you some idea what this game can do to you the game is cheap, and I paid x10 more for AAAA title and got less than 0.1 enjoyment per hour there so that is a comparison, but even comparing within its genre it's the top of the list if not the crown on it above what you'd think is #1 critical thoughts include: the pace is very well balanced so you don't get bored, can afk a little, there's plenty of variety, at the start I was just winging it and it worked, then build variety got pretty wide and more things are introduced through the game, then some strategy is added so you can no longer just send more damage and hope to win and you'd need to start reading and adapting, and once you get to the endgame you still have enough things introduced to learn some new tricks, but if you don't feel like it - the replayability is still there and climbing from the start with different approach may be interesting enough to play again P.S. I don't usually write reviews, but even Factorio did not steal so much sleep from me, I just had to warn other people

The best of its kind. Im roughly half way through the game at this point. At the same time im exited for every new unlock and optimisation I can do but also dread the day it will inevitably stop when I finish the game. I looked around a little and cant find one up to Lootuns Standard.
