fun game but very short for the msrp out the gate. not long enough for a single play, maybe the 2 player is more fun but i wouldn't know since it's local only. If you love arcade games, get it but under the caveat that it ends post stage 5.
Looney Landers is a fantastic short competitive sky diving arcade game with a throwback look and feel of the 1980's but gameplay and design that is rock solid for the modern era. I'm a big fan of this developer's games, and this is one takes a lot of the score-multiplying objectives of previous games like Donut Dodo and Cash Cow DX and uses it to provide a real skill challenge to get the best score. Very tough to do! But possible. Easy one button and joystick gameplay. Don't fumble a dive, don't die, get the star multiplier to carry your combo multiplier across levels, eat the bonus point objects. Chaotic and fun. The developer's intention to release further levels and gameplay modes is also great news. Worth buying regardless.
Perhaps the most fun SARL-S game yet! Looney Landers is all about minute control of your diver, and learning when to fall, deploy your parachute, and the bouncing physics is so rewarding. The steeper-than-usual learning curve leads to high skill expression after some hours, and the amount of control you have over your diver will start to be apparent. What might appear to be super random at first slowly becomes very consistent, and mastering the movement system and improving in-moment decision making will get you higher and higher scores. Having a CPU competitor at all times makes you always have to decide, should I go for the big score now? Or should I try to get some easier ones real quick before the CPU can get it? So many micro decisions per run, and I find it to be the perfect mix of random scenarios that skill can shine through. For sure worth it!
Starts off a bit confusing, too many things moving at the same time, but it quickly gets better. It's fun, colorful, and has a fancy Mega Drive-style soundtrack that brings back good memories. I only played it single player, as I don't use to play local multiplayer games on my PC, but I look forward to playing this game with my family.
Great old skool arcade action! This game is brilliant. Short enough for a quick blast and good enough to have you return for another go!
I really like this game. Very fun. Reminds me of Sky Skipper and the arcade Nintendo games. I’ll definitely buy more
fun arcade style game. It runs really great on steam deck. it's got a total 80's look and feel. it's not easy, but you can get good at it pretty quick.
Tons of colourful fun for people of all ages.
cute lil arcadeish game very colorfull very eye candy graphics the gameplay is simple but very fun and adictive
Looney Landers is a fun game with an amazing BGM. I highly recommend to play this versus with a friend. The only complaint and suggestion i have for the developer is the game is short and hopefully they'll consider to add more stages in a future dlc. If you add 4 to 6 more stages this will be a PERFECT game.
