I love this type of game. Littlewood is a solid contribution, pretty much what I expected, although lacking the depth of titles like Stardew or Pacha. There's a little grind, as with any game of this type, but it's a comfortable and relaxing grind. Littlewood doesn't feel like it's asking too much or being disrespectful of your time. Sometimes, however, it can feel repetitive when there is only one fish or one bug you can access per season. You'll spend your days woodcutting, mining, fishing, and checking what's for sale. There is essentially no time pressure; time of day depends on your remaining energy. You could play an infinitely long day by simply decorating the town. I enjoyed the lack of pressure, though I wouldn't mind more. Speaking of which, farming isn't a big focus. Very little strategy or time management involved. Everything grows quickly and at the same speed, all year round, and you'll mainly be farming to help with cooking. Endgame is the weak point for me, and I will elaborate in hopes that the dev plans to flesh out this part. Maxing a skill gives excellent boosts, but you'll barely get to enjoy them, because what else is there to do? Same for a building that gives you boosts--I spent a lot of effort collecting upgrade materials, but couldn't actually reap the rewards by the time I could afford the upgrade. It turned a big achievement into a let-down. Finally, it seemed like I was working towards a final piece of content by unlocking all destinations, but there was none. Just another reward I no longer had use for. I settled for my own endgame: grabbed a few more achievements, made the town pretty, got the furnishing rewards (which, yet again, would have been more useful earlier in the game--but obtaining all the blueprints requires lots of time and endgame wealth), and closed the game.

Cute and cozy. It runs perfect in Steam Deck

Normally I don't like writing reviews for games before I've at least considered them "beaten", but I'm going to make an exception for Littlewood because of my limited free time and the nature of the game. Littlewood is a very casual town/farm/life sim where you build up a new village after the end of an epic quest that you've forgotten. The concept, I think, is pretty neat- though it's mostly just a dialog thing and doesn't really impact the world more than how the npcs interact with you. What the game boils down to is busy work: Gather resources, craft materials, build structures. Every action other than walking and talking takes up time in the day, and when you fill the bar you go and sleep to progress to the next day. You repeat, and repeat, and repeat until you build up the town you want because I can't imagine there's really any endgame. Mostly just decorating and building relationships. I do the the NPCs to the point that I've unlocked them, they all have pretty decent personalities and they are fun to interact with. You can have them follow you, which is cute, though that just fills the relationship meter more and gives you some passive income while you spend energy. The fact that you kind of have no gender is a neat touch, which I think means you can romance just about anyone without having to assume any sexualities (Not that that matters, but it does make things a bit less cheesy). The big things that I dislike are the energy system, and the process of upgrading buildings. As previously stated you have limited energy, and the only way to increase that is with town "wishes". The wishes are random, and only reset twice per week, so you just kind of have to hope you can get more or your days become very same-y very fast. Every facility you build can also be upgraded with donations, but most of the levels you have to progress through are just filler that randomly give you 3 "rare items" with no context or relation to the building you're upgrading. I feel like streamlining that process would have been a bit more smooth, even if the upgrade process was made slightly more difficult. That being said, I think Littlewood is an overall good experience. It really makes me feel like I'm playing Forager again with how you collect resources, though without the exact same dopamine loop that keeps me hooked to it. If I had more time I would probably be willing to sink a lot more of it into Littlewood, but I will at the very least return to it now and again to burn a little free time in a comfy way.
I got invested in this game and the storyline, but ran into a game breaking bug with a cut scene with Terric. It blank screens the game. Extremely frustrating as the game does not auto save at the end of every day. Seems like a great oversight. I don't even mind the grind but playing the same 7 days on repeat to eventually need to redo them with no change no matter how I try to change my town around to stop this weird bug is horrible.
My favorite part about this game is that time only progresses when you do tasks, so you can step away or muck about IRL and not feel like you're playing sub-optimally. The gameplay loop is fun. The game is cute and easy. There isn't much depth, which could be a pro or a con depending on what you're looking for. The most annoying aspect for me was that every character in the game is written like they are an actual 5-10 year old just XD RANDOM SPORK OF DOOM LOL. It seems like the developer only expected relatively young children to play the game I guess. Still a nice game. 6-7/10ish for me personally.
very chill and very cute. i still have lots of things left to do, but feel like ive already done so much.
Not only is this the most wonderful game, but it came in a particularly difficult time in my life. And so, it'll always have a special place in my heart. I've played through it a few times now but i'm sure i'll come back again and again.
